RACIAL DISCRIMINATION AT ITS FINEST at this establishment. Let me start off by saying, I am African American and in my 31 years of life have never felt so disturbed or uncomfortable by an establishment. So, my close friend and I decided to have a...girls Sunday Funday and wanted to start off with some food. We stumbled upon this place from yelp and decided to try it out for both of our first time. Upon arrival I was asked if I wanted to either sit outside or inside where there was WAY too many people and trying to consider social distancing, I asked to sit in the back. At first, the hostess stated that it was unavailable due to 3 parties being there, so I responded by saying “Okay, I’ll just ask our waiter to advise us once it is free”, she then went to “check” and came back saying it was miraculously free. So my friend and I followed her towards the back and sat comfortably away from others. We weren’t greeted by our waiter for approximately 8 minutes. Once he came over to us he approached me with his hands waving in my face asking if my hair was real. I have big curls and I have to say I was so caught off guard by the level of unprofessionalism. Nonetheless, we started to place our drink orders in, my friend who is not African American asked if we could try their sweetest wine.... the waiter (Ramone) came back with one glass; as if I was not sitting there. My friend proceeded to say “can you bring another glass so my friend can try, I’m not here alone”, he abruptly went to the bar and screamed out I need another glass. At this point, I’m completely turned off but I try to suck it up. The entire time we were there, I was disregarded and he only attended to my friend. She takes note of this and goes to the manager to ask for another waiter. The manager proceeds to come to our table and asks what is the issue. My friend goes on stating, “he is disregarding my friends presence and only attending to me and I am not the only customer here, she is being treated unfairly”. The manager goes on to say, “we have plenty of black people coming here so it just must be a misunderstanding but whatever we got you a new waiter” and walks away. We were both disgusted by his response and decided to take our business elsewhere (Dexters to be exact) where we were treated fairly. In the time where social injustices is at an all time high you would think a company would educate their staff on the right to treat others of different ethnic and cultural backgrounds with respect, however, they are not. I am highly disappointed by the lack of unprofessionalism and lack of social moral displayed by this company. I will make it my power to spread the word. Do better as human beings.More
Stopped in for a late lunch and it was delicious. Had the apple salad, at the recommendation of the waiter, and added chicken to it. The salad was perfect and the chicken was cooked to perfection and nicely seasoned. Highly recommend this restaurant. Wine list...was also fantasticMore
I had stopped by for lunch recently with my constant companion. We had had dinner recently and it was great. I did not submit a review for that so I figure I need to give credit where credit is due. I ordered the Gouda Meatloaf...sandwich. Companion ordered chicken salad on a croissant. The meat loaf at the vineyard is on of their signature dishes. They make the meat loaf the day before adding diced bacon and gouda cheeze chunks. The cook and refridgerate over nite. Next day they slice , grill and place a venison demi-glaze on it . Spectaculare!!!! Companions Chicken Salad was also very good. A decent amount of Mayowhich could be cut back but very good none the less. Both dished were served with a bow tie pesto pasta salad. Again - very good. Price was iabout $40 including a good glass of wine(for me). I highly recommend.More
our appetizer was hummus trio, great starter plenty for 4 of us. Dinners we all selected something different. The salmon and Mediterranean chicken skewers were the favorites. The how extensive wine list and complete bar. Nice atmosphere and good service
Excellent venue for cocktails or dinner. Great selection of food and drink. Warm, wonderful service (especially, Cookie!). Elegant---without being pretentious. Very good Happy Hour. For a intimate dinner for two, I'd suggest that you book the table in the back room, on the left, in...the nook right by the wine vault: you're in a crowded restaurant, but you feel that it's just you two...More
Our party stopped for a late lunch and enjoyed the meal. The "meatloaf" sandwich is excellent and tastes really unique. The nachos were fine and the chicken salad sandwich was a touch heavy on the mayo but tasty. The waiter Phil was EXCELLENT and attentive....He was not overly pushy but appropriately interested in us. We will definitely go back.More
