Typical slow restaurant with average food

Stopped at this location while on vacation with family. Location is in a great location but possibly due to outages from people not wanting to work, very slow service. We had a table of nine and it to about 35-40 minutes to get our food. I asked one of the few employees in the location why was the food taking so long and was told that they done staff a lot of employees on certain days a the kitchen waits until all food is ready to serve before sending food out. Well some was cold upon reaching table and people were pissed. I ordered a salad and it was just as long but I was glad that it was cold. There seems to be no sense of urgency. Food was good but not great. Presentation is also important and it was not correct. The plus was that there was a lady who appeared to be a supervisor and wanted to join us when we prayed over the food. I would possibly recommend for breakfast or on a night with more staffing- Fri, Sat, or Sun.

Great for Breakfast

Enjoyed our breakfast here at around 10:30 am. Staff were great. Food was plentiful. Coffee was EXCELLENT! Most customers did not use gloves that were provided to serve themselves their food. That was very discouraging to us. But...great time.

Poor Dinner experience

We arrived just after 3 and our server advised we were now on dinner service as lunchtime was finished. The 4 of us all chose the buffet as we thought fresh food would be brought out however they only topped up the limited choice already there which was very poor and never worth the price. I wouldn’t recommend it for others

Don’t waste your time or money

The waitresses are rude Pamela B ( name on bill) the bill was on the table before i ever got to the table i never ordered all she would say was it’s a Buffet so i didn’t want that so why charge me for it and she was very rude when ask for a refill on 3.49 glass of tea... absolute worst place in Orlando Florida do not waste your time or your money... I know everyone is saying that it’s hard to get help now but it’s a whole lot easier to be nice then it is to be rude and believe me I’m a BIG tipper and for me to leave Pamela B not one penny ...plus the grits that i did taste was horrible

Really bad, poor choice and ridiculously expensive for what we ate!

We were total only buffet was available. I’m vegetarian so once realised there were options decided to stay. The food in the buffet was dry and tasteless. Other guests arrived and were able to order from the menu and given proper cutlery. The bill was ridiculously high for the small amount we actually could eat. When challenged the server on why we weren’t allowed to order from the menu, we were total they were short staffed in the kitchen. Totally unacceptable and ruined my evening. Would not recommend.

A feast of fantastic food.

First time at Shoney's for me. Not very busy during COVID. Four adults and three messy children and they treated us like royalty. Two children were under 4 and got free meals with the adult meals. The chicken salad was monsterous. I had a philly cheese steak omelette, which came with potatoes and a huge pancake. Loved it.

Slow service

We visited Stoney’s for lunch today and waited there for over 2 hours. My steak order came out wrong and I had to wait over 30 mins to get a new steak. The bartender Kellie and the waitress Susan were great and super busy so I under the wait time. However, the manager Ivy with the blue hair did nothing to help her girls out. We complained to her about my food, she took my plate back to the kitchen and didn’t even bother to come back to check if the new plate was good. She didn’t help her staff with the bar or the table at all. She was sitting down playing on her phone and didn’t pay any attention to how busy her staff was. As a manager of a restaurant myself, I would have helped my staff seeing how busy they were. Thank you to Kellie and Susan for their attentive service but this place definitely needs some better management in place..

An OK breakfast buffet

We had breakfast here on a Saturday morning. It is right across the street from our hotel, and we hadn't eaten at a Shoneys in a long time. Meh. The restaurant was ONLY serving a breakfast buffet, and the servers each had too many tables. Our waitress was nice enough, but I only saw her 3 times in the whole meal. The food was quite good, with a decent selection. But it wasn't anything we couldn't get at the hotels breakfast, for 1/3 the price and half the crowd. I'd like to try the restaurant again for dinner or lunch, when we can sit and enjoy a table service meal. However, for now, at breakfast, even with good food, it was just OK.

Great Breakfast Buffet

We dined here twice during our recent Kissimmee/Orlando visit. The Breakfast buffet was actually better than we expected. We usually go to Golden Corral for their breakfast buffet but they no longer have the breakfast buffet during the weekdays. They have a large variety of items: pancakes, eggs, French toast sticks, bacon, sausage links, breakfast potatoes, fruit, etc. Everything was very good.

Waitress had absolutely no knowledge of menu. Adult pasta dish was the same size as the kids . Restaurant was not clean with food on the floor. Staff clearing the tables didn’t seem to care in fact sat at tables whilst meant to be cleaning. Cocktails were weak in fact no taste at all. Has to be a better place in old town than this place to eat.

Bad experience

Table was dirty and sticky when we arrived and trash on the floor around my table. Food was not fresh. And I had 4 people in my party and on my ticket and restaurant added 18% gratuity without my permission. Then when I asked manager to remove so I can tip accordingly to my service she refused and was rude about it. She wanted to know how much I tipped and refused to take it off my bill. She said she had to take care of her servers. I’m sorry but a tip should be given to a server by a customer according to how good service was and not forced onto customers because you have to take car of them. I will not be returning to this place if this is how they do business.

Just plain bad

The place was empty, only 1 family in the restaurant and from the time I sat down to the time I got my order was close to an hour. When the food came it all tasted BAD. Servers were slow and un-interested in anything. Left feeling like I wasted my time and money.

Breakfast Buffet

We wanted to try an American Breakfast Buffet and found that Shoney's was walkable for us. It had what we expected, bacon, eggs, pancakes, etc. The wait staff were very friendly but seemed rushed due to a lack of staff. This also impacted the toilets which were not as clean as I would have expected. Overall the food was fine and was as expected. A little pricey for what we got though.

My family of 10 ate at Here….quite a long wait, not impressed with the food..the county steak was mash up meat, not a steak.! The breaded chicken was just ok…..the best seemed to be the club sandwich…would not visit again..

Terrible experience

My server naa was rude not nice at all it was like we were inconvenience to her us being there she was short and foul mouth. When cashing out she was yelling at another male sever when he was trying to help. I don't know how anyone would have an employee working here who is disrespectful to their customers. Will Definity not be back if she is still working here .
