We stopped in for a lunch and a beer. The craft beer selection was good and the wait staff was knowledgeable on their selections. The waitress was very friendly and delivered good service. The food was good too. We had a BBQ sandwich and Conch fritters. We would definitely go back.

I love this place. I live in the keys so I get the opportunity to enjoy this place on a frequent basis. I work in the tourism industry and this is one of 2 places I tell people is a must eat here. My favorite 2 options are 1. the chicken wings, because they are unexplainable. So good they don't... More

It's not fine dining but some of the best food I have had in a long time. Smoked wings were spot on with some great sauces. Tasty conch fritters. Clam chowder some of the best I have had. And then there are a zillion craft beers. Our waitress brought lots of samples and I chose a couple great local brews.... More

After a week at the keys we regret that we visited Herbie only on our last night. What a nice meal. Veggie wrap, Reuben sandwich was fantastic and so was the choice of 36 diff beers on tap. Nice service and a place to really recommend. We would have loved to visit Herbie for many more meals.

Small and good. Best pork BBQ you can find. Beer is reasonable. Chowder is also world class. Plenty of parking. Don't miss this gem.

The food is amazing and has a lot of things that are usual in the keys but they throw their own flare on it to make it outstanding! And the craft beers are the best selection in Marathon and probably the keys! Ask for Gennia at the bar and give her a good tip! She's very knowledgeable about the beers... More

I've wanted to stop here for years. Finally did. Great beer selection. The food was just OK. Chowder was good. Wings not so great. Smoked fish spread was dry. Not too smoky.

Just a point of clarification: we do not make a smoked fish spread. We make a fish dip. They are entirely different products. We light smoke with local buttonwood and focus mainly on the fish with little filler like one finds in spreads. As for the wings, well that's a new one as you are the first to ever say... More

Yet another one of those places like so many others in the Keys you might just pass by driving down the Overseas Highway. Put on the brakes and stop in for lunch or dinner. Grab a table on the shaded screen porch at one of the comfy picnic tables. There are also a (very) few tables inside. Start with either... More

Great chowder and onion rings. Fried chicken sandwich was perfect, not overdone! Service was gratious and efficient.

We had driven past this several times. After reading the reviews we stopped in for dinner. We went into the bar side and sat down for an amazing big dinner. Lots of beer on tap and it was $4 night. Score! We then decided on the oyster poboy and the crabby burger and a basket of fries. It was all... More

Description
Herbies is the oldest operating restaurant in the Heart of the Florida Keys! Having been established in the late 1940's under the name Maggie's Chowder House, it has become a landmark restaurant and continued local favorite. While the restaurant is well established, the only thing old school about the menu is the fact that everything is prepared from scratch here, and that includes grinding our own grass fed beef, conch, sausage, and hot dogs (when available). And, our beer selection is unmatched from Miami to Key West. All on tap craft beer. No, you will not find a National branded beer here, but you will find true American fresh craft beer along with some exceptionally fine wines all poured by the glass. So, don't let the Florida road side shack appearance fool you! Come on in and enjoy some of the best food in the Heart of the Keys!
