While in Key West for a couple of days, my husband and I stopped into Captain Tony's twice. Live music both times, fun souvenir cups, nice bartenders and a very unique design with bras and money put up by the many people that have visited this bar. Good place to hang out and smoke while you drink. The shirts they... More

On a very hot day we ducked in and had a drink, as with many venues in Key West there was live music and a decent crowd even early in the day. The place is fairly uniques with the ceiling covered in signed bras and thousands of bank notes stapled to every possible point, a must visit to a famous... More

If your looking for fine dining and spirits Captain Tony's isn't the place but, if you are looking for atmosphere ,you are at the right place. The site of the original Sloppys Joes and the oldest bar in Florida has character for miles. The Key West hanging tree grows right in the middle of the lounge area with the tombstone of one... I came to Key West because of the connection to so many of my favorite writers and poets of the modern era. Captain Tony's was a must because this was the original Sloppy Joe's and the location where Wallace Stevens broke his hand on Hemingway's jaw. Anyway, the punch was tasty and had me feeling good at one. The entertainer... More

There were four of us that went to this bar and had the best time. It's laid back atmosphere made you feel at home. There are pool and foosball tables to use while Listening to the musicians. One of the musicians, Gary, was a lot of fun. Will warn the the Pirates Punch tastes GREAT but can hit you all... More

We wanted to visit because of the Hemingway connection and also because we enjoy a good dive bar. This is a really unique place with lots to look at, reasonably priced drinks and good 'divey' atmosphere. Unfortunately we left after one drink because the 'musician' they had in there was mediocre and ruined the evening even more with his vulgar... More

Captain Tony's is the original Sloppy Joe's. In the 1930s, the first Sloppy Joe's was hit with increased rent----so moved across the street to become the Sloppy Joe's of today. Captain Tony's is much smaller than Sloppy Joe's, is more for the drinkers than foodies, and is very attractive (in its own way). It also has a history of the... More

A little grungy, but great drinks, some hot guitar playing and old charm. We enjoyed it! Left a decorated dollar behind on the ceiling...a good time was had by all.
