Parking is always at a premium in Key West, but finding a spot near the corner of Catherine and Margaret Streets is well worth the search. Here you’ll find El Siboney, a really fine Cuban restaurant. When we arrived just after 7:00pm, the place was packed. Nevertheless, we were seated in minutes, and the drinks we ordered (beer, wine, soda, no hard liquor) arrived before we could finish reading the extensive menu of pork, beef, seafood, and chicken dishes. The roast pork with steamed and buttered yucca and crisp-fried plantain was truly excellent. The pork was a large serving, tender and moist, served shredded with pickled onion. The fried plantain was the best I’ve ever tried. My dinner partner’s garlic shrimp was served with rice and plantains, again a large portion. He gave a rave review about his shrimp. Staff and servers are very friendly and quick to please. Our check, with drinks, was $40.00.

This restaurant is off the heavily traveled touristy Duval Street corridor but still walkable from Front Street. It seems authentic, with an extensive menu of Cuban dishes at very reasonable prices. The sangria was excellent. Very basic decor, not much atmosphere, but you're there for the food.

If you are in Key West, you need to go here ASAP!! We mainly eat seafood when we are on vacation, but we have tried some Cuban and Nicaraguan along with seafood for this trip. This restaurant is by far the best restaurant that we have been to on this trip. We have had really good food at all of the restaurants but this one is hands down the best!! Super friendly staff. I’m not a huge sangria fan, but decided to try a half pitcher for me and my husband. Wish we have ordered a whole pitcher, it is home made and it is amazing!!! They bring you some buttered Cuban bread when you are seated. I ate the fried pork chunks which came with rice and beans and sweet plantains. My husband had roast pork, yuca and pork tamale. He also added a side of beans, rice and sweet plantains which he didn’t even need because we could have shared mine. It was a lot of food for a great price, around $45 for 2 very large plates of food and 1/2 pitcher of sangria. I can not recommend this place enough. We told several people about it while we were on our trip. The flavors in this food is delicious!!!

ordered chicken soup, roast chicken with rice (what they are famous for apparently), salad, lima bean soup, ham croquets. Got fries instead of rice, chicken soup warm not hot, chicken was so dry could not eat must have been cooked earlier and kept warm. Lima bean soup comparable to others, Would not go back as it was not memorable or good at all.

Fabulous Cuban food!! The atmosphere was warm & inviting. Staff were extremely attentive even though they were very busy on the evening I was there. I had the pulled pork sandwich which was huge! I ended up taking the top half the bread off as it was way too much food for me. I took a slice of their homemade cake with me & it was amazing as well. I would definitely go there again when back in Key West.

El Siboney is set back in a neighborhood and is unassuming. The pleasant Latin waitresses will bring you some buttered hot Cuban bread while they take your order and drinks. Had the Ropa Vieja and it was very authentic and tasted great with a large portion size and includes yellow rice and black bean. Love this place and the nice people that own it. The prices were inexpensive for the quantity and quality of the food. Didn’t have room for the flan but we are definitely getting it next time. Can’t wait for my next visit. Highly recommended!

While we don’t have a chance to eat Cuban food around where we live, we wanted to experience it. So on arrival we found El Siboney. It is in a quite neighborhood off the beaten tourist path. When you go in the smells pull on you like being lead down a golden highway in the carribian islands. We were seated quickly and waited on by a beautiful helpful waitress that put us at ease. The menu isn’t hard to read and the waitress gladly described each dish. My wife ordered the roasted pork with plantains instead of the normal rice and black beans and I ordered the Cuban mixed sandwich with plantain chips. The service was fast the food was very plentiful and the taste was exactly what we were looking for. The pork was seasoned beautiful not over powering, and a large portion of it. And my wife said the fried plantains went great with it. The sandwich I had was so yummy I was smiling from ear to ear. We had a cup of Cuban coffee to Finnish the meal and had a choice of some really great desserts but we were so full we couldn’t do it. The restaurant is clean and family friendly. The staff are very nice and we would give this Cuban gem a five star.

I had the Palomino steak with black beans/rice & a large helping of plantains. Steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly, while my wife had shredded pork, beans, rice and plantains. Both dinners were large enough to share and my one and only complaint is that it was so good we both ate it all 🙄 Service was also great. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting Key West 👍

We came here for good Cuban food. We ordered chicken soup and a beef empanada which were tasty. Entrees meatballs which were good but the sides were not so good. Fish entree was very fishy and difficult to eat. Recommend not to order fish here.

A friend took me to El Siboney after he’d been introduced to it on a foodie tour on a past visit to Key West. He said it’s known as the best Cuban cuisine restaurant by visitors and locals alike. As soon as you walked up, you could see the popularity from the line waiting for a table. Despite the line we were seated pretty quickly. The menu is extensive and I’ll bet everything is as good as the meal I had the Siboney steak. Asking a local later which was the best in Key West, his immediate reply was all locals go to Siboney, confirmed it!

We ate lunch at the El Siboney in Key West proper and dinner at the one on Stock Island. Growing up close to Tampa, we both enjoy good Cuban sandwiches, but what we think of as authentic ones are hard to find. We heard that El Siboney had good Cuban food so gave it a try for lunch one day in Key West. The Cuban sandwich (Cuban Mix) was very good, almost as I remember it should be. Service was good and price very reasonable. Based on this meal only, I'd rate the restaurant as a 5. We noticed the menu said that they offered Paella but with a minimum of two people and required a one hour notice to prepare it. We figured that should mean a very good and well prepared paella, which my wife loves (and I like also). We ordered it at the Stock Island El Siboney and arrived at the restaurant about 30 minutes after phoning the order. We had to wait another 45 minutes (total time 1:15) for the Paella, but did enjoy some good sangria while we waited. When the paella came out, it was a huge amount of food for two, but that was about the only good think I can say about it. There was a mountain of rice, a fair amount of chicken, a few small shrimp, and a small lobster tail. When we make paella, we include corizo sausage, shellfish (clams, mussels, etc.), plenty of shrimp, but the El Siboney paella was disappointing. We managed to get the very large amount of leftovers home where we added corizo, more shrimp, scallops and more seasoning to the rice and chicken from El Siboney and that made some pretty decent paella. This meal came out as a 3, with a huge amount of mediocre food.

If you are looking for Cuban food at reasonable prices this is it. Our group was killing time on our last day in Key West waiting for our 5:30pm flight. We wanted a nice lunch that wasn’t going to cost a fortune and the manager of our hotel recommended this place. We weren’t disappointed. I had the mixed Cuban sandwich, fries and a glass of wine for $25 which I felt was a very reasonable price. Everything was great and I had half the sandwich left over to take with me on the plane (they don’t feed you anymore and my flight doesn’t get in until 8pm). The other ladies were just as pleased with their meals as I was.

Cuban cooking with well-known dishes cooked in authentic style. A little hard to find in a residential area but worth it when you sample the food. Parking is limited. During meal service was not good because the packed house was full of customers.

This resturant is by far, the best value, serving delicious food, priced moderately with ample serving. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. Our waiter had a real sense of humor and was warm, cheerful and accommodating. We wish we had more space in our tummies to eat more--the for was THAT good!

Our family went on a food tasting tour, which helped us to find this delicious and authentic Cuban restaurant. We were served fresh Cuban bread, roasted pork and black beans with white rice. Delicious!
