Description: An "only in Key West" restaurant, The Flaming Buoy Filet Co....
An "only in Key West" restaurant, The Flaming Buoy Filet Co. makes a statement on the hushed stage of a residential neighborhood. It is one part retro supper club, one part sassy corner bistro, and one part highly personal whim. Fred Isch, self-proclaimed Air Force Brat, grew up in every geographic segment of the country with a mother who loved cooking and collecting recipes. His partner, Scot Forste, grew up on the farm where his mother, bored of city life, spontaneously relocated to get back to the land, breed horses, and grow fresh, healthy food. Every recipe on the Flaming Buoy menu is an interpretation of something Fred or Scot ate at their respective family tables. Local additions, like seafood, tropical fruits, and Cuban flavors reinterpret the nostalgia, and the result grabbed the attention of the New York Times in 2011. Whether from a porch seat next to pots of herbs, or inside a white dining room accented in orange, dining the Flaming Buoy way is delicious and fun.

Glad you had a wonderful first visit. Hopefully, you'll have a good second and third visit. The fourth visit will be so-so, but that's just science: P (x) = chances for ÷ chances against. The fifth one? We nail it. Thank you for the review! Scot Co-Owner, The Flaming Buoy Filet Co. More

We have cycled past this on our way to and from downtown several times, and it has looked a cool place to have dinner. We chose last night, to give it a try, and whilst it is not cheap, the atmosphere was good, even though not crowded, it was superbowl evening, but the food was good as was the service.... More

I did not think we would enjoy this restaurant as much as we did! Had seen the menu before our trip to KW and it did not make our "tops" list. Well, after a last minute walkup, we were welcomed and enjoyed a number of small dishes (all, very good) and a bottle of wine from a nice wine list.... More

Thank you for the review. Always glad to surprise someone. Generally, however, my surprise method involves a dark alley, a good hiding spot, and an airhorn. Occasionally the police are involved. I must say, this is a refreshing change of pace. Come see us again. I'll be waiting for you. Somewhere. Scot Co-Owner, The Flaming Buoy Filet Co. More

The service was excellent and the hog fish was flavorful and tender. Had the banana bread French toast for dessert. It was unusual and amazing.

I'd been wanting to try the FB for some time now and anticipated a 5 star experience. The restaurant itself is cozy and funky, great feel to it. The service, welcoming and spot on. The food? Well, scallops and bacon app was tasty, but for $14 we expected more than 2 scallops. Spinach salad was a classic and quite good.... More

This place is ok, some dishes really good. Portions are generous. My Caesar salad was of Golden Corral quality. Spinach salad was much better. Limited wine selection less than $50 per bottle. Reservations required most nights. Don't worry, if you can't get a table there are plenty of great dining establishments in Key West.

3 couples ordered a plethora of dishes. No one left the table hungry or disappointed. Reservations a must. Reasonably priced relaxed atmosphere with a friendly fun wait staff.

Lobster mac and cheese and lobster thermador are worth the trip alone. Good wines, love the mango salsa that is with the hogfish. Deserts are not their strength, but the fish more than makes up for it.

Im so glad I looked this place up on yelp - its a bit out of the way and we wouldn't have walked by it in our normal walks. But we were thrilled with everything - great ambiance, amazing food, and terrific service. I highly recommend this place.
