My favorite dinner since at least the early-1990s

Abundantly staffed with a wait-staff as friendly as you'll find anywhere. When the place gets really packed, they may get temporarily overwhelmed, understandable given the unpredictability of dinner rushes. But Num's crew always seem to recover pretty quickly. Dinner here is one of the best values on the island and in the Keys, the prices are fair and ample portions mean you'll probably take a bit home with you. Take-out is a safe bet too, it you want to eat at home or at your hotel room. The menu is primarily Thai and Sushi, with some Japanese dishes in a separate section of the menu as well. Call ahead if you want them to set up a table for a large group. Many customers never notice there is a second dining room so they can accommodate a dozen, two dozen and more. But calling well in advance assures they will have enough staff to handle such a crowd, I'd say a couple hours ahead should do it, but the day before would be much more helpful.

Delicous food, great service!

It's so great to have an "ethnic" restaurant in the Keys. It provides a nice change from the usual meat, fish and pasta options. It also has much better options for vegetarians. The service is great - they accommodate special requests (hold this, add that) and the food comes out promptly. They are also open later than other restaurants, which is very handy.

Our AirBnb hosts recommended this place to us, and it was absolutely fantastic. The kids meals were hearty, delicious, and adorable. Our kids were so excited when the dishes came out, and they ate every bite. We did 2 specialty rolls as an appetizer so that we could get the sushi and a couple Thai dishes. Everything was super fresh and perfect. We really hope to get back there some day.

Great service and huge menu with good food

Outstanding service by a large wait-staff. Good was good but expected the Spicy Whole Snapper to have some spice. Additional sauce would have been nice. Mango and sticky rice was good but needed more coconut cream in sauce. Would like to see fresh spring rolls on menu.

By far the best Thai and Sushi in the Keys!!

I am a local and frequently eat here. The food is incredible!!! Always fresh and delicious. The service is very prompt and friendly. I love the peanut dressing made in house for the salads. The black pepper garlic pork, seafood padd Thai, and the volcano shrimp are some of my favorites. The sushi is phenomenal!!

Tiny place but BiG on value and quality of sushi!

You will be very surprised when you walk into this strip mall, tiny storefront restaurant, by the incredible generosity of the serving sizes, and the quality of the fresh fish! It’s always packed, no reservations accepted so get there early. I’ve never seen saki on draft before, loved the Asian pair flavor ice cold saki served in a frozen stemmed glass. A very very generous pour for $5.50 each. Normally when you order sushi rolls you get six or eight small ones. Here you get 10 enormous rolls. Check out the photos to see what I’m talking about. The prices are reasonable, the people are pleasant, and there’s even a Robot programed to deliver your food to the tiny tables in the dining room. There are four tatami style pit tables that we love to go to. Perfect for a couple especially because the foot area is tight so you will be playing footsie all night ha ha!

Disappointing but cheap.

We found this restaurant disappointing despite its good reviews. There was absolutely no finesse to the presentation or the cooking and was way below the standard of some Thai restaurants in Britain. The food is delivered by a very noisy robot. However, this place did seem very popular with locals and was busy. Many people seemed to be ordering the sushi which may have been better, surprising as I think the staff were all Thai and not Japanese. It was quite cheap.

Under whelming

My wife and I went with great expectations. The resort where we staying recommended it and Trip Advisor gave it great ratings. Unfortunately, we did not have a great experience, just average. When we walked in we were greeted by the strong smell of fried food. Fortunately we were seated in an area where the smell was not present. Service was very efficient. I ordered the red curry which I love and have eaten in many Thai restaurants. In this case the sauce was excellent. Full of flavor and just hot enough. The chicken was another matter. It was tough. The vegetables were under cooked. My wife had Pad Thai that was full of flavor. Her chicken was also on the tough side although not as bad as mine. The Singha beer was excellent.

Robot is fun and service is good

They have a robot that serves customers, which is very entertaining. It even sang happy birthday as it delivered food. The people that work there had great service. We had the red thai curry with vegetables and the veggie sushi roll. Both were good and there were a good amount of vegan options.

A lot of vegan options and so good!

We were staying in Islamorada recently and looking for vegan options in the area. We decided to try Num-Thai in Key Largo and so glad we did! We had a vegetable roll from the sushi bar, some veggie spring rolls, and tofu veggie red curry. It was go good! The way they deliver food to the tables is unique and very cute! We will definitely come back. Highly recommend!

Terrible

I ordered Masaman Curry for pick up and it was filled with a bunch of onions and peanuts without potatoes. So I called and they said to come back and they'd switch it for me so my bf went back and switch it and guess what, it was full of SWEET POTATOES instead of regular potatoes. I've never in my life had any asian curry with sweet potatoes in it having lived in Thailand myself for six years. Not how the Masaman curry should be and I'm definitely not ordering from them ever again.

Excellent Food & Service

Excellent and Reasonable is unusual these days, but not at Num Thai. We regularly order Thai food, especially the Pad Thai for me, the Shrimp Fried rice for my husband. Tonight we had the sushi and it is awesome! We decided that we can alternate - I’ve week Thai , one week sushi, and come weekly!

Is there a change of ownership???!

I’ve been going to this restaurant for 22 years and something is off. The level of service especially from that new Hispanic guy server has decreased dramatically. He got ALL of my orders wrong!!!!!! The quality of the food decreased as well. The soups got super salty. Something is definitely wrong.

Good seafood and ambiance

The food was good, the service was good and the robot food delivery was a fun treat. We had a special seafood that nice and the portions and presentation were both good. I would come back and try more of the Thai fare next time. The sushi we had was fresh prepared and the wasabi was very good. Extra spice was available upon request so my spouse likes it a little milder while I prefer more caliente. Over a good dining experience.

The robot waiter adds a Pee Wee Herman touch to this lovely Thai spot

Delightful Thai cuisine and a silly robot waiter make this place an excellent destination when in Key Largo. Just as I'd forgotten the night before that an American 'small' size plate would be considered 'large' anywhere else on the planet here we ran into it with level of spice. 'Medium' spicy was def 'mild' so if you want a little kick ask for very spicy. Seafood was fresh and good quality, the service and decor were exactly what they should be.
