You could easily miss Docs on your drive down Rt. 1 in Key Largo. But if you get the chance, Docs is not to missed. The breakfast is fantastic and reasonably priced. Key Largo is blessed with many great breakfast spots but Docs should be...considered near the top of the list.More
We had a Wonderful Brunch last Sunday at Doc's Diner! What a friendly, welcoming staff they have there! The food was very tasty, would definitely recommend this restaurant for it authentic Diner atmosphere and staff.
Please let me start off by saying that the only reason I chose this place is because when I googled it, it said "gluten free options" and I was really looking forward to a a late breakfast/early lunch with some kind of toast or something....However, they had nothing gluten free, except for the stuff that's naturally gluten free (salads and such) and those options were very limited.
That being said, we forged on because of the good reviews. The place was represented as a secret place where the locals go for great food. I will say that the service was excellent and the staff was super friendly. They smiled and were very attentive. I loved that part of the experience.
The food, however, was really disappointing. I ordered a Ruben (so I could discard the rye bread) and my husband ordered a grilled cheese sandwich. Some of it was served cold, the meet looked and tasted a bit "old" and the overall quality was really just less than average.
If you're just visiting and only have a few days to spend on Key Largo, skip this one. It's a shame too, because the staff was really so nice.More
