Good fish prep but very poor service

Came here on the recommendation of our fishing captain. They had a nice hook and cook option where we could choose a variety of preparations and sides for a very reasonable price. The food was very good but the service was very slow. They forgot our appetizer, we had to flag them down for another drink, to get our check, etc. We would try somewhere else next time.

Would Definitely Come Back

Really laid back and casual. Pricing was on par for the amount of food given and it was incredibly tasty. We enjoyed being able to sit outside by the water and listening to the live music. It was perfect for a casual sit down dinner and the ambiance was nice.

Plump juicy shrimp

The coconut shrimp and the fried shrimp were very plump and juicy-perfectly fried. Best we’ve had so far in Key Largo. Service was good, view off the patio was filled with sailboats, yachts, tour boats, pelicans, iguana.. both indoor a/c seating in addition to outdoor patio. Bathroom clean. Good choice for us-we’d definitely come back!

Horrible waiter

We went here to watch the Viking-Packer game. Our waiter took our drink order, I said I’d just have water to start so he brought me a glass, but didn’t bring water for everyone. We ordered an appetizer which he brought with plates but no silverware or napkins. We asked another waiter for napkins and ours brought some and dropped them on the table without a word. He never once checked on us. I had to go up to the bar where he was visiting with friends to order a glass of wine. We had to ask another waiter for our bill. He wasn’t friendly or attentive at all. Another table asked for the beer list which is on a big whiteboard and he set it on the floor so far away they couldn’t read it. The food was fine, but the service wasn’t. Also very noisy with a lot of yelling going on in the kitchen. But the Vikes won, and that’s the most important thing. Skol!

Love the coconut shrimp

I ordered the coconut shrimp, fries and coleslaw. The shrimp and coleslaw were very good. Not so much a fan of the fries, as they were different, maybe they were breaded or had some kind of coating. My biggest complaint would be the service. My meal was brought to the table by a young man, not our waiter. Our waiter never came to check on me the whole meal to see if I needed anything. I was never brought a napkin or silverware. I ate my shrimp and some of the fries, then was finally able to get his attention to ask for a napkin and silverware, so I could eat my coleslaw. He kind of chuckled and said something like, “oh yeah you didn’t get any.” No apology.

Fresh food with outdoor seating

My husband and I went on a Sunday night. We were seated quickly, and a server came right away. We ordered the fried mushrooms, and they came out hot and fresh. I also got the mahi sandwich, which was so good - there was a lemon dill sauce that was really flavorful and creamy. We loved all the food and it was lovely to sit outside along the canal. We will definitely come back during future trips.

Could Be Great But It Isn’t

We’ve been to Sharkys three time now over the past month - the food is pretty good but there seems to be an over all lack of attention to detail that if they could fix it, the place would be great. When you place an order, it seems to be a roll of the dice on what you will actually get. Our last visit it was several drink orders that were way off and had to be sent back, most recently it was both meals weren’t at all what we ordered. I’m not a picky eater and I’ll generally take whatever is brought without complaint, this is just too much for me. They were short staffed both time we’ve had problems, so you expect service to be slow and that’s ok, that’s not their fault and I’m not in a hurry. Use a tray so you don’t spill water and food, write things down so the order is right the first time, put a little effort into presentation so it doesn’t look like a cheap diner, and double check things before taking them to the table, etc.

A fun and casual spot on the water

We sat upstairs and, though the food was a little slow, it was delicious with large, filling portions at a very reasonable price. The beer selection was extensive and arrived quickly --which goes a long way in these days of short-staffing and long waits. All in all, probably the best dinner value in Key Largo.

Cocktails fine - food awful

This place was recommended to us by our snorkel tour guides but the food was actually pretty bad. I had coconut encrusted mahi which I would rate a 3 out of 5 but the rice it came with tasted terrible - my travel companion who also had the rice agreed - how can you screw up rice that bad-? My daughter had a steak which she described as “not very good” and her friend had the chicken strips that she described as “soggy”. The only things they did well were the fries and chips/guacamole. They did have a decent cocktail menu though. So fine place for stop for a drink but do yourself a favor and don’t eat here.

Great spot!

Liked the place so much we went twice during our visit. Menu has great variety and the food is free at. Customer service top notch even at busiest times. They cooked the fish we caught on our fishing trip and it was fantastic.

Loved this place. The food was very tasty and there was some more healthy options available if wanted. They had a very good live singer on the Thursday evening we were there which made a great holiday atmosphere with boats passing by in the background :-)

We couldn't even sit down

We arrived tired from Key West, and the hotel receptionist recommended this place to us, it was the only open kitchen. When we arrived to request a table, around 9:30 p.m., the waiter was overwhelmed with customer accounts. And without looking at our faces he mumbled and said he couldn't help us. And we left

Terrible service

I went here with my husband for lunch. We waited 15 minutes before walking up to the counter and asking if we needed to order at the counter. The woman was very rude stating if we wanted to eat there then we would have to order there. Another customer told me we could order from our table. She was so rude we had to leave. No idea if the food is good.

Not great at all

Eating dinner here was the worst experience we had on our Key Largo trip. The ambience was weird and a bit unwelcoming. Our server seemed annoyed that we came in at first but then she warmed up some. The food I ordered was awful -- the Sharky Bowl. I am NOT a picky eater but this meal tastes terrible and belongs on no menu. My drink barely had liquor in it. Visiting here was just a major bummer and would not recommend it to anyone.

LOVE THE WINGS!

I have been eating here for years! I stopped for a year or two but man when I came back, I realized I missed out on so much good food for that time ! I always start with the island grilled wings- The flavor is SPOT ON and they are always hot and crispy! The shark bowls are a nice addition to the menu. My bf and I like to eat a little more on the healthier side and not a lot of places offer and good whole foods and filling option. This shark bowl is just that! Cannot go wrong ordering it with the pulled chicken or the steak! (I always ask for double because it’s delicious) I have been back here 5-6x this month and will continue to do so!
