We just moved to Jupiter and beginning to explore for our "go to" restaurants. We tried Bistro for the first time on New Year's Eve, so maybe not the perfect time to first rate the restaurant but here are some observations. On the plus side: 1. Friendly introduction staff 2. Very good one list...order an excellent Pinot for California for $140 which was a 2003 vintage. Very good value for the money. 3. Fun outside dining and they had heaters to just take the nip off... 4. Some of the best soufflés I have ever had. Misses: 1. Poor wait staff. Water was just ok and clearly overwhelmed by the number of tables he was serving. We did not get our first drink until 30 minutes after sitting and our wine we order shortly thereafter until 45 minutes later after initially sitting down. We were not in a rush but that is way too long. 2. Staging of meals: after waiting 45 minutes for the wine, we got an our appetizers with 10 minutes and had hardly finished them when main course came out--no rest period between courses. Clearly kitchen was having a hard time staging meals. 3. Food honestly was just ok. We had a veal chop (perfectly cooked but rather unfavorable) and the duck (again cooked well but just ok.) Side dishes were terrible. 4. Bus buys just standing around doing nothing. So overall experience is mixed. Some below comment this is as good as NYC restaurants but I have disagree. No where near the quality fo the meal and the wait staff was disappointing.

Thank you for the feedback. NYE was not up to our usual standard, and we were a little short staffed, which led to some delays for a couple of tables, and I do apologize. I hope you give us another shot and make your self known to me so I can apologize in person and ensure a much more positive experience, which is our norm, as you can see from the general standard of reviews. Went on Saturday night for a nice place to eat. Was overwhelmed with the decadence, service and atmosphere! Tried a few appetizers, tempura soft shelled crab and lobster as well as the mussels. All had unique flavors and cooked perfectly. The guacamole on the lobster app was so fresh and flavorful. Oh, don’t let me forget the bread which was warm and tasty but the star was the liver pate that is offered along with the butter and olive oil options. The pate was creamy and delish! The mains were fantastic and then we had the soufflés, one chocolate and one grand manier (sp?). The chocolate sauce that came on the side should be sold by the tub. Truly a fantastic meal, some fun banter with the owner Declan and great conversation with the chef. I live in Boynton and need to make this a regular trip to support this biz. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent meal

Phenomenal meal last night to celebrate a friends birthday. Fresh warm bread rolls straight from the oven to start with. Murray’s chicken, filet mignon and snapper were excellent and the Grand Marnier soufflé was to die for!! Finish the meal with authentic Irish coffees (thank you Declan!). Service is excellent with servers checking frequently to ensure all is good. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a great night out at the Bistro.

A very pleasant experience!

I am very pleased with my dining experience at Bistro. I am a local and had not tried it before but I will definitely be making this restaurant one of my go to places especially off season. Ivan, our waiter, was outstanding. On top of it without rushing us or intruding in any way. Very professional! The menu is varied with delicious selections. Cocktails are awesome and the service fantastic. We just stopped by for a late lunch/early dinner and were pleasantly surprised to see a discount on the meal as they offer an early bird special discount on their food. You see regulars coming in and I can see why. Everyone is treated very nicely and the food is very good. My filet was perfectly cooked, the peppercorn sauce was terrific and the entire meal very delicious. Don’t miss coming in to try it when in Jupiter!

Really disappointed. Escargot was needed salt. My husband had the blackened salmon, no blackened spice in sight or taste. I had the strip steak with twice baked potato. My husbands steak at home is much better. Twice baked potato was a baked potato cut in half with a pile of mashed potato on top that was so unappealing. There was zero presentation on the plate, we do a better job at home. They must not have gotten the memo that food starts with your eyes. Not worth the cost and will not return.

We definitely try not oversalt as it is easier to add than take away, which would be an easy fix. The Salmon is one of our more popular dishes, It is possible you were brought one that was requetsed with no blackening for another table in error but it is definitely visible, the difference between one blackened and one not, so my apologies for that. I'm sure we could have rectified any issue for you given an opportunity on the evening given the opportunity. Our Twice baked potato is exactly that a baked potato cut and filled with piped potato puree with scallions and cheese and browned in the oven. Again very popular and we sell scores every night and no complaints in fact rave reviews. I'm not sure how you would like us to dress a steak and Potato as we do offer a choice of three sauces to accompany, but a steak is best left as a steak especially so the prime quality of the beef is appreciated. So it appears we get 1 star for not enough salt on the escargot and not enough blackening on the salmon. A little harsh I would say so I will give your review 3 stars as we always address any feedback. I'm a fan of a great steak so would be happy to come over and sample one of your husbands, and give you some feedback, they do sound awesome. I'm sorry you wont be returning but I am confident we would be able to produce a fabulous meal given some direction on how you like things seasoned and or plated. Please don't write us off based on this visit as your review is surrounded by 98% of our reviews giving us the highest recommendations..

Went on New Years Eve and had an exceptional meal.

Place started to get crowded by 6 PM and real crowed by 7. Service was good but the food was exceptional. I generally go there once or twice a year and always order the Dover Sole and my wife orders the Filet. This time with the restaurant busy the food was the best I ever tasted there or any place. I was so impressed that I joined their "club" today to remind me to go more often. The drink called a Light House was also exceptional. Very pleased.

Twelve of our social group sitting next to each other at tables of four on a lovely evening outside on patio. Menu is unique - items I haven't seen for ages - "lollipop" lamb chops, etc. SERVICE WAS 5 STAR! Dessert yummy. Don't miss out on a truly memorable evening!

Good Food but a Need For An Interior Refresh

We had a delightful dinner at Bistro last night. While the atmosphere of the main dining room was a bit dated and plain, the food was very good as was the service. I ordered the Beef Wellington, which is a specialty of the restaurant and my wife had the lobster raviolis. Both entrees were wonderful. In better weather, we would prefer to eat outside as the landscape was very nice. The restaurant seems to attracts an older clientele. I think that would change if management modernized the interior décor. Just a suggestion.

THE BEST RESTAURANT EVER

I have been going to the Bistro for over 20 years now. Lived in Florida since 1984. The Bistro is the BEST restaurant for the food, service, friendliness of the entire staff and owner, including some of their customers while there. I have taken family (from out of the state), customers and friends there for years. Recently, I brought a couple there for their anniversary (who are world travelers) and now they are a regular customer. i would recommend the BISTRO JUPITER for anyone who wants a great meal and a lot of fun. A very happy place.

Just been to the Bistro again, I’m coming there for many years, the quality of the food is outstanding and the prices are excellent. I really enjoy sitting at the bar and having a chat with the owner, he’s Irish but I don’t hold that against him at all. Try the excellent steaks “Pittsburgh style” and the soufflé, it never disappoints.

Not fresh food

Food was not very good and most frozen and not fresh. Way too expensive and totally not worth it. Lobster tempura was good but ALL others sub par. Even the bread was not fresh. Par baked junk. A shame because a nice atmosphere.

I am sorry just not at all accurate. No Frozen food here. Fresh Fresh Fresh. Do not par cook anything. Everything cooked to order. Bread is warmed in a bread warmer and served with Butter, Chicken Liver Pate and Garlic and Olive Oil Choices. Best fish in Palm Beach County (and beyond)

Been to this place several times and the service has always been very good; friendly, knowledgeable and timely. On our last visit my wife hade the lobster ravioli and it was impressive. I had the yellowtail snapper in parchment; OMG it was the best fish I had in decades. It was flavorful, moist yet flakey and overall a 10-10. Don’t forget to order your soufflé when you order your main dish; you don’t want to leave with having one. The Bistro has a nice atmosphere and surprisingly affordable for a restaurant of this quality. Can’t wait to go back!

Time and Time Again

Our first review was January 8, 2018 since then we have come back quite a few times. Allison has become our favorite bartender! We owned a Restaurant for 25 years and had six bartendenders on staff, they were all fantastic but I would hire her without question. Don't worry Declan we are retired. Disappointed twice.

I don’t understand why this place gets good reviews . The facility is tired without any attempts to hide that. Service was good. The food is mediocre at best. Snapper in pappiote was overcooked in its broth and vegetables. Very unattractive looking when opened. The Grand Marnier soufflé was clearly made from powdered egg whites and the texture was not light and fluffy but more like flan. Certainly couldn't taste any grand mariner. Just terrible.

LOBSTER RAVIOLI AND DOVER SOLE

We arrived for dinner early enough to beat the crowd, though it wasn't so crowded when we left, after a sumptuous meal. My wife and I shared orders of lobster ravioli and Dover sole. The raviolis were very tasty indeed. The sole was good but not outstanding. Pricey but worth it. Classy dining in a pleasant ambiance. We ordered white wine recommended by a staff member. Good service.
