Went for lunch midweek. Sat outside, beautiful view. Service was friendly and attentive. Great selection of European drafts. Will return!

Had a really good lunch on a beautiful breezy day!! Laura the bartender was friendly and we chit chatted. The german potato salad was probably best I've ever tried!! And the view was gorgeous!!
First impression was the outdoor tables were dirty, but the view was very nice. Unfortunately the smell of low tide created an unpleasant odor. We arrived at about 5:00 and found a table immediately, ordered drinks and our meal. Our wilted salads arrived about 15...minutes later. Over the next hour, a gentleman was seated as well as a party of 6. They were all served food within 10 minutes while my husband and I sat there for an hour. We asked another waitress to check on our order but no feedback was given. We finally got our disappointing dinner. My Bavarian Meatball was a lump of fried chopped meat with thick brown gravy. The spetzal had no flavor and there was no salt or pepper on the table, nor did anyone ask if we needed anything. My husbands schnitzel was equally bland and flavorless. I asked for a glass of water since I got some gravy on my sleeve but that never came. I finally walked to the car to get my water bottle when my husband told the waitress we were not at all happy with our experience…the waitress conveyed the manager’s apology but we will NOT be back.More
The Hoffmann is a popular German restaurant on the river in Jensen Beach. They have both outdoor and indoor seating. Outdoor is best if the weather is nice. They have a nice selection of German beers and traditional German specialties – I had Weiner Schnitzel...– very good. The service was friendly and efficient.More
We found this on Google search, we were thrilled to find an authentic German restaurant with outdoor seating. The restaurant did not disappoint, great view of the causeway, the beer was cold and the food was great!
I don't understand how they are labeled a German restaurant there is no German in their food more Italian Mexican Spanish American !!! The only thing they have German is some of their beers which were very expensive I have been three times with friends...and family we are all German they are not !!!!More
Went for dinner while visiting friends in Jensen Beach. We were there on a cloudy and windy day so we really didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor aspect of the place, but it was still nice. Sat at a table right off the water with...a fantastic view. We shared the Bratwurst entree, 2 grilled brats over sauerkraut with roasted potatoes and German mustard. We also shared an order of potato pancakes, served with sour cream and apple sauce. It was all very good. I also enjoyed a Hofbraeu Lager, which was fantastic! Recommended for German food and beer in sunny Florida.More
The property does not look appealing, but they have a great deck and waterfront area. The food is excellent. We had a fresh pretzel with cheese dip to start, very good. My husband had the goulash, very delicious. I had smoked salmon with potato pancakes....The smoked salmon was cold smoked and silky. Very good. The potato pancakes so so. Will go back when our appetites are better. The have assorted schnitzels which looked great.More
Wife and I stopped in during happy hour to get a drink and bite to eat (345pm). First time here Food-we both had Brats with a side of German potato salad. Brats were good, potato salad was on House wine- both a Cab and Sauv...Blanc tasted watered down. We decided to order a Blanc de Camarsac Bordeaux Sauv Blanc. Surprisingly, it also tasted watered down. Service-this came down to the young lady tending bar. Gone quite frequently and we (along with other customers we observed walking in) had to get up from our seats and put in our order. We aren’t very picky visitors but it makes no sense to return here Not recommendedMore
If you are going here in expectation of a German restaurant, it is a far cry from that. More like a falling down beach shed. HOWEVER, the food is excellent. Great German dishes, expertly prepared. Open air bar right on the river. this place is...definitely beyond casual - it is a dump. As long as you're prepared, I recommend it for the food.More
Just moved to Jensen about 3 weeks ago and this place has become an absolute favorite. The food is traditional German with some American staples, and very good! I've tried the Schnitzel, fried fish sandwich, bratwurst hoagie, fried Buffalo chicken sandwich, spetzle, curry wurst, and...the potato pancakes with smoked salmon is my absolute favorite. Have to add the pretzels look amazing too,, that's next on my list to try. Everything I've tried has been top notch! everything is homemade, made in house, and I found out all the meats are from a local butcher and the is seafood local as well. The kitchen staff knows what they're doing! The staff is very friendly, everyone is welcoming, very attentive, and super fun. Super casual atmosphere on the water where you could easily have large groups and even bring you beloved 4 legged fury friends. If you are a German beer lover, Hoffman has multiple rotating German beers 🍻 along with a very nice wine selection! If you love white white, they have a really good Sancerre and Grunier available. I give Hoffman 5 stars. Very happy to be in Jensen!! I've met some really great people and have had some great meals at this Jensen Beach gem.More
Have passed this restaurant many times and always wanted to try it as I have fond memories of eating in Germany. Finally, got to try it. Has a nice view of the Indian River Lagoon. Ordered what was my favorite café food in Germany -...Bratwurst and German potato salad. Neither was very good. The Bratwurst was skimpy and the potato salad had no bacon flavor. Service was OK. Will not eat here again.More
My favorite place in Jensen Beach to go sit on the water, grab amazing German/American food, and relax with the locals. It’s like Cheers on the water, where everybody knows your name. They also have an outstanding wine & beer selection. Always loved the charming,...historic building, very Old Florida!More
Beer and view were great. Picnic tables and other outdoor seating along the water. If you’re worried about Covid I’d say avoid. No help wears a mask. Beer was great but twice they didn’t have the German sausage for Currywurst. Potato pancakes were good but...schnitzel didn’t look anything like what we’ve had in Germany. (Or other German-American restaurants stateside) Too bad because I was in the mood for German food.More
My wife and I live in Port St. Lucie and we were looking for a place to have a drink, maybe eat, close to the water. This site appeared to offer what we wanted. Parking was good but everything else went to hell after that....The entrance is not identified so you have to find it. We walked in and even though staff were walking around, they did not greet us at all. We walked in and had to find our own seats. There was a waitress standing by the bar and she looked at us but offered no greeting. We had to ask for a menu and she looked like she was either tired or she was doing us a favor by coming to our table. I was already fuming and ready to fight but my wife was hungry so....We asked for a beer but maybe she confused us with Germans because they were warm. Now, if you have a business in Florida and you offer warm beer, well, my guess is you will incur the wrath of the locals and you won't prosper. The only place I have had warm beer was in the USMC and at the time, we were ready to drink anything. The staff acted bored. The cook looked like he had malaria. The food was taking its time and the smell of the low tide was like the Tijuana sewers. Finally, I told my wife we had to go or a repeat of the Battle of the Bulge was going to play out. Horrible ambiance. It reminded me of those few places, in Germany, where you are not welcome as an American. The only people who seemed to be fine looked like Aryan supporters. The whole ambiance was absurd, nasty, unwelcoming. Do not recommend you spend your dollars there unless you get misty eyed about Mein Kampf. This is not a German place. Most Germans I know are friendly and clean. Very correct, but friendly and clean. Not so this place.More
