This is always a great place whether it is the location in downtown Inverness or the location out SR 200 on the Withlahoochee River, between Hernando and Ocala. Great catfish, which you can get cornmeal only breaded. Almost always get the catfish dinner which come with four pieces of fish, fries (HATE their new coated fries - those of us... More

Good casual atmosphere. They always have lunch and dinner specials. Recommend reservations during winter snowbird season

Located right on the Square in downtown Inverness. My husband and I went in for a late lunch. Lots of things to look at on the walls. Large mouth bass, and gators to name a few. Good variety on the menu. I went with their specialty: fried catfish. Served with really amazing hush puppies, corn on the cob, baked potato... More

Cute place just off the historic square in the middle of town. Seafood mainly but everyone loved their selection. Conch fritters weren't that exciting but entrees were great. Full bar, able to accommodate big groups, good service.

If this is ranked 5 then there isn't much to say for Inverness restaurants. Our food was mediocore at best. I had the blackened grouper which was rubbery and an odd grey color. The sugar snap peas tastes like dirt and the hushpuppies were cold. The only good thing to say was my daughter's meal wasn't as bad as ours... More

Four of us went for dinner on Friday night and were seated right away. Started off with fried green tomatoes and smoked mahi dip, both were yummy. Our entrees included fried catfish, fried shrimp and fried oysters. Lots of really good seafood, the plates were so loaded we ended up with to go boxes. We will definitely be returning!

Good food and average service. Enjoyed the catfish. Hush puppies are okay. Steak sandwich was a little tough.

The food is wonderful, large portions and friendly wait staff. Downtown Inverness is a quaint small town and lots of walking to shoppes. All around good atmosphere.

I actually had my wedding reception dinner at Stumpknockers. The food is good, Staff is freindly and attentive. Its a bit higher in price but it is good food.
