When traveling through north FL we are always looking for a good place to stop to eat. This is our first time and will definitely be a stop in the future

To many people allowed in. No social distancing. Staff did not wear masks or gloves. Doesn't have air-conditioning or it's broken. Doors left open to outside.

Okay, here goes. When I have a less than stellar review to write, I always start by saying it pains me to have to write negative comments, but THAT is exactly why review sites are so valuable. You have to be honest and fair or...forget it. I dined solo at Shrimp Landing last night, without my Fab One. I arrived at 7pm, 2 hours before closing time. There were only a few tables taken, it was not crowded or busy. I found a cozy 2-top table and sat down. I waited patiently. As I watched the clock tick on it was a full 5 minutes before anyone came over. Several of the servers had noticed me. The first server simply took my drink order. Then after a bit a second server arrived. As the night wore on, it became evident I was going to have issues, so I chose to just let things happen, as they naturally were going to, without me complaining or asking for a manager. Sure, I could have asked for corrections but it became a moot point after the first few fails. (After ALL, you shouldn't have to complain to get things done right the first time!) So, as I mentioned, the First fail was slow response from the staff upon my arrival. Secondly, I asked for UN-sweet tea, but I got sweet tea. Thirdly, I ordered a cup of Clam Chowder. It 'would' have been pretty good but it was barely luke warm. Almost devoid of warmth. (As I was staring at this cup of soup, my server was nowhere to be seen HAD I wanted to tell her about it. I 'almost' hand carried it up to the pass, but decided to let things go naturally as I stated earlier). As if all that weren't enough, when the server came to discuss my meal options she let me know that they were OUT of both ALL YOU CAN EAT choices for the night. No ALL YOU CAN EAT Chicken Wings OR Beef Tips over Rice or noodles. With 2 hours to closing I felt disappointed in hearing this news, even though I had no plan on ordering either of them. Geez. I ended up ordering a Grouper Sandwich, which came with a handful of potato chips and a slice of dill pickle. The sandwich was deep fried crunchy with a bit of an off taste. Too pricey for what I got and I've definitely had much better. Overall, a bit of an underwhelming dining excursion. I drove quite a few miles so I could enjoy the sunset, the scenery and hopefully some good food. I scored 2 out of 3.....the sunset was amazing, the scenery was serene, but that food broke the mood.More

Shrimp landing cooked the food we ate in the lounge next door. Wife had the Caesar salad with mahi mahi. I had buffalo shrimp. Both quite good. Exactly what is described. Good home cooking with a smile and a laugh.

Poor service, clam chowder that sat all day was sour, waitress was unfriendly. They charged us a sharing fee. A place I’ll never eat at or recommend and I live close to this establishment

I'm sorry your visit was not to your enjoyable. Do you know the waitresses name? I will check into the chowder. What time of day were you there? I am assuming this was Sunday.

We stopped in here for lunch as we were traveling through. Little local diner in a don't blink or you'll miss it town on US19. At the turn off to Cedar Key, highway 24 junction. My wife had the shrimp tacos and they were good...but she said the shells could have been heated more. Shrimp was really good. It was served with potato chips. I had the shrimp basket and fries, also came with cole slaw. Really good shrimp, nice light batter on them. We also got 2 bowls of clam chowder to go and had it with our dinner in our room that night. Good chowder, nice flavour, lots of potatoes, could have used some more clams. Good service and prices. Locals were frequenting the place. Glad we stopped in.More

Nice local restaurant with great food. We had the fish sandwich and reuben and both were very good. A mix of locals and tourists and the staff were very welcoming and friendly.

The staff was great and attentive. And this place is kind of out in the middle of an area where there are not a lot of options. But ordered the daily special which was either fried or scampi shrimp. My husband got the fried and...I got the scampi. The coleslaw on the fried was mediocre but there was no scampi to the scampi! Cooked noodles with cooked popcorn shrimp. That’s it! No garlic, butter or lemon. Awful daily special. Don’t know about the rest of the menu but saw no reason to give it a second chance.More

Landing was recommended a few times - we finally gave it a try. Atmosphere was depressing and somewhat dark. And alas the menu had a heavy concentration of fried foods; Fried Mushrooms, eggplant fries, Green tomatoes, okra, deep fried pork tenderloin in addition to the...usual found in this part of Central Florida. New England Clam Chowder was bland and lukewarm. No bar, wine or beer. My peel & eat shrimp was a generous portion and companions grilled fish dinner was acceptable. Service was very good. So, if you are looking for fried food and want to get in - eat - and get out, give it a try.More

If you're looking for a hometown, old Florida atmosphere and food, Shrimp Landing has it. The service was good, food served fast, hot, and tasty. All with a price that won't break the bank. As a local, I've eaten here a few times but this...was my first breakfast meal. As usual the staff was warm and welcoming and the food was excellent. I recommend Shrimp Landing for breakfast or lunch. Mike Travel Thru My Eyes, Let's GOMore
