Along with dinner, ordered the crab and shrimp boats (formerly crab boats, same price), waiter never said they were out of crab even though we heard the bartender while we waited telling customers they were out of crab. I thought maybe they had it for...this appetizer since it wasn't mentioned but no, they just sold us a $17 appetizer with a few shrimp and zero crab. I would've preferred them being honest and ordered something else. I'm disappointed in their dishonesty, I know they just tried to get away with it no doubt. I refer people here all the time but now I've list trust.More

We went to dinner last evening and, as usual, it was crowded. They don't take reservations so we got on the list. They would not give anyone a time estimate but they take your phone # and state they will text when it's your turn....We waited 35 mins and noticed a party that came after us got called in. We went to inquire and were told they sent us a text and we didn't respond. We did not receive a text. They apologized and said we get the the next table. We waited another 10 mins and were seated. Server came fairly quickly and took drink orders. It was a good 10 mins before she came back to take dinner order. Then we proceeded to wait 45 mins for our food. And, frustratingly none of the meals were hot. I had a coastal Cobb salad with grilled shrimp and the shrimp was over cooked/rubbery. Taco meal which came with rice and beans which were cold. Fish fry also was luke warm at best. Only decent order was coconut shrimp which was a good temperature. When you wait that long you aren't about to complain and have to wait another 40 mins. We did tell our server, though. Disappointing and we will probably not go back anytime soon.More

Nice place on the beach, often has live music, friendly bar tenders in the Tiki hut. The food is marginal at best, the sun kills you in the afternoon.

I’ve been visiting Sams for over 20 years. The food was never the highlight, it’s the location, live music and cocktails that bring you there. However, that isn’t enough anymore to get me to go back. I came in January 2021 for lunch. That day...Sam’s had a grouper sandwich on the menu for $19.00. There was also a grouper entree at a higher price. Since I don’t get fresh fish very often I ordered the grouper sandwich and a cocktail. The cocktail arrived quite a while after I ordered it, and was tasty. After another long wait the grouper sandwich finally came to our table. I took a few bites of the sandwich and noticed a very strange fishy taste to the grouper. One of the other people dining with me took a bite of the fish too and confirmed that they thought the fish tasted very bad. When our waitress finally returned the table I told her that I thought the grouper wasn’t any good but she assured me the fish comes in regularly but would talk to the manager. About 15 minutes later the manager finally sauntered over to our table and I explained the situation. He replied that the fish had come in yesterday and that it was fine but he would go back and talk to the chef. After another lengthy wait the manager came back to the table and said I talked to the chef , the fish came in yesterday and we both agreed that it was fine. Well, even though the fish may have come in yesterday it doesn’t mean that the supplier kept it fresh or that it was still good or stored properly. He never once asked if he could replace the dish, do anything otherwise or offer any compensation. When another person at the table inquired about a refund he said nope, sorry and walked away. The waitress confirmed that the manager never gives refunds. What?! This has got to be some of the worst customer service I have ever encountered in my life. Obviously Sam’s has so much business that they don’t care if you wait forever to get a seat or that you wait forever for a cocktail or that you wait forever for your food. They also don’t care that when the food arrives it’s terrible. It’s too bad because Sam’s could be a very delightful place for the locals but it’s just not worth the headache. There are several quaint beach bars and restaurants nearby, and I will certainly patronize them instead in the future.More

Our first experience was a host whose customer service skills were horrible. They have a great system for notifying you of the wait time, but the host gave off an attitude that he did not like his job and didn’t care if we were there...or not. We decided to wait and we’re seated within 30 minutes which we thought was good. After ordering, we waited about 40 minutes for our food which wouldn’t necessarily have been a problem if it was really busy but we saw people who were seated after us who were served a lot quicker than us. Granted, I did order a salad and those are time consuming to prepare :). I generally go with the flow but the cilantro lime salad dressing had literally no flavor. I asked for a second option and the blue cheese was equally bland. To be fair, the shrimp Cobb salad was huge and had fresh ingredients and if they could get a decent dressing, I would definitely recommend it. The fish tacos were good and the kids’ chicken tenders were small and below average. Finally, my teenage son wouldn’t finish his hamburger which is a very rare event. He even took a Pepcid later that night because the greasy burger upset his stomach. Keep in mind he’s a bottomless pit who devours everything in reach whose stomach typically could serve as a trash compactor. Overall, you’ll enjoy the view but there’s a reason the place down the street called Ollie’s seems to be the locals’ spot. Locals seem to know where to go for good food/service/value and next time we’re going to try someplace else.More

Went to Sam's today (been the multiple times and no complaints) however, today was the worst. Btw service as in our waitress was amazing. So our kids order pizza, they bring a metal tin with parm, garlic, red pepper flakes. Once the pizza came to...table my husband took a slice and added red pepper. I noticed a bug on his pizza, closer examination it was bugs and maggots everywhere. We opened the jar of red pepper flakes and it was crawling with bugs and maggots. If they care that little to check the shakers, only image what your eating. Worst part, they bought us a new pizza and that wasn't the issue, it was the maggots in the shaker so we lost our appetite. Our entire experience was ruined but nothing was comped. Are you kidding me? And the fish and chip basket was burnt. Such a terrible meal, plan on calling the gm tomorrow. I can tell you I'll never ever ever go back regardless of scenery. NastyMore

Just an excellent experience all in all. Interesting drinks, extensive beer list, wonderful menu with lots of different options, and fantastic service all while sitting outdoors with a great breeze flowing. All servers masked, too. We'd definitely recommend the Pork and More "Sam"wich, the Super...Burger Melt, and the Fried Shrimp Po'Boy. Our friends had the Spicy Mango Margarita, I had a Spiked Pomegranate Frozen Lemonade, and DH had Jai Alai IPA. Total with tip was about $120. Maybe a bit pricey, but, it was a special occasion with special friends. Plus the portions were HUGE. Have a good time all of the time!!!!!More

What a great job they are doing social distancing people. Had dinner last night, beautiful setting. Food was ok. Great music, a little bit blues and great background music. Really nice evening.
