A buddy convinced me to go to Homosassa ,specifically at the Cedar Fish and Oyster Company. The doors open at 11:30. Folks get in line to line up for the ordering. No table service. One orders both beer and food. Hint: Order a bucket of five beers ($10). The steamed shrimp is manna from heaven, hot, tasty with melted butter... More

Just got back from a quick trip to Homosassa and our visit to "The Freezer" was one of the highlights of our week. If you are looking for a nice place with a waiter to meet your every need this is not the place for you. You wait in line to order food and beer, they take your name and... More

Pressed for time after a manatee tour, our group of 8 popped in for a quick bite while throwing caution to the wind. The stone crab were served warm with butter (definitely better cold with mustard sauce), but they were cheap, fresh, and tasty nonetheless. The beer was cheap and cold and came in buckets and the clam chowder was... More

Shrimp and steak on Wednesday evenings after 5pm. Garlic shrimp and snow crab. Best ever. Only locals know of it. Best kept secret in Homasassa fl It's known as the Freezer. Google Cedar Key Fishto get address.

This was my second adventure at this off the beaten path fish house that from the outside, you might be intimidated to enter; it doesn't look much like a dining establishment but it is always full of hungry seafood lovers. The steamed shrimp, smoked mullet and fish dip are some signature items. The beer is cheap and cold, and the... More

NOTE: If this review looks exactly like the one I wrote for The Freezer, it is. This is the same exact place!! Let's start with the good....the steamed shrimp are fantastic! 2lbs for $21 right about now. Served with butter and cocktail sauce. Skip the cocktail sauce and ask for their hot sauce...really good. The fish spread is really pretty... More

We've been to Cedar Key Fish & Oyster Company (also known as the Freezer) several times on visits to Homosassa and have never been disappointed. Their steamed shrimp are some of the most tasty we've had anywhere. This visit I tried their clam chowder in a bread bowl for something different and it was also delicious. Fun place to eat... More

If you like good seafood, at reasonable prices, this is your place. It's a dump, paper towels on the table, plastic drink glasses, Styrofoam dishes and great shrimp. Cooked to perfection. Best shrimp I've hadin a restaurant.
