Our friends took us here. They hadn' been for awhile. The place is interesting. A Victoria style that is very dated. We had a nice waiter but a tad inattentive. The food was only OK. Portions were small. Where we enjoyed the visit I would not return. If you can avoid the men's room I would. It was not pleasant.

First off, the wine was terrible and way overpriced for a very small pour. True, it does appear to be "eclectic" and romantic at first glance. If it were not so dimly lit, I think that you would be surprised at how dirty it really is. There was hair in the bread--yuk! A half hour after we placed our order... More

I have been going here with my sister for the last 7 years and food is always delicious. I like the elegant modern look it has, and the decorations are lovely. It is very unusual to see a resturaunt like this, which is unique. I like the staff, they are all family, and they always appreciate your business. I would... More

This place is incredible: something out of an old Victorian era novel. The setting is simply exquisite, the décor charming, and the ambiance is enchanting. The food is a wonderful mix of German and French. The wine selection is delectable.

Smelly, dark and dirty restaurant, Brought my French mother here as I thought the food would be a nice surprise! Our food choices were awful. Beef Wellington was tasteless and wrapped in what can only be described as a greasy crepe!!! Instead of a nice crisp pastry. No pate or mushroom on the fillet, just a mushroom gravy that resembles... What can I say about this restaurant that doesn't sound cliché? Amazing, amazing food, atmosphere that is charming, quiet, and limited to just a few tables. We were a party of 7 and everyone was thrilled. It was a festive annual holiday gathering with my book club, and La Cote Basque invited me to bring my own bottle of champagne... More

Dined there last evening. Half the table settings, like knives were missing. Not very clean, horrible service. We ordered Veal Picatta and it was tough.

Very pleasant evening! Food was hot and delicious, we had the Spanish Shrimp and Veal Cordon Bleu. We each had a glass of wine and shared the Black Forest Cake for dessert. Service was excellent and very friendly. We used a restaurant.com coupon, but dinner was still expensive. Definitely and special night out restaurant for us.

This restaurant has survived the test of time -- 40 years. It is French with a German/Italian twist, if that is possible. The menu is varied and the service is excellent. They also have an early bird menu at very reasonable prices. We had a half carafe of Chianti and enjoyed a nice wine at a good price. We will... More

We stop here once a year while on vacation. The ambience is fun. The schnitzel Holstein was fabulous. my wife's chicken piccata was tasty but the amount of chicken was much less than usual. The vegetable are fresh and each have unique tastes. The only downside was that it's the first time we left la cote basque still hungry.the fresh... More
