We have been fans of the Paramount for some time, but have not eaten here as often as we should, mostly because it is downtown, and thus inconvenient. But that is our loss. The Paramount is in the top two or three of Gainesville's finest restaurants, perhaps the very best. That this listing rates Harry's above the Paramount says something... More

As a visitor to Gainesville, we relied on TA's recommendation and decided to try this establishment. It was Sunday evening. There were only a few souls in this part of old Gainesville. When we walked up to this restaurant, we thought it was closed because there was no one inside. We went away and only when we walked passed it... More

A Gainesville friend introduced us to Paramount for a late Saturday lunch at this downtown gem. I had the southwestern salmon salad and asked to take off the goat cheese, which they did happily. Lots of goodies included with beautiful lettuce and a ridiculously perfect piece of salmon on top with sliced avocado. My niece had the braised bison short... More

Always a nice quiet elegant setting. Nice selection of wines, appetizers, entrees and desserts. Not glitter and flash, just a nice relaxing place to visit with another couple to enjoy an evening of good food and good friendship. Pricing is fair for fine dinning.

This is my favorite restaurant in GNV. I have brunch/lunch/dinner here at least once a month. The setting is just as important as the meal, and Paramount gets it right. They've created a cozy, intimate environment that coaxes you into experiencing the moment. Every menu item is constructed with thoughtful and passionate detail. I've taken several people here over the... More

We weren't planning to eat at the Paramount Grill, but as we were walking by, the view of the dining room through the old windows drew us in. Our server was great and was very knowledgeable about the dinner menu. The food was fresh and delicious, but pretty pricey. We'd eat there again for a special occasion.

We had an excellent dinner and it was a really nice fine dinning experience with great service. The menu is not extensive but has a good enough variety we all found something to really like. The wine list is pretty good. The meal starts with biscuits which are touch salty (should be served more with a cream then the flavored... More

Dinner with four friends turned into a delicious experience. I had the house special of locally sourced chicken, perfectly roasted with herbs and a light sauce, grilled asparagus and a cup of mushroom soup. (Would have loved a lot more mushrooms rather than a few.) The Mexican chocolate mousse was superb along with rich, dark coffee. Our server was also... More

This place was a puzzle. Our B&B owners had recommended it and I'd checked it out in advance and menu looked good, as did the reviews. But the great puzzle were the MASSIVE quantities of food - literally almost a joke. I had a starter of toasted (not grilled) bread with goat cheese, olive tapenade, sun-dried tomatoes and grilled peppers... More
