I have been traveling to Gainesville regularly for business lately and make it a point to always stop by Amelia's. They have a great variety of Italian dishes, salads and libations. Personally I love their marinara sauce on selections such as Fra Diablo, eggplant and chicken parmigiana but you can't go wrong with their lasagna, pesto or other dishes either.... More

The dining room is nice and neat, white table clothes add some elegance. The staff was good and the food was yummy! The food was very very good. The chef came around afterwards for a quick check and chat. We visited to celebrate my wife's birthday. We left happy.

My wife and I visited Gainesville for the first time. Amelia's was a short walk from the B&B (Camellia Rose Inn) that we were staying at. The food and service was excellent. We will recommend and revisit.

Not what we were led to believe by the reviews. We had a reservation for 9 and were seated promptly. Everything after that was slow. It took 2 hours and 15 min from the time we were seated to get our entrees, and mine was wrong. I ordered veal and got chicken. When I sent it back, it took less... More

I remember dining here about 25 years ago and said I would never go back. But after 25 years I had forgotten why I would never go back. You see I know how to cook Italian cuisine and really I have never been to a good Italian restaurant from Central Florida on up to the Florida Georgia border in the... More

My son was graduating from UF in August, and I wanted to have a nice dinner for him with our family and friends. After having researched and read the reviews, I chose Amelia's. Of course, I was somewhat nervous, having booked the reservation sight unseen and never having dined there. Well, I can tell you that not only was the... More

Manager and staff were extremely accommodating for a birthday dinner for 10. Service was great and they let us bring in an outside birthday cake. Atmosphere enabled great table conversation and everyone enjoyed their meals. Great location in downtown Gainesville.

Being a food snob from NJ and now living in south Florida, I could not predict that an Italian Restaurant in Gainesville would be anything to write about. Quite honestly, I was hoping for decent. But to my great surprise, this restaurant is really good. We were lucky to find this place and we eat here every time, we visit... More

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere with white linen table clothes. The space is a little tight however, with not much distance from the entry way to the closest table. Prices are about $18-19 up for Pasta which isn't a real expensive item to fix. Of the four of us I got the Salmon with spinach which was excellent and... More
