My son was graduating from UF in August, and I wanted to have a nice dinner for him with our family and friends. After having researched and read the reviews, I chose Amelia's. Of course, I was somewhat nervous, having booked the reservation sight unseen and never having dined there. Well, I can tell you that not only was the... More

Manager and staff were extremely accommodating for a birthday dinner for 10. Service was great and they let us bring in an outside birthday cake. Atmosphere enabled great table conversation and everyone enjoyed their meals. Great location in downtown Gainesville.

Being a food snob from NJ and now living in south Florida, I could not predict that an Italian Restaurant in Gainesville would be anything to write about. Quite honestly, I was hoping for decent. But to my great surprise, this restaurant is really good. We were lucky to find this place and we eat here every time, we visit... More

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere with white linen table clothes. The space is a little tight however, with not much distance from the entry way to the closest table. Prices are about $18-19 up for Pasta which isn't a real expensive item to fix. Of the four of us I got the Salmon with spinach which was excellent and... More

I have eaten at Amelias many times and it is always amazing, the chef is super nice and alwasys comes out and greats guests and thank them for coming to eat! I am all around impressed, only down side is they are closed on Mondays but I guess they need to rest for one day.

Enjoyed an magnificent dinner before the Thomas Center Blue Grass Concert. Four of us shared a bottle of wine and then a 1/2 carafe which complimented the meal nicely. We shared a calamari appetizer which as truly great. George had the Surf and Turf and raved about the steak several times, the last as we were leaving the concert. His... More

We just left Amelia's. I found this restaurant because I needed to find a place that could accommodate our dog as we were traveling through the area. Our children had to eat and we could not leave the dog in the car especially in the Florida heat! We did not want to eat fast food. Anyways, I called and spoke... More

Maybe i expected too much but this food was not worth my time or money. Blan appetizers, house salad lacking flavor and anything but chopped greens.... my wifes pasta entree was a starchy mess. We will not be returning and I am upset that I have lost 1 meal out of my life to this establishment. I would rather have... More
