We had the chicken korma- medium spiced- and for the price of $12.99, there may have been 7 pieces of 1" dark meat chicken and lots of bland sauce. I am not sure why everyone says this is a great place, because even the naan...was soggy.More

I ordered (home delivery) chicken biriyani and lamb vindaloo. In the entire helping of biriyani there were 2 tiny morsels of chicken that too dry and stale. The lamb vindaloo was mostly just a potato curry with 2 extremely chewy tiny pieces of lamb. One...of the worst meals I have EVER had. I spent $40 for food I wouldn't even pay $10 for. Terrible!More

Lunch buffet was packed and crowded (that's a good sign!). Not much room to maneuver along the food aisle (without brushing into other customers or hitting the tables alongside), quite uncomfortable. Had to wait a few minutes for empty seat/table. Had to wipe the sticky...table myself. Its either they got slammed or they're short staffed. The hallway leading to the restrooms needs some bleaching/sanitizing. I can see why its mobbed. Its not a grand buffet; the selections are sufficient, the food is tasty and a great value. I saw goat & chicken but no lamb (at least during my visit). There were a group of 5-6 students that walked in and in minutes, the butter chicken tray was devoured. Had to wait for it to be replenished. They deliver the naan bread nice and warm to your table. I didn't see the green chutney; didn't see the dessert rice pudding either... only the gulab. The samosas (despite being a bit greasy) were my favorites. Definitely a do-over. Hopefully, the food selection changes. Highly recommend a visit perhaps earlier or later to avoid the hungry crowds.More

I had ordered chicken Tikka once before. This time I came at lunch and took advantage of the buffet. They have a good variety of vegetarian and meat, salad and dessert. I tried the rice pudding with the sweet balls and it was delicious 😋...Good prices and friendly staff. I’ll keep coming back.More

Delicious is the word that describes this very resonably priced buffet. Chef Noori and her son Ray run this family owned business and put out some delicious food. While you can order from the menu, the buffet provides excetional value for $10, which includes a...soft drink and fresh, hot nann delivered to your table. The day we were there the buffet included a modest salad, soup, 5 vegetarian dishes as well as several chicken, goat and lamb dishes. The Goat Vindaloo and Lamb Express were among my favorites while friend enjoyed seconds of the Tandoori Chicken and Chicken Masala. Ray delivered hot, buttery naan to our table when we were seated and returned with more as we demolished our first basket. We were too full for the rice pudding dessert, but saw many others partaking. Please set your expectations accordingly. This may be a small, rustic, family run restaurant but the food is delicious and the family is warm and welcoming. Street parking may be a little difficult on University Avenue, but there is parking and a back door entrance behind the building. Please note the dinnerware is plastic and the plates disposable. But do not let this keep you from trying their delicious food with exceptional flavors. You won't be disappointed.More

Great news Gainesville! Tikka Express, a new Indian restaurant just opened up on University Ave. a few blocks east of UF and it is authentic and amazing! Not a fancy place by any means but real home cooking Indian style. They have a regular menu...and also a modest but flavor packed buffet ($9.75) complete with dessert and unlimited nan and drinks. If you like Indian food you need to check out Tikka Express!More
