Stopped by on a Friday night of a home game weekend. Busy but they kept up with good friendly service. Had a "supreme" pizza. It was very good. Not too heavy on the sauce so you could really enjoy the plentiful ingredients. Fresh garlic could have been a little lighter though. I'll be back.

The pizza by the slice is a great lunch option. If they have it fresh, try the meatball slice. On to the more important detail, sweet potato fries. Just, holy crap. They're outstanding. They aren't on the menu, so remember this post and ask for them.

Spinach salad very fresh and excellent. White pizza with garlic, tasty and at a fair price. Not a large selection of beer, but acceptable. Server Juan was fast and friendly. Would visit again.

Great food. And we had Juan, the best server. Great prices and the food was wonderful. We got small pizza and small Stromboli and they were both more than we could handle

Can't beat the quick lunch time special. In and out in 30 minutes. Friendliest staff ever. If you not in a rush the Calzone is phenomenal. I also have enjoyed the meatball sub.

Nice place in a vibrant downtown setting. Lots of outdoor seating under the trees. Good pizza and salad at fair prices. Service was fine. We would return.

Big Lou's is a casual, comfortable place downtown. Have been there several times with friends and I always get a slice & salad. The servings are huge & tasty - New York style pizza. And salads are served with yummy garlic rolls. Prices are quite affordable. Service has always been good, and when the weather is cooler it's a great... More

Great pizza - I've tried "new york style" pizza at other places and none compare. The salads are very good too - try the raspberry walnut salad, it's like eating a dessert that's good for you! The wait staff are just awesome - friendly and super-prompt! This is one of my favorite places!

The NY pizza was tasty. Eggplant could of been better, but the sauce was good with plenty of cheese. It came with a nice sized salad and the side of spaghetti that came with the eggplant was plentiful. Very relaxful sitting outside.

Description
Going ten years strong with a menu designed to make mouths water and a location that embodies Gainesville's Downtown area, Big Lou's NY Style Pizzeria comes from humble beginnings. As many local start-ups do, Lou's developed into the reputable pizza spot it is today through a patient process. Lou Wynn, or "Big Lou" himself, is originally from South Florida but was no stranger to Gainesville. Graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Health Science, Lou eventually decided to pursue the food industry. He was so inspired to build up his own restaurant (with the help of his supportive wife, Mary) that he was willing to do whatever it took to make it work - and even went as far as selling his car to pay for the original costs. Biking to work for the first few months of business is a whole new level of dedication... Nearly one decade and thousands of pizzas later, Lou's is constantly growing (currently under renovation!) While staying true to its warm and welcoming hometown roots. With a close group of team members, fun atmosphere and fresh ingredients that make our variety of menu items so satisfying, we promise any Lou's experience to leave you happy, full, and excited to come back again.
