Great Family Restaurant

We go to Moon Dog 2-3 Saturday’s a month. They have great specialty pizzas including a respectable Chicago deep dish. They also have pizza by the slice, a generous portion that they do a kids cut for the little ones. Our four year old begs to go largely because of the staff. Even when a particular server is not in our section, they will go out of their way to say hello to him. Family friendly and budget friendly, Moon Dog is a great place to relax and enjoy good food.

Took my family here last night because of a recommendation from my coworker we opted for seating on the patio. The hostess was very welcoming and sat us quickly and our waitress was at our table about a minute after we sat. We told Amanda it was our first time there. From the very jump she made us feel so welcome. She treated us like friendsnot customers. My grandbaby was cranky so she quickly pointed out the kids menu and told us about how they cut slices up into little triangles and asked us if we'd like to get babys food in 1st either shes a mum or shes just that good at what she does. Being from Chicago and hearing good things about the chicago pizza here was main reason we were here. Definitely did not disappoint. My daughter has a dairy allergy and Amanda went above beyond to make sure she knew she could still get her chicago pizza by opting for dairy free cheese. She really took her time with us and answered all our questions even though it was busy we never felt rushed. Beer was cold and our drinks were never empty yummy yummy food with a very nice staff. Our new go to pizza spot in Jax!

Large tasty wings

Personally, I like their wings - large, tasty, not overcooked, and prepared in a number of ways. Good calzones and stromboli as well. I've been there a number of times and haven't tried their pizza yet. And reasonable beer too. Recommend.

Excellent Service Ok Pizza

The service was wonderful, warm, friendly. I like that. Thank you. The pizza was just ok for me. I'm not and haven't ever been a fan of sweet tomato sauce based pizza. It was otherwise bland as well. I was expecting a pow and got a fizz. This is a review for their thin crust pizza. Underwhelming over priced. If the same sauce is used for Chicago style pizza I'm going to pass on trying. The pizza was not a hit for me. Which is why I went for pizza and service. Although the pizza wasn't my favorite I definitely want to praise the staff and management on great service.

Good Pizza.

Pizza was good, crust could have been a bit more cooked on the bottom for me, sauce and cheese were o.k. As a well seasoned traveler and diner its hard to ignore seeing the little things that separate a memorable dining experiences from a forgettable one. Our server had blinders on when called for her as she passed by my table, she had a purposeful stride only to go behind the counter and stand there and do nothing, Also the servers need to remember wash their hands after busing tables and holding soiled tableware or holding the used empty soda tumblers by the rim. Wearing masks is a mere placebo when the simple standard hygiene procedures are ignored.

Good pizza; good service.

Good pizza; good service. Found this small pizza joint between ball field visits...ordered the giant slice with salad and a drink for all 3 of us...the staff and owner were super friendly, prices were great and food good. Also had their “frickles” which were good and came with a unique but good slightly spicy dipping sauce. Definitely on the recommended list. BTW our 3 ate a good size meal for $34!

Fun Pizza Place

Always great pizza at Moon Dog. We had the large thin crust cheese pizza. Cooked just right, crust nicely browned but not burnt. Cheese and sauce were tasty, with good tomato flavor. Atmosphere eclectic and fun, booths comfortable, staff attentive. Good number of TVs displaying a variety of sports. Outdoor seating also available on the patio.

Best server and food in the area

I, (we), are regular diners who eat here at least two times a week and mostly three. The one major thing that brings us back is the service from their best server, Susie, she is very attentive to all her customers and treats them as if they are family. She really cares and is the best and the food is good too.

Excellent to hang out

My husband and I went there for the first time last night. Wow, love the place. Just the two of us, we ordered 4 things; chicken wings, lobster artichoke dip, BBQ pizza, and eggplant dish because I wanted to try everything. All of them were very good. There are so many other dishes that we want to try, so next time. In addition, the service is good, but long wait.

Lasagna is fabulous

I had my food delivered by one of the services and it was delicious. My meal came with two large slices of garlic bread which was good. There was enough lasagna for two meals. The sauce over the lasagna was quite tasty. I highly recommend it.

Great food, cold beers and Amanda is the server you want for fast wit jokes and great service. The deep dish pizza is a must have. On the lighter side the mighty meatball salad is amazing too.

Amazing food and service! Large portions at reasonable prices.

Great local family place. Large menu , indoor/outdoor! We’ve been going for years. Consistently great service. We enjoyed Stevie and Jami’s service. Both were very pleasant and attentive. Their monster meatball is the bomb! They have daily specials and all portions are huge. They’ve got the biggest crispiest wings and many pizza choices too! We frequent Moon Dog at least twice a week! Wonderful Visit

We stopped by Moon Dog tonight on a whim. It's been awhile since we've been there, we don't get to St John's very often. They were very busy but I was amazed at how quickly we got our food. Our server Amanda was amazing and super friendly. We will definitely be back.

3rd time there. First takeout. Always wonderful food & always a friendly staff. Took home some cake & pie for the first time, also the best we ever had. We will keep going back for takeout until the virus precautions are lifted. Then it's back to dining in our Favorite Pizza Restaurant..
