We live in the area for the winter. We found this place via some Google reviews and Trip adviser and instead of going to some of our regular places for dinner, we decided to give the the Parrot Key a try primarily because of its location to take some guests to. Its down towards Fort Myers beach, and has plenty of parking. The restaurant sits on a marina, and faces west for a nice sunset. Its is NOT directly on the beach. We were a party of 4, two couples.
So we ordered a Crab-cake to share, and a Crab and Avocado Stack for appetizers. One of the diners, ordered this as her main meal. Another diner ordered the "Grilled Mango Shrimp Skewers", and the gentlemen ordered the stuffed Sole one in a full portion ($20) and one in half portion ($16). The Crab-cake starter was good, it had enough crabmeat, and was spiced tastily.
The Crab and Avocado stack (which looks nothing like the photo on this site by the way) was just not very good, it had too much dressing and was much too sweet. It might have made a good appetizer, as the portion size and sweetness were appetizer qualities but in this case it was overpowered by the dressing.
The Mango Shrimp skewer meal, came with 5 medium size shrimp, on a bed of rice. Again, a very small portion for the high price. Not recommended. The stuffed Sole came in two sizes (both quite small for the price) and was tasty. It was dressed with a crabmeat filling which was good, but nothing to blow you away.
The table had four drinks and the bill was about 150$ for 4 diners.
This restaurant is WAY overpriced from what was delivered! However we understand the snowbird rates that establishments put on their offerings from November to April, and in particular, affects the Canadians who pay 35% plus on the exchange. The prices will change in off-season, I am sure.
Again, the view here at the Parrot Key was nice, the weather was good and the service was friendly and prompt. There was a gift shop attached to the restaurant, and if the food wasn't enough to fill you up, you could fill up a bag of trinkets, souvenirs and key rings reminding of the time you ate at the Parrot Key, Fort Myers!

I'm not easily impressed but this place impressed me. This restaurant is definitely hidden but sits right on the water. Perfect! There was live music 🎶 with a decent singer. He got the crowd going which is always a good time. I ordered the coconut shrimp. It came with a raspberry sauce which was delectable! Honestly the perfect food pairing! (Do I dare say this meal was better than Boathouse?!) I asked for onion rings as a side. This is not on their menu but they made them anyway and did not up-charge me. Just for that, I'll be back. My boyfriend had a burger. It was just a burger but the fries were the big, thick, potato wedges. Loved them! We ordered the banana cheesecake for dessert. This cheesecake is a fried cheesecake (similar to fried ice cream). Impeccable. Their menu is a little pricey, but well worth it! The manager came by a few times to help our waitress who was consumed by a large table. What restaurant actually has help from their managers!!?! Another impressive move. My only complaint is, if you're going to call yourself a Caribbean oasis, play Caribbean music. This place does have a tiki bar that unfortunately, due to covid19, is closed. I heard some Caribbean sounds coming from either the tiki or the putt-putt golf next store, either way I think once the bars are back open, we will frequent this place.

Located on a beautiful boat-filled marina, this quiet restaurant is easily accessible to beach and hotels. The decor was Caribbean with colorful plaster parrots hanging from the ceiling. Our party was immediately seated in socially distanced seating. The waiter introduced himself and presented us with a varied mostly seafood menu. We started with cocktails and oysters on the half shell. Wow! The food service was fast and efficient and served by a friendly waiter. We were allowed to dine and enjoy the marina and lagoon views. There was live music in the background. Definitely, this is a go-to again restaurant.

Let me say that I emailed the restaurant to ask what night the Prime Rib special was. I received a reply that it was every Wednesday from 4 until 8 pm. Subsequently I made dinner reservations for 6:15 Wednesday evening. Our party of 6 arrived and were seated quickly, our drinks ordered and now ready to order dinner. To our disappointment the server told us the kitchen manager went on vacation and no one followed thru with ordering and food preparation. Wow one person goes on vacation and the restaurant implodes!
We regrouped and I ordered the Coconut Lime Mussels and the Beet Salad both were delicious.
The pictures are not good due to the lighting in the restaurant.

Horrible service, mediocre food. Very high prices. Great location, great decor, but that is all. Meals for two were brought out stone cold, when asked, heated by microwave, making shrimp very tough. Other meals not even brought out until other people were finished eating. Staff offered no apologies ar any attempt to ameliorate the problems. Strongly recommend no one ever eat there. Poor food , horrible service, stupid high prices.

We were there with about 30 other people, and for a group that size they did a good job making sure that people got food and drinks The atmosphere is good and a lot of the tables are close to open air. My biggest problem is that our waiter was wearing one of those stupid little plastic shields that offer zero protections for anyone. In case the management hasn’t gotten the memo, Florida set a new record for new cases for Covid yesterday. If I had my own transportation, I would have left.

Boat ride was absolutely incredible. The timing we felt rushed so that was disappointing. We had reservations at 6:30 and had to board the boat by 7:45. We were limited on food for the boat which was okay but when it says one crab leg, it’s one single crab leg. My steak was cooked great but the others in our crew wasn’t. The captions on the bot ride were very friendly with our family and the kids in our group. I’d like to go back and eat without the boat ride to enjoy the restaurant itself.

We had a large part Our service was quick and the staff attentive to our need to be out in time for our pirate cruise. Our waiter, Luke, took care of us checking back often. The food was good but one party member was disappointed in her dish. There was more sauce than lobster ravioli cost of the dish. The portions large and tasty.

Very cool vibe here, great location with very good food and excellent service. Went here several times and enjoyed it each time. We always had very good service and Jill was one of our favorites. All the food ordered by out group was very good the prices are fair and drinks cold. I loved the pulled pork sandwich and all the fish is good here. Highly recommended.

We had the best time at the Parrot Key Caribbean Grill! It has the tropical vibe right on the water with great music, drinks, food, and service. Alec was our server the first time, which was what brought us back the second time. He is very attentive to detail and anticipates what a patron would want in a perfect visit to Parrot Key Caribbean Grill! Thanks again!

Parrot Key is rather buried on San Carlos Island, off the main route to Fort Myers Beach, near many shrimp dealers. If you find it, you are probably on your way to the Key West ferry or on the Pirate's cruise for kids. That said, it offers a nice Macadamia-encrusted Grouper for under $30 that could feed two. Good service, too, though the mixed drinks are rather anemic. And, once you find Parrot Key you are right on the bay, which has pretty views--it's worth the search.

My wife and I went for lunch at approx. 1:15pm - we sat outside. It took a long time to get service. After ordering it took a while to get our salads. After the salads arrived, my wife noted that she barely had dressing on it. It took me going to ask someone for salad dressing. The server never checked back until he brought the check (of course). The portions were small.....the price was high and I would give the salads a D- at best (since I was a teacher). When we went there last year it was really good but not this year. I doubt that we will return and would not recommend the place.

We had lunch at Parrot Key, and the overall experience was pretty good. I got the coconut shrimp dinner, with the lobster forno appetizer, and my wife got the avocado crab stack appetizer as her meal. The coconut shrimp were as good as any that I've had in the greater Fort Myers area, but the kettle chips that came with it were disappointing. They didn't appear to be homemade, as some of them had ridges and others were just sliced. Also, some were stale. My wife enjoyed the crab stack very much. We shared the lobster forno, and it was very disappointing. It was mostly bread crumbs and toast points. The "lobster" seemed almost slimy. It cost the exact same amount as the crab stack and did not measure up. I would never order the lobster forno again. I gave a rating of 3 out of 5, but overall, the experience was good enough for a 3.5 out of 5.

We limit the restaurants we visit to places which have comfortable, socially-distanced, outdoor seating. That is a shorter list than you might think.
On a friend's recommendation, we ventured to Parrot Key Caribbean Grille for dinner tonight. We were very pleased with the food but the lead story here is the awesome service that we got from Shawn. She had lots of tables, but she was all over it. She was friendly (naturally friendly, not it's-my-job friendly) and attentive to every table. And the service was very fast: we received out meals in less than 15 minutes from when we ordered, maybe 10, in the middle of dinner hour. Keep this in mind if you have some tired kids!
And make sure you ask for Shawn. We will definitely make a return visit to Parrot Key and without a doubt, we will be sure to sit at one of Shawn's tables.

It’s been my Wife and my family tradition to have lunch here at least twice during our Fort Myers Beach stay at Island Towers.
However I guess we will start another tradition at a different restaurant. We always get the Conch Chowder and sweet potato fries.
Our very sweet waitress told us that the new management eliminated the sweet potato fries. We couldn’t believe it! So we just ordered the conch chowder. It used to be very good and came out in a bowl. Well, it came out in a bread bowl and the chowder was just mediocre. The bread soaks up the soup and the flavor and you have what I would consider a terrible soup. And my final complaint is the tea, which came in a very small plastic throwaway cup. The tea was $3.89 each. Sorry Parrot Key you’re marked off our list I’m sad to say.
