Here is a great location although very very difficult and dangerous to park in season because your backing onto old 41 highway (really a street here but still not good), Then what you will find is VERY good food however, on many occasion (i assume because they only use family labor or for some reasons can't find good help ?)... Awesome atmosphere and fantastic food!! Never judge a book by its cover!! All food is made from scratch, so food prep is a little longer than normal, but well worth it!!

The food was mediocre at best. The service worse! Don't ask me about my poitical views while I'm dining. The poitical statement on the sign should have been a huge red flag. Just gove this place a pass.

My fiancé and I have been to Ft. Myers twice. Every time we go we have to visit Maria's. The absolute best seafood ever! A local recommended this place and we love it. It's a little sketchy looking, but the food is soooo good!

A bit of Cajun food, very well prepared, but now closed. Go to Maria's Backwater a little further down San Carlos Blvd.

As many reviewers have noted, this place is not easy to locate and not particularly inspiring on the outside, but it is by far the best food in the area. Maria's recipes are Cajun-inspired and authentic. I have reviewed this place in the past and feel obligated to do so again because it is so 'old Florida' and so very,... More

Don't let the front door stop you. Come in, sit down and read the menu. The decor is quaint, Maria is very accommodating and the food is outstanding! Biggest meaty King Crab legs, delicious soft shell crabs, Gumbo to die for. Also Grouper and French Fries crisp and delicious.

This is a gem that is easy to drive by. The exterior of the restaurant does not convey a sense of fine dining and, once inside, neither does the interior. However, the food is among our fondest memories of our two-week stay on Sanibel Island. A few of the dishes have won awards from the local culinary community including the... More
