The real test of a small restaurant is when a large party is to be served. As a group of 12, we were amazed at the quality of the food and the excellence of the service. One of us had the snapper topped with mushrooms and tomatoes. The fish was cooked to the correct temperature and doneness, and the sauce/topping was light but flavorful. Another had the papperdella - wide pasta with a full-bodied but not overwhelming mushroom sauce. The mozzarella and tomato salad was perfect - the cheese was fresh with the buffalo type taste, and the tomatoes were flavorful and vine ripened. The homemade bread was excellent as well. Equally as important, each guest was made to feel as if they were individually important, and the service for the large party made it seem like each guest was an individual. This is a real hidden gem.

Been in FLL for years and have never stopped in and we finally did last night for dinner. What a treat! We found our new Italian favorite! With little touches like the owner coming around to introduce himself and seeing the regulars talk, laugh and just enjoy life made us fall in love with this place. A great menu with something for everyone. Great priced wine and absolutely delicious food, we will be coming back again and again! We felt so welcome here! Must give a shout out to our waitress who never stopped from beginning to end. A piece of Italy right in the heart of Fort Lauderdale!

Wife and I both liked our dishes. Can’t say it was the best carbonara I ever had, but it filled me. Slow enough service that it seemed food was made fresh. Wish we had been hungry enough to order an appetizer!

With its friendly, attentive staff and a nice, reasonably priced wine selection, Café Italia is a neighborhood Italian restaurant that will win you over with its high quality, well prepared dishes. Owner Francesco has been greeting guests here for over 25 years. It's a small family operated restaurant where you can hear Italian spoken and all dishes are made to order.
Word of mouth is how we learned about the place which is located on the ground floor of an office building. We were seated immediately and presented with a plate of excellent cheese and olives and outstanding fresh baked Italian style bread. The menu is somewhat limited with emphasis on pasta and seafood. I chose the veal Marsala dish and a side of angel hair pasta with garlic & olive oil. Very high quality, perfectly prepared veal and excellent pasta. My dining mate chose the pasta and shrimp served with a side salad. Wine by the glass is priced at $6 per. Total tab was $65 which was more then fair considering the quality of the ingredients. Thank you for an excellent dining experience!

We were the first ones to arrive on a Saturday and when we left the place was very busy. They cook to order and the only waitress was kept busy that night. The bread olives and cheese was delicious. The owner was visible and spent time talking to all his customers. My table had: LAMB MEATBALL RAGU OVER CHITARRA SPAGHETTI; SALMON; YELLOWTAIL SNAPPER; VEAL SALTIMBOCCA . All was delicious We did ask for dessert and they did not have any tiramisu and we had to send back our coffee because it was cold. The only problem we had
was we purchased 75 for $100 Deal at Cafe Italia Fort Lauderdale Italian Restaurant
You get a voucher redeemable for $100 at Cafe Italia Fort Lauderdale Italian Restaurant. Limit 1 voucher(s) per table. and they did not understand what to do with it. They took our redemption number and phone number to call if there was a problem. HIghly recommend this place! Will try to go during the week or when they first open on a Saturday again! Our new Italian restaurant!

The owners/chef couple take pride in the food and service they provide. Food is authentic, very tasty. Love the bread and olive. Every pasta dishes we ordered was outstanding. Food is not salty or overly greasy. The husband owner stopped by almost every table to chat with the customers and asked them if they liked the food. Very warm and friendly. The prices are very reasonable.
Skip the big chains or the fancy new restaurants in town and go to Cafe Italia. You will not be disappointed.

This was an Italian joint with a big menu. We didn't get a chance to try their pizza but it looked to this former NYer to be the real deal. The parmigiana was excellent and they poured generously on the house wine. They had live music upstairs when we were dining downstairs. It sounded as if conversation would have been tough if we were any closer. Staff was friendly and helpful.

You want real Italian food? this is it! Owners are the chefs and the food, wine and service were outstanding. great pasta, veal, meat and seafood dishes with a wide variety of choices to please any palate. Dishes are more than ample - we usually wind up taking a dogie bag home for a second meal later on!

Not bad at all. Warm bread served with olives and olive oil (Bread from Gran Forno, I believe) started us off. Nice glass of cabernet at 6 seemed like good value, and I had veal masala, and a marinara pasta which was really good. Friends had an eggplant parm (tasty but apparently not quite hot enough - although why they didn't ask the server to please ask for it to be made warmer I don't know). Another companion had pasta with shrimp, clams, and scallops, which I have to say looked amazing, but he found a little bland. I tasted it and liked it, but I'll admit the sauce was pretty watery. Flavourful though. All in all, a very good Italian restaurant at very reasonable prices. It's been here a long time. "Capo" was at a table near the door and looked like he'd been there for 40 years. Looked like a good natured and friendly guy...and there are many pics of him and his resto from years gone by.

This restaurant is amazing. The food is just perfect. The owner is there with you while you dine and is very friendly. He's been running restaurants for longer than I've been alive.
