Thought I would give this restaurant a chance after reading all the mixed reviews. So the location is nice however they have so much greenery and the way the seating is arranged, only a very few tables can even see the water. Then the service...was terrible... we sat for 10 minutes before I had to ask for a menu because our table and the one behind us didn’t have the QR code to scan, so the hostess brought it over. Then it was almost 20 minutes before we were able to order and it happened to be 5 minutes before happy hour was over. They had a nice deal with 99 cent oysters on the half shell and $2.99 jumbo peel & eat shrimp. That was pretty good although I had to ask for the set up that comes with them( ie horse radish, vinegar & cocktail sauce). There was no lemon or small fork to eat them with. But ok... We ordered 2 different drinks and they came pretty fast so no problem. Dirty plates still on the tiny two top table... We ordered food. Snapper and Mahi with different sauces and a side of lobster Mac & cheese and street corn to share. Had to ask for dirty dishes to be removed. Ordered a second drink. Food comes, the ginger soy sauce I had was very good. The fish was fine but didn’t taste very fresh. Mahi was better but the “lemon caper sauce” was milk white, no capers, and tasted like warm buttery milk. Yuck! Changed to the ginger soy sauce. The lobster Mac was good but the street corn tasted like over done canned corn. I love the street corn and have had it on the cob and it’s been amazing. This wasn’t good. Still no second drink. Had to wave the waiter down and ask after seeing it sit at the bar and separate into 2 layers. No apology. Didn’t see the waiter again until we asked for the check. Very unfortunate as this has great potential and wasn’t terribly busy but hard pass on this spot! Oh parking... there is a garage but cost us over $10 to park for dinner and perhaps it was due to the slow service! There is a lovely board walk to walk after but chose one of the various other restaurants to take advantage of the beautiful water front!More

Snotty, condescending manager. Their reservation system was down and I understand those things happen, however I was not prepared for their entire restaurant to be impacted. As the night went on, I waited patiently as my appetizer came out an hour after I was sat....I had not complained, but the waiter seemed upset and said he would have his manager come over. For what? For her to be a waitress instead? Or maybe he knew she should offer an apology. However, she sat it down and didn't offer an apology, as she did not about the reservations being delayed, as would any manager worth her salt. I mentioned it had been an hour and she caught an attitude and condescendingly said their internet is down "as I told you" and they are doing things the "old fashioned way." All I knew was their reservation system was temporarily down, not their entire system, and she gave no indication they were that bad off that night. I was planning on ordering a lot of food to sample what appeared to be top notch and unique. However, they wasted my night and I wasn't about to wait hours for food which others have said they did even without receiving what they ordered. At that point, I didn't appreciate her snotty, condescending attitude so I just left. I would have given them a break and considered returning or accepting their incompetent inflexibility and lack of adaptability to challenges, but her lack of professionalism was unacceptable and off-putting. If I owned that restaurant, I would be embarrassed about how she represents my brand and wastes my customer's time, not to mention dismayed about her lack of effective responses to his losses in revenue. I've seen more customer service acumen from cashiers at fast food restaurants. Restaurant 101: attitude. Attitude can make up for a multitude of the unexpected customer-service industry challenges. However, she seems to rest on excuses, and it seems her poor, entitled, ignorant attitude is not a rare occurrence. Despite her responses for bad reviewers to privately message her, and some saying she never responds or if she does some have said she responds arrogantly, she seems too aloof or incompetent to change her ways. She does not seem cutout for customer service. That's sad for a restaurant with a great location on the water and an excellent looking menu and chef.More

Cuisine makes a restaurant & this establishment fails the test badly. Cold poorly prepared conch fritters and chewy almost inedible lobster. Great location and acceptable but slow service. Eat somewhere else, there are much better available.More

Server was attentive, helpful, honest. Meals were perfect. We had the Hamachi... 5/5stars. Mushroom + Grits was divine! I wish I could have it again. Very special, filling, comfy, tasty, beautiful. Lobster ... 3/5stars, just fine. Yummy crab stuffing makes it better than average. Ribeye...5/5... exactly what I want my steak to taste like. Salt, beef, smoke.More

Took my wife there to celebrate a milestone B-Day. Restaurant was informed of the celebration in advance, and we requested outside seating. (which was scenic. Inside--below average for upper tier restaurant). We were informed they don't assign/reserve specific tables. When we arrived there were open...tables outside, and they still seated us inside. Loust start. The service was competent but a bit slow. The food better than average, but hardly life changing. No recognition of the birthday, other from the hostess on arrival. Another disappointment. Last, it took a long time to get the bill after I requested.More

Next time you visit Ft. Lauderdale, be sure to make Rivertail one of your dining destinations… right on the Boardwalk with stunning views of the waterways, people, yachts, boats and more! The experience started on an excellent foot with the amazing and friendly host —...whom later checked in multiple times ensuring we were all good. Adding to the experience was the excellent waitstaff, specifically “Jorge”! All of our meals were delightful and wine perfectly chilled. Specifically I enjoyed my conch fritter appetizer and Snapper entree! Highly recommended!More

I went to Rivertail with a party of 8 for a Valentine's Day Brunch and we had an off the charts experience. I was a little concerned on the reviews but everything that was a point of contention they seemed to have right. We were...seated promptly, drinks were in our hands within 10 minutes. Service was on point. I thought the food was excellent. Yellowtail Taquitos and fresh oysters an absolute smash. Also the fried shrimp and chicken was seasoned great and tasty, served with house famous cornbread. Burgers we 4/5 according to those who ordered and same for lobster rolls. Prices were reasonable with most brunch drinks coming in a $7. Was very happy with the overall experience and would go back again. Also great views with ourdoor seating.More

My family and I had reservations made week in advance. We showed up at the proper time and were told by hostess they were exceptionally busy and we needed to wait about 10-15 minutes for our table. That was fine, it was a nice night....We were seated and sat there for 20 minutes and not one waiter, food runner or manager approached us. Not even to pour water in our glasses. We ended up leaving at that point when 40 mins after our reservation time, we didn’t even have a glass of water. My husband works in the food industry and we both found the experience to be completely unacceptable. I will never go back.More

How can you mess up so many dishes?? Let me count the ways. Ready? Overdressed soppy Caesar salads, unpalatable bland snapper, cold fries, cold Brussels sprouts and cold street corn. It’s obvious the chef does not look at the food going out. This was the...third time and my third and last review. First time food decent. Second time seafood chowder had mostly potatoes, and well—. Third time Well, You know the rest. Another Ft lauderdale disappointment to add to the list. Take me back to Napa where people know how to cook. If you want great food in ft lauderdale it’s just not easy to find. And we are locals. Good luck.More
