Food was good and prices were a LOT more reasonable then Pelican. Service was good. Waitress was a bit eager at first to take our order but was good after that. Got sandwiches. Tried the chips. Fries were better. I would go again and recommend.
We ate here several times on our latest trip to ft Lauderdale. Beautiful, right on the beach, lovely views, friendly waitstaff and delicious casual foods. The fish tacos, coconut shrimp and their breakfasts were all a hit with our group.
The best basic egg breakfast at its best. The wheat bread was thick bakery style that was just delicious along with the hash browns that are colorful potatoes cooked perfectly and not at all greasy. Along with the great view, it is a hidden gem.
Simply stated, all the food is outstanding - breakfast, lunch and dinner. The staff - Jackie, Kimberly, and Nikki are all fantastic servers. I have been to the Sandbar Grille at least 12 times, and the food has always been 100% top-notch.
This is a great spot if you want lunch outdoors facing the ocean. Prompt, courteous service outdoors facing the ocean with ocean breezes. The fish sandwiches were large and tasty and prepared to your order.

They do have a happy hour. As for the too busy to get in question. They DO get busy, especially in high season. However, there is no distinction between hotel guests and non guests that I've ever seen. Also, be advised that once the summer's here and tourists go home, the locals keep Sandbar hopping during happy hour. Great local place.
