We loved the Steelpan kitchen and bar. The food was so good! We had flatbread and ceviche and the crab soup all of which were delicious. The bartender, Steve was great and super friendly. Great spot to grab drinks by the pool or anything from...the menu was delicious. We also had many breakfast items and bloody Mary’s! YummMore

Initially, I wanted to plan an intimate dinner with my fiancé but that changed shortly after. It became a party of 14 and one of the best experiences ever. Immediately after I booked the party, chef Kevin Baker called me. He called to introduce himself...and assist with making this birthday one to remember. He asked questions about the members of my party to create the perfect night. After answering all his questions, he came up with a preselected menu to my liking. Chef Baker flawlessly executed and added several unexpected twists. Our favorite starters were the jerk wings, prawn cocktail with fried avocado, and the crab and corn chowder. The snapper was a highlight as there were no bones, "It Was Unbelievably Perfect" was one of the remarks from my party. My fiancé enjoyed his well seasoned jerk chicken and rice and peas. At this point we were all stuffed but very excited to try the dessert based on the starters and the entrees so far. We were impressed all over again with the chocolate lava cake, pineapple rum cake and homemade rum and raisin ice cream. Chef Baker even came out to bring the birthday guy his dessert and sang happy birthday. I have never experienced a chef doing that before, so it was a pleasant surprise. The entire experience was way beyond 5 stars for us. We decided to spend the night and order breakfast, all I can say is DELICIOUS! We had the Tropical Pancakes with bacon. We will definitely return to Steel Pan to try other dishes. It may be as early as next weekend for Valentine’s Day. Thank you Chef Kevin Baker and Amy for the awesome service and overall experience.More

We decided to take a quick day trip from Orlando to the Fort Lauderdale Beach Area and ended up having a great dining experience at Steelpan Kitchen & Bar located in the Sonesta Hotel situated directly across the beach on the A1A. Their outdoor seating...area was spacious and provided an island ambiance with the sound of the waves and a light ocean breeze coming in. Our server Amy was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and made suggestions based on our likes. The menu, with American-Caribbean fusion dishes, had just the right amount of choices to give us options yet not overwhelm us. We started with their Callaloo Artichoke Dip, then tried their Blackened Mahi, Island Coconut Shrimp Tacos, and Mahi Sandwich for our main course. We ended with a trio of their desserts which included the Lava Chocolate Fantasy, Steelpan Coconut Shell Sundae, and my absolute favorite, Key Lime Pie. All in all, it was a great dining experience from start to finish and we have decided to book a weekend to celebrate our upcoming 18th wedding anniversary.More

Been keeping an eye on the steel pan ever since I saw the signs outside the hotel. We are local to the area and saw it was great to have a new cuisine addition to the beach front. The service was very friendly and the...menu had a great selection. Was also surprised and impressed to see a selection of very high-end liquors. Would recommend it for casual lunch as we did.More

I can't say enough about this restaurant! They offer an all day happy hour with a wide variety of drinks. Both menu's either breakfast, or the all day menu offers any taste or mood. The chef, Kevin took his time to say hi on a...couple occassions. Amy and Cary, both servers at the restaurant are very attentive and knowledgeable.More
