I picked Gilbert’s because of the TripAdvisor note regarding gluten free options. Not only didn’t they have gluten free bread, which should be an option given they serve burgers, the young woman who took our order didn’t know what had gluten and what didn’t. Restaurant...was clean and the seating layout was good considering all CDC regulations. I would not recommend this restaurant to those like myself with gluten allergy. Food was very good, I ordered a spinach salad, my husband the Cajun burger.More

Mushrooms are canned mushrooms, disappointed. Asked for a medium cooked burger and it was raw in the middle, sent it back and then it's overcooked. I asked if the burgers were grass-fed and finished and the answer was yes, they are certified Angus beef, so...they really don't know what it means.More

Through a comedy of errors, we ended up at this grill for dinner, the night before our cruise. We ended up meeting Lenoir, the owner. She was so kind and spent a lot of time explaining their menu. The burgers were awesome...extensive menu! After dinner...we were able to walk around the shopping center and go to Publix for last minute purchases before the cruise. If we had more time, there were several little bars we could have popped in for an after dinner beverage. Highly suggest you give Gilbert's Grill a look when you're in Lauderdale! We definately will go back the next time we are in town!More

I have been to Gilberts numerous times but realized during my last visit that I had never written a review on this great place for a hamburger or other items. Now, I have only had the amazing hamburgers and fries but some of my friends...who joined me on the many visits had other items that they enjoyed as much as I do the hamburgers. The family run business is a gem, great service, friendly service, freshly made food items done well. You order your food items get a number and a server brings our your order to the table. They will even bring you a refill of your drink and anything else you might need to enjoy your meal. Now that I live in California, I do miss this place and make it a point to visit when I make trips back to Florida.More

This was my first time at Gilbert's was meant by the owner Lenoir Gilbert will explain what they did there they are known mostly for their burgers and who have been voted the best burgers in South Florida this place is very near where the...cruise ships dock and 17th Street in fort Lauderdale their hamburgers are all made from fresh meat over an open grill not on a flat iron top with Angus beef they're willing to do them anyway you like I was most impressed that my hamburger which was 8 oz which is thick was made exactly medium pink throughout not red or brown which is rare for a restaurant to nail it like that they have their own cookie company which they make fresh and I can recommend those as well I'd suggest this for someone who doesn't want a fast food hamburger while more expensive substantially it's worth itMore

Order at the counter and then there are food runners and bussers who will help you with what you need when you are seated...bring you drinks, silverware, condiments, etc.

I'm sure Ms. Gilbert will be more than helpful in satisfying your dietary needs. She was very reassuring when we inquired about nut allergies. And, I still say they have the BEST burgers. Hope this helps!
