Lately, there has been a buzz, a “broth craze” that has me in a panic to find the perfect flavors. On a recent trip to LA with my daughter, we were taken to “the best” Ramen spot. It was OK. I have been on the...search ever since to find a better ramen.
I did not even think to search for it in Fort Lauderdale. When my daughter returned to South Florida for winter break, we drove up and down 17th St. trying to decide what to eat… Something fun… Something different. I was telling her about Kubo, which I have seen while driving past the plaza on many occasions. My comment was that I really didn’t know what to think about these Asian fusion restaurants; they just don’t sound authentic. She said, “let’s just try it.“ It was the best decision we made.
We ordered a Bao Bun, ramen and a Filipino item, I cannot remember the name. Our server told us that all the food is made fresh and that the wife of the owner is Filipino and makes all of those items herself! That experience was absolutely perfect.
Since then, I am almost embarrassed to share, that my family and I have returned about twice a week since then. We have tried sushi, Korean items, Thai, and Filipino.
Must have spicy edamame, Ramen (I have had Tonkotsu, Kao Soi), fish tacos (yes really), dumplings, gyoza, sushi....and anything else that sparks you.
This place brings us JOY!!More
