Visited recently with friends. They have an updated menu since we were last there with better food options IMO. All dishes were very good and of course the ambiance on the river is great. We had seafood dishes, including the grouper and ceviche.

We have stayed at The Riverside Hotel a few times now but this is the first time we went to the pool and Boathouse Restaurant during our stay. For two days in a row we have been coming over. Yesterday we had a bill problem...that was hopefully sorted out. (Will find out when I get my bill). Both days we had to go get our food and drinks at the bar. That is fine and we still left a average tip even though we were getting our own like a drive through. Today same thing but they are automatically adding a 18% tip to the bill. I can see them charging the people that are docking at the pier who are getting full service but not those who are getting their own. Won’t be back!More

We had a family dinner there last night. We didn’t make reservations and had to wait for 30 mins till our table was ready, but that was ok as we enjoyed the surrounding park and all the lights and ambiance around. The parking was not...on site but reasonably priced. The menu was great and had nice choices. I had snapper with quinoa and it was delicious. My husband enjoyed his steak. They also had a good kids menu, nothing special but good that they had it. Overall lovely experience, nice ambiance, delicious food and very accommodating for family with young kids. And the staff was very friendly and served us dinner very fast.More

To be honest here and I eat out a lot, this by far is one of my top 2 places to eat and drink. (Now top1 because of the CHEF)The bar tenders were spot on with drinks and service, and when we sat down at...the table waterfront we were greeted by a perfect server named Brandi, all I can say is food and drinks were spot on, service was undeniably perfect. I believe that we have just found our perfect spot to drink, eat, and relax with boats passing all the time. Couldn’t ask for a better sunset and atmosphere while we were here. You don’t know what you are missing if you haven’t been here. The chef (Kate)was out and about and came by our table checking on everyone and was absolutely thrilled about our response on the food that we had, we had a great conversation and she went above and beyond with our main course, best chef this restaurant has ever had, we love this place and we will continue our visits, Thanks to all staff for making our night unforgettable. 5 stars....More

We had a table outside which was nice as we could watch the boats passing by on the river. The service was very good and we liked the restautant's atmoshere. The garlic shrimp was very good, while the salmon was served with brussel sprouts and...raisins, unusual for us. Overall we enjoyed the experience and would like to come back.More

The location and ambience of the Boathouse by the Riverside was nice. Sadly the service was way too fast. Our entrees were bought while we were still eating our appetisers and we we all done within 40 minutes of our arrival at the restaurant. So...it all felt super rushed and not relaxed and enjoyable. The quality of the food was very good though, I had shrimp to start and pork loin for my entree and both were superb. A two course meal for 2 persons was US$115 If the service had not spoilt it this would have been a 4 and maybe even a 5 star review.More

Beautiful views of the inter-coastal waterway. Had so much fun watching the boats go by. Outdoor dining, recommend reservation on the patio! Happy hour specials were great, fresh fish was fantastic. Highly recommend. Valet parking on site.

We came to this restaurant to enjoy the views of the river on the patio. We ordered the grouper and snapper, which were surprisingly good. The price of the food was also very reasonable given the area and that it was part of a hotel....The only con was that the service could be improved as the hostess and our server were both not very friendly.More

My company selected the Boathouse to host a 16 person dinner. Normally, I would have expected difficulty in making this large of a reservation, but a simple email to the manager a few weeks in advance easily secured the table. Once we arrived, we were...immediately seated in a terrific location. Our server was attentive and the food and drink was great. A really fun dinner. What is most important to share though; there was an oversight on MY part with the check. I contacted the manager a week later explaining what happened. I certainly didn't expect resolution - but he couldn't have been more accommodating and immediately resolved the issue. First class service!! Very happy to recommend this restaurant - 5 stars!More

We went to the Boathouse last night after an event, at about 7:15 pm. We did not have a reservation but many tables were available. After much delay and pondering by the hostess, she finally took us to a very small table on the patio....There were several, at least 6, larger tables for 4, open. My husband went to ask if we could have one of the larger tables, and again, after a lengthy wait, the hostess told us to move. Once we moved, we waited over 15 minutes and no one came to take an order. I went to the hostess stand to ask, to which her reply was, You should have taken your menus with you from the first table. Anyway, a waiter did finally come for the drink order. Again, it was over 10 minutes before the drink arrived. I guess the point is: 1 - Don't go to the Boathouse without a reservation 2- Expect to wait and wait, and wait. The food was mediocre at the very best but again, this isn't a gourmet restaurant.More

We come from the UK and stayed at the Riverside Hotel for 6 nights. We ate in the Boathouse 3 times as it was so good. Other evenings we sat at the bar and had snacks. The bar has a really good happy hour and...the atmosphere is great. All of the staff are friendly and really helpful. The views of the river are great. I can't rate this place enough for their food, drink, staff and location. I wish I was there now.More

I ordered the Hawaiian Ribeye and LOVED it! My husband ordered the grouper. We’ve been Florida residents for 18 years, and that was not any grouper we have EVER eaten. Looked, smelled, and tasted more like a cod or tilapia. We sent it back and...ordered another ribeye. We were hoping for an amazing experience, but it wasn’t what we had hoped for, unfortunately. If you’re out of grouper, please make it known to the guests who are ordering. This will save you unnecessary waste and will increase overall customer satisfaction. When you are hungry and have been riding on the water taxi all morning, all you want is a place that sees you and serves you quickly and with good food. That’s exactly what you get at the boathouse. Gloria was our server and she...was fantastic, making good suggestions, and always being available to answer questions and take care of our needs. The blackened mahi sandwich was fantastic and the truffle cake is not to be missed.More
