This is your typical Fort Lauderdale Italian decent restaurant. Decent as in its not horrible like so many of the others are. The menu is ok. The cooking is totally inconsistent. Inconsistent as in the same table on the same day for the same meal....Some get pasta with a crunch, some with pasta ala mush. The ingredients are more than ample. The sauces akin to a chef that is learning to cook Italian. They’re all blah. The killer is the service. It is absolutely inept. Naturally since this is Fort Lauderdale, it’s inept with a disingenuous smile. Assuming they will never see you again as you’re from out-of-town. We’re locals, been twice, no more.More

I ate at this restaurant with my family. It's cute and cozy. The food was yummy. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for good quality Italian food. Definitely get the truffles with the Vodka sauce!

although we made reservations, we waited over one hour at the bar to have a table. First they tried to give a table to sit with other people, then they wanted to give us a table of 2, although we were 3..lol.. obviously we refuse...to sit 3 people on a table of 2.. When a table of 4 leaves they actually gave away that table to people that did not even wait for as long as we did. I asked why did we not get that table, their answer was we were 3 and they were 4. Meanwhile bar bill over 80$ and the night did not even start.. at this point we were ready to leave.. oopps they found us a table.. we decided to stay.. Food was not worth the wait.. We complained that the pasta was way too salty and instead of offering to re-do the waiter just walked away.. and gave it back to us in a take out box..lol.. Waiter forgets to add a bottle of wine on the bill and obviously we were honest enough to advise them.. At no point a thank you or even an apology for making us wait.. highly priced for what you get.. not worth the wait.. should have gone to Sicilian Oven next door .. great eggplant parmiggiana and service!! or better yet Casa Calabria.More

Had reservations and arrived on time. The hostess took us to a table, however we werent seated there after a discussion she had with a server. The same thing happened at her second seating choice. The three of us were just standing in the middle...of the restaurant watching, waiting and wondering. Finally we were seated.WE oredered a bottle of Chianti Rigoletto, $32, which was very good. We were served some of the best crusty italian bread I have tasted, with olive oil. Excellent. For an appetizer we shared the Salad Contadino, $13, compising a smaller mound of arugala, a few slices of grilled eggplant , peppers, tomatoes and olives. All was very good but to me, for the price, it was a little skimpy on the vegetables. Two of us had the Veal Ossobuco, $29, tender slowly cooked veal in a delicious sauce on top of polenta. Very good . My friend had the Dover Sole Special, $48, filleted tableside and accompanied with some lemon wine sauce and a small potion of vegetables. A very nice entree, at a very dear price. For dessert we shared the LimoncelloTiramisu, $9, and the Cofee Tiramisu, $8, both very similar, creamy, light and airy. While dining the restaurant presented a festive atmosphere with the chef, yes the chef, singing a few tunes. Service was good, not great. All in all a relatively good experience with a rocky start. Will will return...especially for that bread.MMMMM.More

We have eaten at the restaurant a number of times and have written a review before. I have left this review for a few months to think before I write. There were 10 of us and we were given the table we requested in the...back area. I order Veal Milanese. It was like eating cardboard, had no taste and had obviously been left to keep warm waiting for other food on the table to be cooked. After eating a third, I drew this to the waitresses attention and she offered to get another one. I said no, it had put me off. when the bill was presented, I thought there might have been an adjustment, but I was wrong. I asked to see the manager, who was a lady around early 30s. I suggested that she might like to charge only half - $18 instead of $36. Not only did she refuse, but was very rude. She said I had been offered another piece of meat - yes I do enjoy eating after everyone else. So I paid the $36 and did not leave a tip. the tip would have been found $70. Some people just don't get it. We will not be returning.More

We read the reviews here and decided to try it this evening; and were very pleased we did! We went with the bar menu because of the amount of choices at very reasonable prices; we will return for a full dinner. The bar menu choices...offered a variety we could put together for a very reasonable dinner. BEST HAPPY HOUR DELICIOUS FOOD CHOICES ANYWHERE! Lovely cozy atmosphere. The service was fine; we had no problem at all! So, if you are looking for a light Italian dinner with good choices or a full dinner with all the usual southern Italian choices, this is your place! Give it a try - you will enjoy the pleasant atmosphere with inside or outside dining. Hint...Park on the opposite side to avoid paying for parking.More

Recently visiting Ft Lauderdale from Maryland with friends, we dined here on a Friday night in January - and discovered not only delicious food, but a wait staff and chef that bring "Italy" to South Fla. On our visit the chef grabbed a microphone and...serenaded us all with lively Italian songs, while the waiters and servers grabbed tambourines or simply waved creme-colored napkins high about their heads to the lively music. What a treat! We even were treated to a special garlic bread, soft and buttery, hot from the oven. We loved our visit so much that we returned with our family for my husband's birthday a week later - to the same delicious food and, this time, a guitarist who had our feet stomping. This is a true Italian restaurant with a strong family feel. Everyone there seems so happy ! Thank you Dal Contadino. We'll definitely be back!More

This will be the last time we EVER go to this restaurant. We have gone 3 separate times and each time was a Customer Service nightmare. Stupid Us ! However, A client gave us a $100 gift certificate for this restaurant and we didn't want...to go. So we waited one full year and said....MAYBE THINGS HAVE CHANGED OVER THE YEAR ! Well It Hasn't ! We went last night to celebrate 2 separate Anniversarys and we ordered one cocktail each at the bar. The hostess stated our table is now ready so we went and followed her. Within seconds ater the same hostess said I'm sorry but you can't sit here because you brought cocktails from the bar ! We said we just ordered these and we were never told ! She said we had to finish our drinks at the bar area then be seated. WHAT ? We asked for the manager and our waiter then came over and said it's ok with him and try to relax. The problem is...Your not allowed to bring a cocktail from the bar to the table during happy hour. That I understand. HOWEVER, The bartender knew we were waiting for our table and just served us. Why didn't she ever say anything? Or...And the same hostess just took us from the bar to our seats with cocktails in hand. Why didn't she as well say anything? What a embarrassment this was to us and our friends. NOTE EVERYONE...NOW I KNOW WHY THIS RESTAURANT WAS SO SLOW ON A WEEKEND SPECIALLY DURING....IN SEASON ! NEVER NEVER AGAIN AND WILL SHARE THIS WITH EVERYONE WE KNOW !More
