A few miles removed from the tourist-packed historic area, Gilbert's is on a main highway with several meat smokers in the front parking lot. This means that wonderful smoky aroma greets you as soon as you park. The interior isn't very impressive--certainly not upscale and...More

We had their ribs which they served with a choice of sauces, from mild to very hot and spicy! Great experience! Funky place but well worth it!

Great BBQ ... good sauces, meat is tender & juicy. But in-restaurant dining leaves a bit to be desired. I suggest them for carry-out or catering.

I visited this restaurant in October 2018 and it was fantastic. I could not wait to visit this trip and I was so disappointed. The brisket was mostly fat and largely not edible. The rolls were stale and looked like those Hawaiian rolls from the...More

Loved the relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere, the service, and the food. Our server Mason was very helpful in making our selections. I had the fried catfish on a bed of collard greens and grits, and my wife had the spare ribs with grilled brussel sprouts and...More

I had the brisket. It was good but everything was overpriced for the amount received and the atmosphere.

My husband picked this place for his birthday dinner. It is a good place, if you like meat! Very cute decor, staff excellent and friendly, small dining area and intimate. Not a great place to bring small children. There is a children's menu and the...More
