Had the shrimp special for lunch. Restaurant was not busy at Thursday 4pm. Have eaten there in prior years, but food was not the best this time. Would recommend the fried shrimp over the broiled. The shrimp did not have the best flavor. Slaw was good but would not recommend the grits as a side.

They were understaffed the night we went, with two large parties, one of them very demanding. My son was glad he got to try gator (tasted like chicken) and I liked the broiled scallops. However there is a lot of fried food in this place and it drowns out the flavors of the seafood I think. It is also a... More

I just got back from dinner. After getting seated I waited 10 minutes for a menu, then 35 minutes more for cold oyster stew with stale crackers. While waiting another 10 minutes for my bland stew (watered down milk with 5 tiny oysters and parsley) I ate the cold slaw (good) and fried okra. The breading on the okra was... More

If you want good seafood, be sure to eat at Cedar River - good food and great service. A lot of food for your money, yet not too expensive! Will definitely visit again!

We went on a Saturday night when they are he most busy. I had a platter with fried shrimp, fish, scallops, oysters, and deviled crab. Everything was good except the deviled crab. There was too much filling. Service was quick and good.

I'll get to the review soon enough. The most important thing you need to know is... THE FOOD IS AMAZING! The green beans are a must! The collars greens are so delicious. And the seafood was just delicious! On our weekend stay we've already committed to returning before we leave. That speaks volumes because we would normally explore different local... More

We were sat immediately, but waited for 50 minutes for our food. Once the waitress took our order we never seen her again until the food came. They seem very short staffed. The place wasn't even entirely full. The environment is very strange, unwelcoming. This place has potential, but it's not being used. They are fortunate to have good food,... More

We used to have one of these restaurants near our home in Ga, and it was already great! Well, this one is not the same at all. When we arrived, it was really busy, so I figured the food had to be amazing! Something was wrong with the air conditioning I believe, and it was VERY hot in the restaurant.... More

We had takeout. Food was ok, but the shrimp had strange seasoning. Fried shrimp had a too thick odd breading. Green beans were very good.

We went there today for a late lunch. Couldn't decide where we wanted to eat but wanted seafood. So we had never tried Cedar River and will never go back. We sat at the table and it seemed to be a mystery who was going to wait on us. A young waitress Abby was our waitress. We asked for 4... More
