Restaurant Week on Amelia Island. More than a dozen places participating, including some of the best. Generally a fixed price menu of appetizer, entree and desert. We chose David’s because it offered the best choices including fare for a vegetarian. Also, the chance to eat for $41.00 at this rather pricey restaurant was too good to pass up. Reservation was easy on Open Table. We were greeted and promptly shown to our table. Our server, Kendrick, was attentive without being intrusive. The service was prompt and seamless. The food was excellent, as it has been each time we’ve eaten here. They have a good wine list. We had two bottles of a lovely gewurztraminer from Alsace and were able to bring the balance of the second bottle home. Tab, tax and tip for just under $200.00 for two people. All in all, a most satisfying evening.

We recently enjoyed the Happy Hour at David's in their cozy lounge. (Every other table was blocked off for social distancing and the staff were masks and the food servers used gloves as well). There is a "tapas-like" menu as well as a full dinner menu available. We samples several of the small plates including grilled octopus, shrimp cocktail, grilled lamb chops, beef carpaccio and escargot. All were excellent as was the attentive service of our waiter Patrick. House wines are $6 per glass with an extensive wine list available. This really isn't your typical Happy Hour since the tab can accumulate quickly as tapas choices entice you to keep experimenting. All in all, a great special occasion choice.

we stayed at the ritz Carlton Amelia Island but ventured out based on concierge to some local restaurants. this one only about 15 minutes away and a great catch. my wife and I took out my 80 yo mominlaw. they gave us great table. they take reservations. they welcomed her and very nice to her. table was beautifully set. our server was just amazing. the bread was wonderful (but didnt want to fill up). I had the prime rib special with mashed potatoes and green beans. just wonderful and prepare perfectly. my wife crab bisque and dover sole. she said amazing. never had sole before and server rec she try and she loved it. mom in law had combs of things: escargot, crab bisque, and Caeser salad. we were stuffed and didnt order dessert but the server bought us choc covered strawberries one large one for each of us. just amazing. expensive (relatively) but well worth the money. it is a 5 star in may mind and not an olive garden so you get what you pay for. well worth the money bc the food and service were impeccable.

David’s is well known for it’s top notch food, outstanding ambiance, and exceptional customer service. Tonight I would say that in a pandemic crisis they’ve maintained their sensitivity to the customer with care. As we saw Myrta drive to our door, don gloves, and deliver our dinner, we were impressed. She kindly let us know that she’d set our dinner down at the door. Our dinner was packaged well and absolutely delicious. It was a Saturday evening treat for us, while we endure very quiet days. We urge our local friends and neighbors to support Deborah, Myrta, and their team as bars and restaurants remain closed and use their take out service. We will keep our friends from David’s in our prayers as we move through this pandemic. Best of luck to you all!

At the point we made our reservations, we’d already had a memorable week in the culinary department. So, I was a little worried about booking another upscale restaurant this late in our near perfect trip. I’m so glad we pushed our luck; as I believe we hit the culinary jackpot. David’s doesn’t seem like much from the outside: the building is a bit dated, and the parking lot is limited. But once you walk through the door, you’ll notice a refined decor, with a nod to the fancy side. The interior is clean and inviting; and there’s even a neat “wine themed” room off to left as you walk in. I will say, the lighting is a bit dim for menu glancing, but it does add to the romance. Food: We ordered quite an array of entrees, and a couple of appetizers. Started with the ahi tuna, and crab cakes: and both, with their unique sauces, were quite tasty. The Delmonico Ribeye stole the entree show: perfectly cooked, and served with some delicious fingerling potatoes. The Chilean sea bass, in which my daughter always orders where available, was excellent. Also, had the fillet mignon over mushroom risotto. I’d had risotto a couple of times this trip already, but again, I pushed my luck. This combination absolutely rocked! The fillet was perfectly cooked and seasoned: and the risotto was packed full of flavor. My wife’s chicken piccata, which I continued eating for lunch the following day, was memorable as well. We packed in a few desserts, which were rich and tasty, and added some weight for the ride home. Try the key lime pie. The food here gets a 5 for sure. I couldn’t find anything that wasn’t worth a try. Service: The wait staff did a fine job of meeting our every need. No glass left empty, and everything was served prompt, and as ordered. I do have to say, I did hear someone mention that the waiter talks on and on a bit much for a restaurant of this caliber; but I think that’s a matter of preference. I have no complaints myself, and give the service here a 4.5. In conclusion: In the midst of this crazy year that is going on, it’s refreshing knowing that some parts of things are coming back to normal(as normal could be now). From memorable steaks, to fresh and tasty seafood; this little beach town has quite a number of excellent dining options. Just be sure to put David’s on your list next visit. I’m gonna go on a limb and say: This is one of those places you have to try at least once.... Enjoy

During our second visit to Amelia island since November we once again had dinner at this restaurant. Our first meal was for thanksgiving last year where all members of our group were very impressed with the atmosphere, service, and quality of the food. Our second visit last night left something to be desired. While the atmosphere and service were excellent again I didn’t enjoy the favor of the small filet I had. I was expecting a grilled steak and it tasted like to was cooked in the oven with some type of sauce put over it in an attempt to improve the favor. Not to continue to complain, but I just didn’t enjoy my meal. My wife had the scallops which she found very chewy to the point she couldn’t eat all of them. She did enjoy the mashed potatoes and the grilled asparagus. I think if we go back here again I will ask to sit in the bar and eat off the bar menu.

Thank you for sharing your experience. All our steaks are grilled. So sorry you didn't like the demi. Next time order with the sauce on the side. The only seasoning is salt and pepper. Our scallops we haven't changed in like 7 years. I am surprised they did not meet your expectations. Quality is very important to me and I will make sure our scallops are on point and to our standard spec. This review is positive for us to just get that much better. Thank again, and when you return, please ask for me. Best, Deborah, owner

18 months ago, we took my sister and husband to Amelia Island with reservations at David's restaurant. I gave a 5 star rating back then. It hasn't changed, still a 5 star (really a 6 star if possible). My wife in the food industry globally, thus has eaten at many places around the world. I too have had some of the most unbelievable dining experiences. By. far this is one of, if not the best restaurants in the world. Our waiter, Glen, has been working there for 7 years and very knowledgeable and understands the importance of correct timing when serving courses. It was Valentines Day and fully booked, yet you can easily have a conversation. The acoustics are great, not a noisy restaurant. They make a "Sea Bass Cake" similar to a Crab Cake, but a must try. A selection of salads for the second course, you can get a 1/2 portion because it's going to be a lot of food. My wife had spinach salad, her favorite, and I had the wedge with blue cheese. For the main course, my wife had Dover Sole. Thumbs up. I had the fish special which was halibut. This was totally amazing, the chef took ingredient that you wouldn't normally put with halibut. But it worked fabulously well. This dish beat anything I've ever had. Gave my wife a bite and she agreed, totally awesome. Hot bread, tomatoes with mozzarella cheese and balsamic vinegar for a beginning treat from the chef. Then there is the special touch of Sorbet palate cleanser before the main meal. Just so well done. Hats off to the chef and staff for the best ever experience. $$$$$

My husband and I went to celebrate our anniversary and tried the caviar menu. We are not caviar novices. So I can tell you: don't waste your money. David's serves caviar knockoffs from US bred fish and charges you a fortune for it ($120/ounce), and it is mushy and borderline edible. That said, their regular menu is still great and worth the cost. Just don't buy the so-called caviar. It isn't even close.

So sorry to hear of your caviar issue for the first time. As they are packaged by the ounce, maybe an off jar. Sending it back and choosing another caviar was an option. Just like wine, you can get a bad bottle. Our descrptions of our caviar clearly states origin and we only use sustainable resources. Knockoffs no, true US based caviar processing facilities. You can get Russian Beluga Caviar now at 520.00 for a half ounce. We can always have it brought in special the next time you visit. My favorite caviar is our Kaluga, dark emerald green, ocean flovors with a crisp crunch. My recommendation would be to have given me the opportunity to try to accommodate the issue at hand.

David’s was exceptional in every way. Every bite of food was delicious. The warm bread and tiny palette cleaners they brought between courses elevated the experience. I had the filet mignon, and it was prepared perfectly. Every element of the dish went well together, and the mushroom risotto was the best I’ve ever had by far. Our waiter was very attentive, knowledgeable of the menu, and friendly. We also were dining in the private wine room, and I must say, the privacy and charm that adds made our night all the more memorable, though the main dining rooms are also gorgeous. Dessert was just as delicious as the main course, and the chocolate dipped strawberries they brought to end the meal were unbelievable. Simply put, David’s delivers one of the best meals you’ll ever eat and a truly unforgettable experience.

We were told by the owners of the B&B we stayed in that this was a favorite, so we were able to get an 8:30 pm reservation, later than we prefer, but well worth the wait. The mushroom ravioli with truffles was spectacular and we also had king crab legs, the biggest we have ever had. They were very pricey, probably too pricey, but they were absolutely delicious. The shrimp bisque was heavenly, I would skip the caesar salad, it was good, but I have had better.

My wife and I had a great meal at David's. She had a filet which she repeatedly stated was the best she had ever tasted. I started with the crab bisque which was creamy and full of crab, followed by seafood scampi, which was delicious. Our server was very attentive without being overbearing. She was great as well as the support staff. They used a bit of a team approach and we didn't wait or want for anything. It was a meal we will not soon forget!

Had a wonderful first visit at David’s restaurant and lounge. My husband and I both enjoyed a filet perfectly cooked for us, a lovely glass of wine and topped it off with creme brûlée. Service was exceptional! Thank you David’s 😊 We will return!

We were in Amelia Island for a long weekend and tried several restaurants in the area. David's was our favorite one by far. Not only Chef David Echeverry does an outstanding job with the regular menu items but the flavors he creates in the specials are something you won't find anywhere else. In addition, the attitude and attention from all staff we interacted with made us feel very welcome. Until we went to David's we were not planning on going back to Amelia Island any time soon...after going to David's our plans have changed, we can't wait to go back!

I was told that this used to be an old brick library so it doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside is modern and inviting. I loved the decor and the lighting. The service was excellent. I was in the restaurant business for years and I don't say that lightly. I wish I remembered her name. She was very informative, knew the menu, very friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I had Shrimp Cocktail and then Scallops. They were delicious!!! My husband had Chicken Piccata and he said it was amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

David’s was booked SOLID weeks in advance for the weekend of our trip (Valentine’s) but we decided to stop in anyways to see if maybe we could snag a spot at the bar since Valentine’s is also my husband’s birthday and I really wanted to bring him here and the staff was beyond accommodating! When we first arrived the bar was full with no one looking to be leaving soon but the wait staff grabbed us a few chairs and a drink menu and served us by the entrance! Even offered to let us order food and bring us a small table or pack something up for us to-go. We enjoyed our drinks and was actually able to get a spot at the bar after a while. Our bartender was great! We ordered the special and once we finished they brought us another complimentary glass of wine & chocolate covered strawberries! Highly recommend for a date night!
