Were in the area shopping at a specialty Woodworking Store .2 miles away. Saw the great reviews and popped over. Did not disappoint. Clean, fast, friendly service and great food. My husband had the Cuban Sandwich and I had the shredded beef in Cuban Sauce platter with black beans and rice. Generous portions with 2 drinks came to $20. Very reasonable. Bought a Cafe con Leche to go. Wish we lived closer, 2 hrs away. Give it a try!

Excellent casual dinner with the family

There were four of us, two had Cuban's, one had Ropa Viejo and one had Picadilla - all were excellent. The person running the counter (owner?) was super friendly and efficient. Prices were very reasonable and portions were large! Will definitely be back.

Found this random place in a strip mall with plenty of parking. It’s like a small mom and pop place with outdoor seating. Music blasting from the patio. Only one person working to take your order, make your food and serve you. I got the special Cuban which is the original cubano but with lettuce and tomato. Also got the pizza and beef cheese empanada. Everything satisfied my craving. Until next time….

Not Authentic Cuban

I had the Lechon Asado, roast pork with red beans, yellow rice, and yucca fries. The pork lacked the authentic flavor of mojo, which is lemon and garlic, and was over salted. The beans were tasty but watery. The yellow rice wasn't authentic and tasted like a Vigo mix. The yucca fries were crispy and tasty. I got fast deliver via Uber Eats. But, Cubans On The Run up the street serves better food.

First experience not good but now I love it

My first experience was not good but now I love this restaurant Picadillo with sweet plantains is delicious Their cuban coffee and empanadas are great Staff is very friendly! I feel home whenever I’m there

Little surprise in a cheesy strip mall...find it and stop in

Lunch while my car was getting fixed...ordered the Pargo Frito (whole snapper fried) with yellow rice, red beans, and sweet plantains. The presentation, preparation, and taste/quality of the fish was excellent. Very tasty, of course a little harder to eat...but you know that when you order whole fish...the bones and skin make the fish better. The red beans are amazing. Rice is good too and plantains were well executed. Overall value at $12.99 for such a gourmet type preparation is outstanding.

I read the reviews and headed to Rey’s with 6 friends. I just returned from a trip to Panama where I fell in love with grilled Corvina. Guess what? It was on the menu and DELICIOUS! Another friend had an entire fried snapper—head and all. What do you do with unadventurous friends? No problem! There are many options such as tuna, chicken or egg salad. One friend even ordered a Philly cheese steak. Everyone tried the shared $1 empinadas. The beef was our favorite. The sweet plantains are delicious. You can choose white or yellow rice or congri which is white with black beans and bacon mixed in. The black beans were delicious, too! I will be back. We will all be back! Great food! Great prices! Excellent service!

Good and quick

We stopped in for a quick meal after a movie and wasn’t disappointed. We had been craving Cuban food and it’s hard to find authentic in our area so we gave this place a try. It is good food with fast service and will eat here again for sure.

Our first visit and it won't be the last. My wife had the beef empanadas and the potato ball. I opted for the Cuban sandwich, black beans and rice. When I visit a Cuban restaurant for the first time I always get the original sandwich because if they don't do it right, I won't be back to try the other items. Every thing was just the way it was supposed to be. What was extra was the piece of birthday cake from the owners as they were celebrating with their family. I spotted some delicious looking dishes at other tables that I'm going to try. It's a smallish inside area but they have a nice patio area. Nice and cozy like family.

Great coffee and sandwiches

I stopped on the way to work, and picked up breakfast to go. The coffee is amazing and certainly kept me going through my workday and the breakfast sandwich was awesome. Love this place.

I love this place. We live in Daytona, but we like to come here when we have the chance. My favorite is the Vaca Frita, which is a fried shredded beef. So delicious. I don't see this on many menus so I get it here when I come. Staff is always friendly and the food is outstanding and authentic. Also, you HAVE to get a cup of coffee. Try the Cortadito. Oh my goodness. Best in the universe. :-) One final note: they bake their bread fresh, so don't forget to order some with your meal.

Delicious lunch!

We stopped at Reys on the recommendation of a car salesman we had just met. He mentioned that the food was fresh and delicious, and he was right! I had the breaded steak sandwich and my husband had the special. Both were excellent, freshly cooked for us, and our order of fried plantains was scrumptious. I treated myself to the perfect cup of espresso, also. We will certainly be back. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the shop was exceptionally clean.

Authentic Cuban food

Every time we go to Orlando this is the place for our breakfast or lunch. I don't miss Miami with this restaurant here. Friendly service and great selection. I highly recommend it.
