Arrived in town early, checked out the National Park Service displays first, then had lunch before the airboat tour started. Rod and Gun Club is 100% old school South Florida. Lunch outside is nice, but eating inside makes you feel like you are in an early-last-century elite experience. Save some time to read a few of the old newspaper articles... More

The Rod and Gun club is a must see in Everglades City. Feels like an old lodge inside with dining tables on the screened porch overlooking the channel where the boats dock. It's 'good' as it is. It could be great with some attention to the menu (only 2 deserts), and a greater selection of drinks, particularly beer and wine.... More

Fish dishes were great. Martinis(what else in this setting) were generous. We paid for all in cash on one bill. Manager was there until we left. Waitress was helpful and talked about Everglades City, which we loved.

Sabrina Weeks, best server ever. Friendly and efficient. Great food, wonderful location, interesting artifacts. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

We had lunch, excellent stone crab. Very interesting place, worth visiting. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS. There are 2 ATMS in town, no Bank. The fastest way to get here from Ft. Myers etc is down the interstate not 41.

Please check out my review of the Rod and Gun Club lodging for more details about this restaurant. It's worth stopping in for a drink and appetizer just to see the place.

The food was okay but nothing special. It looked like they might have been having a problem with staying open as they were missing the extra touches. Beer selection was 2 choices. Light and not-light. Frog legs were very skimpy.

This club is over 100 years old in the heart of Everglades City. As the name suggests, there scores of rifles, stuffed animals and old pictures hanging on the walls. Nice outdoor deck on the water for a casual lunch and beautiful dining room for dinners or rainy days.

Okay, couldn't resist the temptation to eat lunch at this great historic place, even after reading reviewers who were disappointed. Service was extremely slow, food was just okay. There is a sign outside that says no sightseeing. It is a old place with history, which is why we chose to eat lunch there. The 3 stars are for the "ambiance"... More

My wife and I stopped for lunch at the Rod and Gun Club in Everglades City on our way back to Miami from Sanibel Island. This historic building is (or was) also an inn. It is on the site of the home of Collier the first (white) landholder in southwest Florida. The restaurant has indoor and patio dining overlooking the... More
