Don't expect linen table service. This is a pretty basic restaurant. They specialize in stone crabs in season and offer a variety of seafood and other basic menu items. There is a screened in dining area over the water where you can watch the water traffic. Beer and (I believe) house wine are available. Don't expect fancy, but this is... More

This place is old gulf coast food at its finest and with individuality. I grew up on the gulf coast when most of the food places were screened in porches that served fried shrimp, oysters, clam strips and catch of the day with sides of hush puppies, fried okra, cole slaw and a bowl of gumbo for starters. For me... More

Good portions of super-fresh fish. Comfortable water-front location out on the deck. A great place for lunch.

My husband had the snow crab and I had the grouper sandwich. Both were very good and the beer was cold. We drove farther down the road to this restaurant because the larger place was crowded. It was lunch time, there was no room in the shaded screened room. I enjoyed being outside right on the water, although larger umbrella's... More

We were two couples going to Cypress Preserve and wanted to show our friends Everglades City. Yelp reviews led us to Tirads, a casual rustic fishhouse on the river. There were tables in a large screened room on the water, and others in non-screened spaces. We had fish quesadillas, grouper sandwiches, huspuppies and great fries. Prices were reasonable, food hot... More

My wife & I wanted the experience of getting Stone Crab Claws from the source and decided on this restaurant. Eating on a screened patio at river's edge with a setting sun was great. We ordered 2 lbs of these bad boys & both enjoyed the novelty of digging the meat from the claws & dipping it in drawn butter.... More

I enjoyed the deep fried alligator tail. However, as I rarely eat fried food it did not agree with me later. I am tempted to rate poor. However, my friend thoroughly enjoyed her fried shrimp basket with fries & hush puppies and she did not feel ill afterwards, Thus, it may be that my system is simply sensitive. The atmosphere... We have tried this place three times now, as we come in to town 1-2 times a year. Usually service is the issue along with sub par seafood. Things have not changed where the food quality is concerned. Unless you like fried everything, I just don't get the raving reviews. I ordered the Ceasar salad with blackened Grouper, my husband... More

We ordered the seafood basket and the grouper sandwich. The grouper was fresh, tasty and crunchy. Not greasy. The basket had shrimp, scallops and came with oysters. For $2.00 more I sub'd for conch. It was delicious!!! All pieces of conch, not the balls with small pieces inside. I ordered Xtra lemon cuz i love lemon and the waitress brought... More
