I’ve been lucky to have great oysters all over the world. Giant meaty Japanese oysters, delicate Pacific oysters and French, Canadian, and Atlantic seaboard oysters up and down the coasts. I’ll never stop searching for the perfect blend of brine and texture and sweetness that...makes an oyster so good. My favorites have long been Copps Island oysters from LI Sound. And while oysters can be shipped, eating them while looking over the water they came from guarantees the best quality and freshness. Can you tell I like eating oysters? That said, go to Lynn’s Quality Oysters. Their oysters are about a 10 on every element that makes a great oyster. Firm, medium sized, sweet and slightly saline. Taste like clean salt air. Lynn’s has a perfectly good sauce but I had a couple of dozen raw, steamed and baked with just some lemon and was thrilled. Could be the best oysters I’ve ever eaten anywhere. Service was outstanding. Becky and others treated this first-timer like a neighbor and fed me like family. Worth a special trip to this old oyster shack that serves a world-class oyster.More

After two meals in Apalachicola, one lackluster and the second downright awful, I was feeling pretty glum about the area’s dining scene. Thankfully there is a long bridge that takes you across the beautiful inlet to Eastpoint, where you’ll find Lynn’s Quality Oysters. It’s a...bit of a classic roadhouse setting, wedged between the highway at the front door and the Gulf out the back porch. After a morning of hiking in Apalachicola National Forest I stopped in at Lynn’s, grabbed a spot on the porch looking out over the water, and tucked into a dozen raw oysters. They were the best I have had in quite some time, served simply with a squeeze of lemon and a dab of horseradish. And of course a cold beer. It was heaven. Traveling can be a lot of humdrum time, but it’s all worth it when you stumble across a sublime moment, when everything is just… perfect. My sublime moment of this recent trip to the Gulf was at Lynn’s, sitting on the back porch, slurping up oysters. Location, service, and food, it just all aligned.More

The best in the area by a long shot. When buying, I said I wanted _____ amount to feed a certain number of people. Instead of selling me that amount and taking my money, the attendant said I would need far less. THAT is the...kind of service that will bring me back over and over. That, and the delicious food they serve. Every time it is spot on.More

Mixed review, good and not so good. First visit was during the week after the lunch hour. Sat at table on covered deck. Excellent service. Cold Oyster City beer. Steamed shrimp was excellent—very fresh. Not as impressed with the gumbo, although it was full of...shrimp with some rice, which I prefer. Second visit was for a to go order on a busy Saturday around 7 p.m. They do not take phone orders—just got recording. Went in and waited at bar to place an order. Ignored by waitstaff; however, gentleman working the fresh seafood counter waited on us. Ordered two types of “baked” oysters—Rockefeller and Capt. Jack’s—and side order of slaw. No drinks. Two dozen oysters plus two small slaws plus tip = $50. Seems to be average cost nowadays. The oysters were fresh; preferred the Rockefeller. The bacon on the Capt. Jack’s was bacon bits..real bacon but bacon bits, which I think has a different flavor and texture than real cooked bacon. The slaw was finely ground, had good flavor and consistency. Would go back for the shrimp and slaw. Lynn’s does have a working website where you can find their menu items.More

Before finding Lynn’s we were disappointed that we wouldn’t get any fresh oysters in Apalachicola due to the bay being close for harvesting; the very high prices in restaurants; or non local oysters. What a nice surprise to find out that Lynn’s actually farms their...own App bay oysters. Were fresh, tasty and reasonably priced. Made our tripMore

The oysters were so fresh and delicious. The gumbo was excellent and the home made key lime pie was over the top. The service was super friendly and the atmosphere was great. We enjoyed eating on the porch, watching dolphin, pelicans, osprey and fish plus...the view. Like I said "It doesn't get any better than this".More

The oysters are very very delicious and fresh. The view from the deck is gorgeous. Laughing gulls serenade us through our entire meal. We also viewed pelicans and the beautiful Bay.

Everyone in my family loves Lynn's. I always get the crab legs, most of the other restaurants have crab cakes. My husband always gets the oysters & then spends the next week trying to find another restaurant in the area with better oysters. He has...not found one yet. This last trip our daughter got the boiled shrimp & just flipped. When my brother & his wife go to SGI he gets fresh seafood & fish to prepare at their cottage. We take our dog & eat on the patio. My only complaint is the restroom. It is the typical gas station restroom from the 1960's. Always clean, but you have to back in.More

Both the wife and I ordered the boiled crab. We were served what appeared to be and tasted like a frozen snow crab cluster. It was dry. Not what we expected from a restaurant in a fishing village on the Gulf of Mexico.

Oysters are good but the shrimp is the real star here IMO. Awesome friendly service and a cool outdoor deck. Key lime pie was also a great treat.

At the suggestion of someone in the Local chamber of commerce we drove to this restaurant/fish retailer. We were a little disappointed by the oysters that we ordered, which were baked or oysters Rockefeller. On the other hand, we did buy some fresh shrimp and...they were very good when we cooked them later.More

Excellent fresh fish to take home to cook. But that $40 key lime pie is definitely not worth it. Although it is good, it is not the best we have ever had and meringue is not supposed to be thin and flat. Some Like it...Hotter on St George Island has a good key lime pie for a third of the price.More
