We arrived at 5pm on Valentines Day WITHOUT reservations and was seated next to the river in one hour. We were impressed as our dinner was served very quickly. Very good fried shrimp, cheese grits and slaw!

I ate at Swampy's Bar and Grille on a Sunday in early December. The atmosphere of being on the river makes the food taste even better. It was fun watching the kayakers, the pontoons, and the boats go up the river. The table was right...on the deck overlooking the river. The fish tacos were delicious! The staff is really friendly and efficient. Food is served quickly. Swampy's is well worth the money.More
Meals are tasty, hot, fast and well served. Fantastic view for a casual restaurant. I love tom atch the birds on the waterfront...kayaking close by as well.
Our new neighbors Mike & Cheryl from Up-north took us out for dinner...their treat. We suggested Swampys which they enjoyed. Katie, our server gave excellent service with a smile. There was an anhinga drying its wings in a tree across the river. Great photo op....Mike ordered gator bites appetizer for the table. Yum-eee, especially dipped in the tasty rémoulade sauce. Tom had a Swampys burger with coleslaw that he said was 'Okay". I had a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich with awesome cheesy grits...excellent. The one concern every time we go to Swampys is getting out of the lot back onto SR200...Dangerous!More
What can I say? The view is phenomenal, the food just yummy, and the staff are friendly. they allow our puppy to eat with us. parking is easy. etc. etc.
Went with my wife and a family member for my birthday dinner. Food was good and the service was very good. View of the river was very nice and relaxing. The food came out very fast. Wear mosquito repellent if you dine around dusk. We...were getting bit up by the end of dinner.More
My friend and I had the Shrimp, Sausage and Grits and I gotta tell ya, it was so tasty and seasoned just right. Hubby had wings and our friend had the Philly Cheese Steak. Everyone was super happy with their food. Cooked to perfection. The...view is wonderful as you are seated right by the Rainbow River. Would definitely recommend eating here.More
This was the second time I booked Swampy's for a large group of people and they really out did themselves. The managers were very attentive and our waitress, Candace was exceptional. The kitchen staff whipped the meals out as fast as they got the orders....The food was exceptional, as usual. Dealing with a large group (of women bikers) is always challenging but they met the challenge. I heard no complaints, and I would have been the one to get them! Thanks, Swampy's for treating us so well.More
BEST location just about in all of Dunnellon - right there by the clear and beautiful Rainbow River, and yes, a river DOES flow through the Town of Dunnellon! Unfortunately in my honest opinion with this great location and VERY popular I feel they could...TRULY bring the food up a few notches - it is DEFFINITELY hit and miss - a TOP CHEF is pertinent to a successful restaurant - drinks are fine there and no better view - people tubing, kayaking, and all the other water sports go by, stop in and it's IS fun ... but lacking.More
This was based on location and atmosphere. They let us bring our puppy dog and was very accommodating to him as well-and to us that is a thumbs up! This is sitting on the Rainbow River, so it does not get any prettier than that-our...beer was cold, our food was good, and the atmosphere was relaxing/fun! We were visiting the State Park up the road and this was a great detour for the evening! Check it out!!!More
This cajun restaurant is fabulous. Located beside the Rainbow River in Dunellon, guests can enjoy delicous authentic cajun food while watching kayaks and boats ease down the beautiful river. Our awesome server Courtney was very polite, charming, and efficient. She did a great job! The...jamabalaya was delicious and authentic. Having spent years in south Louisiana myself, this is the real deal. You won't be disappointed. We will definitely go back.More
Great atmosphere. Great food. Great server. Charged $8 for two $3.50 beers. Meal was $34.22. Give the servers two $20's & received $5 change (shorted 78¢). I know this isn't much, but the idea of it.
Had a large party on a Sunday afternoon - waitress took us as her last table and was FABULOUS. Food was great, environment was fun - hope our waitress has a happy healthy baby!
Took friend for hour ride to get here. Bragged about it all the way to bide time. Seated quickly upon arrivals had a couple appetizers and drinks before placing order. We were seated next to water and river was generally still. I opted for pasta...jambalaya as my entree. It was about a 10-15 minute wait for food. Absolutely wonderful flavor and commendable portion size. I’d stop8; if haven’t before…you’ll be amazed at the ambience and scenery.More
Excellent food and service and scenery is just out of a fairytale. We ordered a local draft, shrimp and crawfish etoufee, seafood Mac n cheese, gator bites and and key lime pie for dessert and everything was delicious! Locals had recommended us this place and...we were so happy that we went!More
