This place is outstanding. We had superb, fresh, delicious foods. The ambience and service excellent. We sat on a covered patio. Indoor dining is also an option. The price point is so reasonable. Highly recommend you go, if in Dunedin, FL! Would also be worth...the drive should you be in Tampa, Clearwater, Tarpon Springs area, or any distance up to 30- 40 minutes away.More

The service was really good and we enjoyed our meals - chicken parmesan and vegetable curry over rice. The prices are a bit on the high side and there were not a lot of vegetarian options. Nice location in Dunedin.

I have always had excellent dining experiences in this restaurant and this trip was just good. The chicken parm withthe pasta and meat sauce was very good and i would reommend that. But the grouper my wife had justwas not fresh and I even had...a sour stomach after tasting it. This is NOT a palce for seafood and if you just rememebr that you will be all set. The desserts looked wonderful but we passed as some of those had walnuts in them which I must now avoid due to allergies. It is unfortunate how some places seem to continue to add these allergins that really do not affect the taste otherwise. We dined outside and brought our dig who sat under the table. This is a dog friendly restaurant. I look forward to going back for another Italian entree.More

Went back for a second time for dinner. Eggplant parm to chicken salad. Service by W was excellent. He helped guide our selections and gave details of specials of the day. Seating pleasant with inside or out options.

Right on the Pinellas Trail in downtown Dunedin this is a good spot with reasonable prices, American and Italian food, and great service. The only downside is that the beer selection is rather limited - you need to go a few doors down the trail...for that...More

The beautiful lights, real roses, lovely decor make this a win win in the rain. Parking free right across street, you just settle in & enjoy. Hubby had this delish salmon w/green beans & rice, I asked for my pot stickers or pork egg rolls...but they're still outta both. So I had the wonderful feta cheese alfresco w/this greeeat bread. It sits on marinara sauce, so you can put it on the cheesy bread too. Dessert from the big bakery display was pineapple upside down cake, & you can't mess that up, lol. Served by witty Woody who was quick, efficient & friendly. Do drop in!More

This restaurant is right by the Pinella Trails. There is an outside dining area with 6 tables. Service is quite good. Portions are huge. I was told that the soups and desserts are home made from scratch, and they do taste fresh. While this doesn't...look like a place for great fish and chips, they were amazingly good. For starters they use New England cod, and the batter was light and crunchy. The fries are really delicious too. Portions are very generous.More

Last minute dinner after driving all day to a area we’ve never been. Really good food with great service. The white bean soup was very flavorful and went perfect with the lil yummy dinner rolls the waitress brought out. The order of chicken piccata that...I split with my mom was easily enough for at least 3 people. Hated to leave any but got full less then half way through. Lovely lemon sauce with capers and perfectly cooked pasta on the side made for one of the best chicken piccata I’ve ever had. Dad ordered the chicken livers with onions and some brown gravy accompanied by rice and he also absolutely loved his meal. Our waitress was really good, friendly and attentive. Super cute quaint location that I will come back to for sure.More

Fo many years we’ve always enjoyed Cafe Alfresco until last night. I always get the crab crab cakes which used to be good size last time about 9 months ago I noticed they were much smaller but still good…I asked our server Osh what the...market price was this time he said I believe $28.00, that was a huge increase from last time so I got shrimp scampi and my wife ordered salmon which was over cooked, dry, and the edges hard. They always served a very nice salad but our server said they no longer serve salads WHAT? We had to pay a $1.99 up charge for each salad which our server never brought to the table until we got our meals ( we saw the salads sitting on the kitchen counter) ..when we went to eat our salads the lettuce leaves were brown. So…huge price increases..food not like what it used to be, salad that was not fresh and no longer included with the meal, and though our server was a very nice polite young man and most likely new on the job he needs better training. After eating there for quite some time we will not go backMore

We did some biking along the Pinellas Trail and out to Honeymoon Island State Park, and worked up a lunch appetite. Cafe Alfresco didn't disappoint! We enjoyed our lunch--the salmon salad was lovely and my husband's pulled chicken sandwich had none of the issues mentioned...in the earlier post. Our server was super polite and attentive. Dunedin is charming and worth a stroll about Main St.More

Cafe Alfresco has always been a "go to" spot for lunch for my husband and me. Unfortunately, today's experience has changed that. Things were going well until we began our entrees. I order the pulled chicken sandwich special. The chicken was moist and flavorful and...the roll was soft and tasty. The portion was large so I cut it in half. When I bit into the last bite of that first half, I bit into a big piece of skin and grizzle. Okay, that happens. The next bite was all fatty chicken skin. I picked up the op of the roll and more than 1/2 of the remaining sandwich was skin and grizzle. The waitress apologized and asked it I wanted something else. I said, " no thanks, I kind of lost my appetite. I'll take a box for my dog." She took the plate and returned saying she told the chef and manager and would like to offer me a free dessert. Again, I said " no thanks but if you'd like to take the price of a dessert off the bill, that would be very nice." That's when she said, " well, you're taking the sandwich home so it's full price. If you give us back the sandwich, I'll take it off the bill." I told her to please take the sandwich and take it off the bill. RIDICULOUS! I wasn't asking for the whole thing to be comped but, apparently, it was all or nothing. We never saw a manager and were treated like we were trying to pull a fast one, despite the pile of skin and grizzle on my plate. Having worked my way through high school and college as a server, we still tipped on what would have been the full bill, but will not go back. The attached photo is all the inedible pieces in only part of a sandwich.More

The 4 of us were looking for a dinner that would be prepared and served, allowing us time to get to the Dunedin High School production of the Adams Family. We shared the crab cake dinner with asparagus. For a $4 extra plate we each...got two delicious crab cakes in a short time and were able to get to the play in plenty of time. Our waiter, Woody, was very accomondating. Atmosphere at Cafe Alfresco was relaxing and we did some 'people watching' of those passing out on the Pinellas trail. The DHS production was of 5 star quality as well.More

Love the portobello mushroom burger. Have been seeing this on the menu for years but this is the first time I ordered it. Very juicy. I substituted potato salad for the fries. Potato salad is a good recipe using redskin potatoes. Enjoyed a glass of...Pinot Grigio. Love the blueberry pie. Shared it with my husband, along with the daily special lemon cake. The lemon cake was fine, but I shouldn't bother trying their other desserts; I love their blueberry pie and intend to order that every time I visit. So, next time the husband suggests we share 2 desserts, my answer is, you can order whatever you want, but I'm having the entire portion of blueberry pie myself! As always, excellent service. They hire the best people and train them very well.More
