About
Brotula's Seafood House & Steamer is a locally-owned & operated, casual, family friendly seafood restaurant on the Destin Harbor. The name Brotula's is derived from the Bearded Brotula or Cusk Eel that is caught right here in the local waters at depths of 350 feet. It is one of the best kept secrets among the local fishing community and some amazing tasting fish. Here at Brotula's we specialize in fresh, locally-sourced seafood, produce, and a wide array of steamed and boiled shellfish platters that are integrated into a fun and rustic, yet sophisticated southern fish house. Some of our most popular dishes includes the steamed snow crab, lobsters, and mussels. The Chef Inspired menu will display

Went with my family for dinner. We placed our order and were told we had to order appetizers separate from entrees, so we did. Last time I check appetizer are supposed to come out before entrees, not after or at the same time. Now we...have no room to eat. Who coates their salads in salt? This was the first time my son has tried crab legs. I could have bought him some form Publix for less and they would have had more flavor. I will not be returning and wasting my money.More

The food was good not great. As many have reviewed before, the portions were tiny for the price. #1 in Destin is kind of a joke to me. They were slow and so was our service somehow. Maybe a bad day but judging from some...previous reviews, they need to reconsider portions for sure.More

Had a reservation, so no wait for us. Service was slow, but our server was very nice. Food was good, but not spectacular. You have options for seating inside or out.

I ordered a drink and it had food in it (not a big deal) so I asked for a new drink (the same kind) I’m a server also, so I hoped they wouldn’t just take the food out and top my drink off with juice....Welp, they did just that! I watched them the whole time. I even wiped off the sugar that was on the rim to make sure I received a new drink. My “new“ drink had the same wiped off sugar on it. I was so frustrated that The bartender put her hand in my drink and tried to reserve it to me. I asked for a completely different drink to ensure the same thing didn’t happen and the manager approached my table with two drinks ”ensuring” they made me a new drink. I feel as a manager you should spend less time trying to prove the customer wrong and being argumentative and more time providing good customer Service. There was no apology, just finger pointing. On top of that, we were charged for both drinks even though I drank one. I understand you are understaffed and it’s hard. But understand that we the customers aren’t getting a discount because you are understaffed so we expect professionalism and good customer service regardless because the menu isn't cheap. I’m a local and I have suggested this establishment To A LOT people. Now that will be changing for sure! It’s not about the issue of food being in my cup, its how the manager and bartender handled the situation.More

We stopped by for their happy hour specials after walking the Harbor Walk. Overall, we had a great experience. Our server was friendly and the half off apps were awesome. The preztels were as good as I have had. Our main dishes were great. My...wife ordered the chicken sandwich (it was massive) and I ordered the fried fish. Fried fish was good, but I felt like the serving could have been bigger.More

The food was good but overpriced for what you get! We ate here because they took reservations but it sounded like they did away with them. So we were lucky not having to wait the 2 hrs wait. We enjoyed what we got. We shared...the Alaskan crab legs, the shrimp and grits and the pecan crusted grouper. They have a big outdoor seating area with heaters that overlooks the water so the view was nice. Our server was very attentive maybe too attentive like they were trying to rush us out so that they could seat another party.More

Excellent crab and lobster platters. It’s a bit expensive but worth it for the amount of food you get. The wait was a bit long but we didn’t mind since the view on the back deck was nice. We would visit again!

We were looking for a restaurant to prepare our freshly caught fish and let me say, the chef here is a genius! Our youngest who does not eat fish, ate 4 delicious pieces. Now that is saying something! Our waiter Cal went above and beyond...to make sure we had everything we needed and the whole staff was friendly. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!More

Yes they do. We were the solo brave couple sitting out side at 50F. Plenty of heat to keep you warm. Well, that is if you are from the Northern States.
