I just adored the variety of cupcakes available at their shop, and only wish I could have tried them all. But, there is only so much...stomach room. BUYER BEWARE!! This business took $156 from us for a custom birthday cake, ordered 1 month in advance!! We call ahead to pick up our cake. No answer. We drive to the business to find NO PEOPLE & NO CAKE. The business was closed. No...phone call until 5 days later! The owner gave an incredibly convoluted “circle speak” story about her sister owner seller / financing to some guy named Jason who ran the business into the ground, now the sister is having to take the business back, but they aren’t refunding money. HMMMMM!! I disputed through my credit card company. Bottom line - BUYER BEWARE!More
Had bought these cupcakes for a gathering after my son’s wedding. Ordered several flavors, including some gluten free varieties! All were excellent! None of the chemical flavor you get from many places. Everyone was tasting all the different flavors and having debates over which one...was best! loved all the flavors!!!!More
I have absolutely no clue why people rate these cupcakes as great. You could make a better cupcake at home. These are typical generic cupcakes with a little frosting on top and to be honest with you they’re not even that tasty. Somebody brought us...some in the office and we’ve had these before and usually myself and the other women in the office just throw them away because they aren’t worth the calories. If you want really good cupcakes I recommend nothing Bundt cakes since those are really moist and really tasty. The cupcake you get from small cakes taste like just something you could make it home from a mix and if we didn’t live in a tourist town I don’t think they would survive as a company since people who are on vacation think everything they eat is fantastic.More
I had a birthday this week. Cake is literally my favorite food. I have not had sugar in 5 years and since it was a milestone birthday, I decided that I deserved to eat cake. I don't live here but did my research and decided...to order my special cake from SmallCakes of Destin. I told them what I wanted and that I LOVE frosting! They made the cake exactly how I like and they were thoughtful enough to add extra frosting, to the point that it was actually heavy when I carried it! HAHA. Bought Cannoli Cupcakes. Very nicely decorated with a cannoli looking cannoli on top. No cannoli filling or flavor. The top of the yellow cupcake was covered in white frosting and the little cannoli shell was filled with the same white frosting. Traditional cannoli filling has...ricotta cheese and great flavor. This is a look a like cupcake that would be much better if it had real cannoli flavor and not just frosting!More
I have eaten cupcakes from a lot of different bakeries, including some that have been on Cupcake Wars and other TV shows. Honestly, these cupcakes were one of THE BEST I have ever had! You really can't go wrong with any of the flavors. LOVED!
These are the best cupcakes I’ve ever had. And beyond being delicious, they are beautiful too. We ordered the birthday cake, chocolate cream, strawberry and lemon. They hit it out of the park with these cupcakes.
A friend surprised us with 4 absolutely delicious cupcakes - rasberry, carrot cake, chocolate and wedding cupcake. Each cupcake was light, moist and delicious! Can't wait to visit this place and try some more flavors!!
I don’t think the rest of my group would rate this as high, but I just really thought it was yum! Very fluffy and light cake with delicious icing. They are pretty expensive for a cupcake though.
We planned a girls trip to Destin, Fl to celebrate a 40th birthday. I research for a spot that had a good cake menu. Came across Small Cakes of Destin online. I called to inquire and was immediately surprised on how fast and readily available...the staff was willing to assist. I’m located in S. Fl and was not able to sample the cake or see how the cake would look like in person. Haven notified me and created a cake to go along with our girls trip theme. Not only did Haven provided me with great customer service the cake was more than I expected. We had a cake that was pink champagne with fresh berries and pink Moscato bottles on it. Smallcakes has delicious cupcakes, we ordered a variety for a birthday and they were all fantastic and did not last long. The staff at the bakery was very helpful prior to placing my order, answering every odd question I had as we were from out...of town and had never been there before. I ordered a cake for my husband's birthday, which fell the first night of our family vacation. His favorite is strawberry cake with lemon frosting, and when I was ordering she asked if we wanted filling between the layers. I hadn't thought about that and...she said they could do strawberry or lemon, or both. OH MY GOODNESS! Our family absolutely loved it! Even without the filling, the cake was moist and the icing was perfect, but the suggestion for a filling between layers was the best idea ever. We also grabbed a selection of cupcakes and that we're still working through, but everything is amazing so far. Definitely try the maple bacon, it reminded us of breakfast :-)More
