We live in the local area and bric-a-brac is one of our favorite restaurants. I love the grouper on grit cake, it is one of my favorite meals! We like to go on Friday nights for the live music from Jones and Company and if...the dancing lady is there as we call her, you’re in for a treat! She’s got some moves. Don’t leave without getting dessert, hard to pick a favorite because they are all so yummy, but key lime and bread pudding are our usuals.More

Our waitress was great and very sweet. The food was mediocre at best. Everything was drowned in some sort of butter sauce. The decor was kinda cool and funky. Not a terrible experience but we won’t go back.

Beware! Don’t get hoodwinked! I went to Bric a Brac for dinner. We had a reservation for a party of six which includedmyself, my husband and four children. The decor and ambience was great with live music. My smile turned upside down when the waitress...presented the bill, where there was a difference of $12 between a credit card payment and cash payment. This was not mentioned on the restaurant’s website or the restaurant’s menu. The manager stated this is something that the restaurant was recently doing. He showed us a nondescript sign on the back of the entrance door, where you would only see it when upon exiting the restaurant. The sign didn’t mention the 4% surcharge for credit card payment. I was told that I could use the ATM machine to make a cash payment. However, given it wasn’t in my banking network, I would also be charged additional fees. So basically, at the time of payment, I would be charged additional fees for either a credit card or cash payment. Definitely walked away with a sour taste in my mouth. Can’t believe I didn’t have a opportunity to decide whether I could get cash on the way to the restaurant or better yet choose one that doesn’t have a 4% credit card surcharge.More

Their crab cakes are #1 in Destin? They we’re highly recommended but not on the menu. I should’ve asked how much, because I wouldn’t have ordered them if I knew they were $38. They were extremely overpriced & average tasting. The mashed potatoes were fabulous...though! My husbands chicken pasta was ok. The chicken was tasty but the pasta was scarce on the sauce & bland. Very disappointed!More

Delicious food, got the blackened grouper and the grit cake was to die for. Save room for the key lime pie, better than Key West!

To be fair some people like their crab cakes soaked in butter, but we are not fans. If you like mushy crab cakes and loud music, this is your place.

The crab cakes are delicious, all crabmeat no fillers. I agree with the reviewer who said they are pricey. They say they are 4 oz each but they didn’t look like they were. My mom also had them but said she didn’t think they were...as good as they are hyped up to be. Mom in law had the chicken dinner, she said it was really good and she appreciated the homemade mashed potatoes. The coconut shrimp and sauce was also raves about. Daughter in law had the shrimp ceviche, it was just ok. There’s live entertainment, we went on a Saturday night. The hostess provided a scavenger hunt for the littles who were there. This is a neat place, I loved the atmosphere and my grand baby loved the chandeliers. There’s not much on the menu but definitely worth a visit. ***Large groups are charged 20% gratuity to each bill. My son didn’t appreciate this but I expected it. Our waitress was great, she cheated herself though because we always leave more.More

We opened the doors and were shocked by the busy colors and the noisy music, but luckily we were placed far from the speakers. Cindy was our waitress; she was very nice and helpful. We were a little shocked by the prices on the menu,...since the atmosphere didn’t scream “fine dining”. I had the Shrimp Scampi and my wife had one of the specials, Shrimp & Grits. We also ordered a couple beers, since it was still happy hour. We found it surprising that we weren’t given or offered any water. The food was good, but not great. The shrimp tails were still attached, so we both had to dig the shrimp out of the cream sauce and shell them. There is a local and military discount, which helped. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and a decent meal.More

Some local friends highly recommended this reasuraunt and they were spot on. Interesting memorabilia makes a local decor and plenty of space for large groups. Service is great and food is outstanding. Prices are very good for large serving sizes. The Bric a Brac Chicken...is a definite must and the Key Lime pie is one of the best. A little off the main travel paths, it is worth checking out when in Destin.More

The ambiance was very cool. We enjoyed looking at the cool decor and our server was pretty efficient. I ordered the crab cakes because I enjoy getting "well known dishes". They were great. When the bill came, we were shocked! My husband and I have...been servers for years before we fell into our current careers and we always tip well. Well above 25%, but we could not after what happened...Our bill was originally over $122 for a family of four. We noticed that we were charged for an appetizer that never came out, which they willfully took off. BUT we noticed that our kid's meals were both $15! The menu advertised something entirely differently. When i asked the server, she said, "I'm sorry, but they were already eaten so we can't take them off. They were wrung up as adult meals." We were left speechless. Our 3 year old was literally charged $15 for a shrimp basket when we specifically asked for KIDS meals. And when we pointed out this error, they still charged us for adult meal prices 🤦🏾‍♀️ I strongly urge any families to take their business elsewhere. We are vacationing in the area and unfortunately, this may be the only restaurant that we have had to write a negative review on. I strongly suggest that they may be a bit more flexible with families with young children and ensuring that they honor prices that were advertised.More
