The food was right in line with a chain reataurant. Good food but not exceptional. If you have not experienced a fondue dinner...you need to. It's fun. Now to why only 3 stars.....our waitress needs more training in the art of waiting tables. I had...to ask 4 times for refills. THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN! She would disappear for long periods of time. Customers should NEVER have to be looking around for wait staff. Now...she was very friendly and she had some knowledge of the menu and the food. She did say she had only been on the job for 2 weeks. But still..More

At 4:45 we were turned away because they were "completely full" when we were the only people in the entire restaurant. Literally all the tables were open and the waitstaff were just on their phones. We have a little girl on a cancer retreat that...just wanted to try fondue, but they are too busy.More

Terrible service! Took 30 minutes to get our drinks, we received our first course before drinks. We did not want salads, our server did not know if salads were included or separate. When he brought our second course he dropped the food off and left,...he explained read the sign about the sauces and cooking times. We stopped a Manager to tell her about our horrible experience so she could bring us our first drink. She didn’t check on us again. When you are paying a high bill, you would expect amazing service for having to cook your own food. There is way better restaurants in Destin...More

This was our first trip to a Melting Pot. It was fantastic. The server, Madison, was very helpful and patient. She explained everything to us and answered all of our questions. We were unsure what to order, but was spot on what we decided. The...Wisconsin cheddar fondue was amazing. The caesar salads were very delicious. The flaming turtle chocolate fondue was the best!! Lots of items to dip and all very tasty. Would return, definitely.More

SERVICE: Terrible. I literally had to open our bottle of wine for the waitress because she didn’t know how to (no, really). We had to send back a Margarita twice because it was terrible. Then, after our salad and before the entree fondue, our waitress...disappeared for an hour only for us to be visited by two separate waitresses about 20 mins into the ghosting. Between the salad and when we actually got our entree pot set & the food to cook in was 35-ish minutes. Next, our original waitress reappeared at the very end right after the dessert fondue was finished and acted like nothing happened. I asked for the manager and some disheveled kid with a Mickey Mouse tie on walked over and argued with me about how blah blah blah countering everything I said. I wasn’t looking for a comp or a discount even though on a $270 meal I should of been, I just wanted my tip to go to the two waitresses that a looked after us while ours disappeared for such a long time and the incompetent manager told me the tip would be going to our non existent waitress and not the ones that actually helped us. Whatever, this particular location sucks and that manager should get lost. FOOD: You cook it yourself so really can’t go wrong. The cheese fondue was not mixed or prepared well by the waitress.More

We are seasoned Melting Pot patrons but were let down by our experience last night. A group of seven went for my sister's birthday and it was lack luster. We were sat in a back room and it was freezing from start to finish. Our...service was mediocre; a lot of glasses that needed refills (a water pitcher was placed on a serving tray), sweetener for tea was never given, lag time between courses seemed a bit longer than normal. We saw as much of the support/kitchen staff as we did our server. Beware that the added gratuity for a table of 5 or more is 20%! I am fine with adding 10-15% and allowing the patrons to add more. I worked in the industry for years and I am appalled at what we got for 20% and spending close to $600. If we decide to go back, we will probably drive to the P'Cola location.More

Where do I start? We were hoping for a fun dinner experience for NYE. We have only been to the Melting Pot twice over several years so we were hoping our waitress would direct us on how everything would work and make our experience memorable....She never greeted us with what I think would be the first greeting, “have you ever been to the Melting pot? Let me tell you how tonight’s menu will work.” We had to ask all the questions and drag any responses out of her that were far from service oriented answers. First question, “what fondue is usually the most popular?” Our waitress, “I have no idea haven’t tasted these, they are new for the NYE menu, read the ingredients and see what sounds good.” This is how the night went, no experience what so ever offered! Then when our grill pan was heating up, my husband took his straw and let one drip of water out on grill pan to make sure it was hot enough as he likes to cook our steak as hot as possible; it did sizzle and cause some smoke but you would think we started a grease fire the way the “manager” ran over and told us “we ruined the pan.” He went on and on even though the sizzle lasted 15 seconds and was over before he got to our table and it was quite embarrassing the “huge” overreaction, then he charged us $30 on our ticket without even letting us know he was charging us for the pan! Supposedly, we ruined the pan over one drip of water, we cook a lot and we asked for the “ruined pan” as we will be using this pan for years to come telling the story of how hard it must be to get “normal” managers when your restaurant is far from successful! Now we remember why we have only been here once every 10 years, food isn’t that great and service doesn’t make up for it!More

This was our first trip to a Melting Pot. The service was exceptional with the waitress explaining how things work. We decided to go with the dinner that included everything to get the most of the experience. We also decided to go with the recommended...favorites on each course. The cheese fondue was plentiful, don't recommend the favorite selection though. A little on the bitter side. The salads were average. The main course was plentiful as well and the sauces were good. We had the flaming turtle chocolate which was very tasteful. Unfortunately there was not enough chocolate to finish our pieces of dessert. We inquired about getting some additional chocolate we were told there would be a charge. This was the only pot that was not served full as the other pots. For the price of the meal this really should not have been an issue. Our meal for two was almost $150 with tip. It is a unique dining experience, just not worth the price.More

Horrible service and mediocre food at best. Probably the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Made reservations one month in advance and specified it was for a child’s birthday celebration but when we arrived we still got seated in the bar area. Sat for 20...minutes without anyone greeting us - despite the fact that we were literally right next to the area where waiters pick up the drinks for their tables i.e multiple servers saw us sitting for over 20 min with no water, drinks, food etc. I finally went to the hostess stand to complain and the manager that came to help was actually one of the exact same ladies who I saw helping waiters with their drink orders and literally passed our table a million times and saw us sitting with no water, or food, or service for 20 min. Apparently its more important to help others who have already been greeted and ordered their alcoholic beverages than it is to help customers who have obviously not even been greeted for over 20 minutes. She apologized and said that as a gesture of her apology she will move us to a table in the main dining area rather than the bar AND will ask one of her servers to greet us and wait on our table - incredible - clearly a very over and beyond gesture of apologizing- (definite sarcasm here). At least they’re consistent in their - her specifically- level of customer service. The waiter that finally greeted us was very nice, but the dinner entree absolutely not worth the price and tasted ok at best. Save your money, time and peace of mind and go somewhere else - especially for a special occasion because you will feel anything but here.More

Well, my group went casual, so I say go as you are, and no other guests seemed to be dressed formal.
