From the terrible food, to the dirty establishment, to the rude and hygenically challenged manager... this place is to be avoided like the plague. Learn how to make a sandwich before calling yourself a deli.

If possible, I would give them zero stars!!! Been clients of Poppies for 30 to 40 years. We moved to Vero Beach recently, however my husband was in Delray Beach recovering from Covid. My husband picked up 4 quarts of chicken soup on Friday to...bring back to Vero for myself and my son’s family because we all got Covid. All 4 quarts were sour (tasted like they made it two weeks in advance) and had to trash them. Called Poppies and they refused to acknowledge that it was possible and basically told us to drive 2 hours from Vero beach to Delray to return the sour soup. They basically called my husband a lier. WHAT RESTAURANT SERVES FOOD THATS OVER A WEEK OLD AND THEN ACCUSES THE CLIENTS OF LYING? You should be ashamed of yourselves!!!More

Service with an awkward smile to overworked people . I really like their familiar breakfast items like blintzes and corned beef hash. Overstuffed sandwiches are found and large portions do oriole can take home. They do a lot of baking as people will buy a...lot of takeout are comfortable with. Prices have increased with the pandemic but are okay in general. They have great bialys. And baked items that bring a smile to my face. Try it snd you will a fan. They now close early due to lack of labor.More

Some months ago we had lunch here and it was pretty good- I liked the matzoh ball soup- so we decided to try it for breakfast. I had a Greek omelet but it was inedible. The spinach hadn’t been precooked so it made everything watery....There were just a few cubes of tasteless feta and the service wasn’t good but we assumed that breakfast food just wasn’t Poppies strength. So, we went back for lunch. This time the service was atrocious- in addition to being ignored, when we finally were able to order and were served, the waitress- who was the same server as our visit for breakfast- literally dumped half my soup on the table and just walked away. Also, although we ordered exactly the same items as our first lunch visit the food wasn’t great.More

After patronizing this restaurant for over 25 years when in Florida - We are done. A non-lean corned beef sandwich is now $16.95 (+$1.50 for lean). Portions are smaller, potato pancakes for $3.00 are soggy, greasy and not made to order. Waitress was AWOL except...to take order and deliver the check. Small matzah ball soup is now $7.00 and a large is $10 and is served barely warm. I told cashier our sandwiches did not come with the coleslaw or pickle which was to be included. She said if I wanted she could get it for us to take to take back to our hotel! We felt ripped off and took a pass - for good.More

We like Poppies for lunch so decided to try it for breakfast. Service was good- our server was Tammy- and it is very clean but the food was terrible. My Greek omelet was practically inedible. Perhaps it because the spinach wasn’t cooked before it was...added to the eggs but the entire plate was full of water. So wet that I had to move the potatoes and bagel to the very edge of the plate so they didn’t get wet although they were still damp. On top of it, the omelet didn’t taste good even with the tomatoes and feta cheese. In fact, the feta was bland which was surprising, because feta isn’t a bland cheese, if only for the salt. My meal was a soggy tasteless mess. At the next table the patrons were having Matzo ball soup for breakfast. I think they must have known something I didn’t know at the time. Whatever the time of day, stick to lunch.More

We had a nice here and enjoyed the special of soup and a half a sandwich. The matzo ball soup was perfect and a generous bowl. I had a half a roast beef sandwich and the server didn’t blink when I asked for Russian dressing...for it. That is a classic deli. My husband enjoyed his bowl of chicken noodle soup and half a pastrami sandwich. Both came with a pickle and good coleslaw. We would return.More

Had breakfast. Ordered ham and eggs. Ham was a couple of slices of boiled ham. The home fries were soggy and greasy, and not edible. The bagel was small and dry. Used to be a favorite of mine but no more. My wife and I came with hopes of a nice Late lunch. No service available at 3 pm outside so we sat inside. We waited almost 10 minutes in a 90 pct. empty room snd...it still took 10 minutes to get a waitperson. That should have told us that Service is way off. Food is still good but you need to have an attentive staff. With many other choices it will be a while before we return. Fix your act before you get no one coming. Aldo the cabbage soup is inedible .More
