Very crowded and noisy. Small family restaurant. Heard lots about this restaurant, which did not live up to expectations. Portions were small but delicious.

My steak was cooked to perfection! Great selection of wine. I loved all my sides. Great for a date night or business meeting.
The service and food was wonderful. This was our first visit and we can’t wait to go back to try more of the menu. My wife had the Fruit of the Sea. Delicious! The sauce was bursting with flavor. I had the Pan Seared Snapper...with Risotto. I really enjoyed it. Don’t forget to try the oysters. The Key Lime Pie was some of the best I have ever had.More
Great seafood in a small cozy place. Snapper and grouper special, were outstanding. Sizeable portions. Not cheap, but fair priced. No liquor license. Note…No vintage champagne and minimal wine list.. corkage fee was high at &25/btl. Make sure you have a reservation as place gets packed...with us locals.fyi..not the the season for clams.saw them served and were about the size of a thumbnailMore
First place we eat when in Delray Beach. Love to do lunch. Quiet excellent service and ALWAYS great food. Never disappoints
This small seafood restaurant in quaint Delray has definitely earned the fabulous reputation it holds. Tonight - super fab gazpacho and snapper/shrimp. I've never loved key lime pie, but theirs is to die for.
Came here because of Trip Advisor but it was New Years eve and there was a limited menu so this review will have to be completed another time. We did get the feeling, however, that this is a good quality restaurant that prepares excellent food....Wouldnt waste my time reviewing a mediocre restaurant when Delray has so much to offer and this meal was fabulous even on busy New Years eve. I started with a wonderful plate of Bluepoint oysters topped with sour cream and caviar that was to die for! My wife had a surf and turf with a filet that could be cut with a butterknife. I had excellent grilled halibut with a wonderful, unusually flavored risotto and asparagus. Terrific meal and great service- even on New Years eve. I do have a few criticisms for the foodies out there as well as the chef who might read this. The halibut was a tiny bit dry- but still flavorful. The sauces need a little improvement. The Au Jus on the filet as well as the caramel on the delicious bread pudding, both had a slightly burnt flavor. Cant wait to come back and see their full menu and try some other dishes. The chef goes to a lot of trouble with excellent flavorings and spices and if he worked on the sauces, the total taste experience would be staggering.More
We’ve been coming here for almost 20 years for special occasions and have never been disappointed. Our party of four started with an assortment of oysters that were fresh and delicious, and we shared a table salad. My wife had J&J TOWER 5OZ FILET-2 GRILLED-SHRIMP...& CRAB CAKE OVER MASHED POTATOES & VEGETABLE VEAL DEMI-GLACE AND LEMON BUERRE BLANC. We were both impressed by the tenderness and taste it had LOBSTER FRA DIABLO-1.5 LB MAINE LOBSTER, 2 CLAMS & 2 SHRIMP OVER LINGUINI IN A SPICY MARINARA SAUCE. It was the best Fra Diablo I've ever had. One of our friends had FRUITS OF THE SEA-LOBSTER, CLAMS, SHRIMP, MUSSELS & SCALLOPS, IN A LEMON ROSE SAUCE SERVED OVER LINGUINI and enjoyed it. His wife had the yellow tail snapper special that she thoroughly loved. Our dessert was a special request off menu of Banana Bread that had caramel drizzle. They said they didn’t do it anymore, but they surprised us and had it ready. It was a delightful surprise for my wife’s birthday! It was fantastic. We like J & J Seafood because it is not in the center of the busy downtown Delray Beach and is small and intimate. The food and service are outstanding. The only thing that you should be aware of is that parking is difficult to find, so leave an extra half hour for it. They are by far our favorite place to eat in Delray Beach.More
J&J is a local tradition. Great meals with imagination and good friendly service. Restaurant is small and intimate. Ver much recommend.
I'm local and feel embarrassed this is my first visit to J &J's seafood. Definitely my loss. This is just a small walk down from the main hub-hub of overpriced dining on Delray's Atlantic ave. It may be small, and maybe why the chef is...able to deliver food of such high quality. Fish cooked to perfection with perfect seasoning. Service the perfect amount of attention without being overbearing And somehow the chef manages to handmade desserts too. Definitely recommend. Wish I could give more stars.More
Recommended by a Delray Beach food tour company - small restaurant, interesting menu. Lime curry shrimp and scallop dish was outstanding. We were impressed by the team of 2 (!) women who worked smoothly together to handle orders, service, and the bar. Pricey but worth...it.More
Visited this restaurant while vacationing in Delray. Good choice. We started with a calamari appetizer. Calamari was flavorful but I would have liked to have seen a few more tentacles on the plate. My dining companion and I both ordered the red snapper with champagne...risotto. I ordered mine with the Mediterranean sauce which was optional on this particular evening while my friend ordered with the standard sauce. Both were delicious. Fish was cooked to perfection. For dessert we enjoyed a slice of key lime pie which is a must for me while visiting Florida. The restaurant itself is small but there is something very special about the ambiance of this restaurant. Staff are welcoming, do not rush you and almost make you feel like family. All in all it was a very enjoyable dining experience. Will definitely be back on my next visit to Delray.More
My husband and I went without a reservation but were able to be seated outside on the sidewalk. It was a pleasant night, so it was enjoyable. My husband got the grouper which he enjoyed. I opted for the roasted chicken breast with white bean...ragout and mashed potatoes. The flavor was very good, but the chicken was tough. I had key lime pie for dessert and loved it. Our servers were very pleasant and helpful with the menu. Loved that this was a long standing, private owned restaurant rather than a huge food chain.More
This is not a "dive" but it's not an uppity "place to be on The Avenue". Great seafood presented without pretension. Wonderful personable service. I just wish they served mixed drinks!
Among the many restaurants on Atlantic avenue sits J&J seafood. Not far from the drawbridge this unassuming place which fills up quickly offers a menu with an array of appetizers, salads and entrees. While fresh seafood and shellfish dominate the menu, there were plenty of...other options to choose from. We chose to sit outside and often heard things like “this place is great” by passers by. My dinner companion and I both indulged in the whole lobster fra Diablo after sharing the salad on their specials menu full of large marinated mushrooms. Despite enjoying our food immensely, the portion proved too much for either of us to finish. Each lobster was a pound and a half, perfectly cooked and accompanied by al dente linguini topped with their homemade fra Diablo sauce of which both the tomato garlic and mildly spicy notes were perfectly balanced. Feeling full we resisted the urge to have dessert, but many of the house made selections were very tempting. Our server Jenny was both warm and efficient. She had great knowledge of the menu and was very helpful. One example is when we were discussing the menu but not ready to order she let us know there were only 2 orders of the fra Diablo left. She offered to have the kitchen keep them for us, so when we were ready to order they would be available. The restaurant does take reservations for their indoor seating and it indeed seemed one would be necessary to avoid a wait at dinner time. I highly recommend the restaurant and can see how it’s achieved such a high rating on trip advisor.More
