One of the best dining experiences of my life. Reservations are required, intimate dining room, don’t expect to just show up and get a table. Service was spectacular. Wine list, and service, was exceptional, but was disappointed that there were no wines from Chile. Portabella appetizer was very good! My partner had the duck breast with apples, wow, so good. I had the special: sea bass with tomatoes/shallots/olives/white wine. So good! The desserts were exquisite, espresso was smooth and wonderful. Great atmosphere, great service, food was over-the-top good. This is a perfect restaurant to celebrate a special occasion.

Thankfully the Cellar is unlike other dinning establishments in the area and that is exactly why we keep coming back. We greatly appreciate that the standards are easily noted before arrival and we can always count on an excellent fine dinning experience from beginning to end.
This time we forced ourselves to try new to us dishes, no favorites...which is difficult when you have a thing for homemade pappardelle but I loved the perfectly cooked lamb rack and barolo pairing. My friends duck breast looked amazing and their empty plate confirmed. MMM. I cannot wait to come back and enjoy my next visit with great friends & food!
Ambiance, Food, and Service all FIVE STARS.

The Cellar restaurant is a must have for food not just in Daytona, but all of Florida. From the atmosphere to the food, I have never had any sort of issue with the restaurant in my years of coming here. The restaurant is catered towards fine Italian dining, and it shows with their vast selection of wines and menu full of great dishes that you could never go wrong with. The restaurant has a calming and inviting atmosphere, perfect for dates and anniversaries. Their service is also impeccable. Their servers are always attentive and doing their absolute best to ensure a positive experience for you. The food being their specialty is the star of the show. Not once has the quality or flavor ever ceased to be there. Their chefs have passion for what they make and it all shows in the food they make.
If you do plan on coming to this restaurant do be aware that they require reservations and have dress code you must follow. Even with this, I cannot recommend The Cellar enough for any occasion as the experience you have is second to none anywhere else.

I am writing this review based on overall experience of customer service, atmosphere, ambiance and food of course!
From beginning to end it was not the birthday dinner and experience I thought I would have with all we had heard about this place.
You are greeted by whom we found out later was the owner. She asked us if we had a reservation and took us down to what could only be called your Grandmothers living room with tables in it and stifled conversations going on at three tables. No how were we doing this eve, your first time, welcome; nothing , just a miserable good eve . No exaggeration. We asked to be seated upstairs as we were put in a corner downstairs. Servers walk round like they are terrified of the owner . We ordered a $63 bottle of wine which is $25 online Elizabeth Spence Grenache. What a rip off. If you want extra bread you are charged $5.00 . For bread!! Ridiculous.
Dinner was good but if you cook at home this is nothing special. Salad leaves arranged in one direction with some sunflower seeds and some cheese is nothing special.
She went over to talk to one table and never came over to us to ask how our eve was going and everything was. It was my birthday and they didn’t even bring a little something out to acknowledge that. Most restaurants do. Their service and miserable faces and lack of courtesy is why they are getting this very negative review. Don’t take a cake to celebrate like other places, they won’t let you and she was rude to my husband about it. It is fine but her delivery sucked.
Change your attitudes. Your restaurant is not all that. And improve your customer service and treat everyone the same.
I will not recommend this old home restaurant to anyone. Nothing romantic about it. Go to Carrabas. They greet you with a smile

This restaurant has gained popularity for no reason. Staff are unfriendly and robotic. The Lady owner runs the place like a military, from reservation making to sitting time to ordering food, there is no flexibility. I do not recommend this place.

The food was well prepared and good but the attitude of the staff was off-putting and some of the practices curious. For a highly regarded and pricey restaurant to charge $5.00 for extra bread seems excessive. Obtrusive signs on the table warning of cell phone usage seems unnecessary in a quality eatery.

I went to this restaurant for dinner. The service was impeccable and the atmosphere charming. The owner, Lina, was very attentive and guided us in the choice of wines.
The dishes were of a high standard, especially the Lamb Ossobuco and the Bucatini alla carbonara.
You cannot leave this house without having tasted an excellent tiramisu and the classic cappuccino.
Recommended restaurant for a romantic and gourmet evening.

We had dinner at The Cellar last night and it was one of the best meals we ever had! The staff was so welcoming and Lina was extremely knowledgeable with the wine list and helped us pick the perfect wine. We shared a variety of appetizers and pasta dishes which were all amazing. The entrees were delicious as well. The rack of lamb was so flavorful and the shrimp and snapper was so fresh. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. We loved it all!

The food was good but way overpriced. I went a couple of times seven years ago and I remember it being much better than it was now .Two pasta dishes and two entrées and one dessert cost us $175. We had no drinks at all. Also, you would think after spending that kind of money they would give my boyfriend a birthday dessert, as I was there for his birthday. They put a candle in it. Great disappointment.!

We’ve been coming to The Cellar for many years. We used to live in Columbia, SC and now live near Clearwater, FL. We have been coming twice a year for about 20 years. The service and food are always outstanding. The wine menu is extensive and if desired Lina offers outstanding pairing suggestions. My wife and I shared the beef carpaccio which was second to none. My wife had veal scallopini and I had the lamb osso bucco which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We shared a chocolate lava cake with hazelnut gelato. If you want a special dining experience this is the place!

Whenever we go to Daytona we have a special meal at The Cellar. The owner gave us a few suggestions and everything we had was spectacular as usual. I was hesitant about the rabbit ragout and ate every bit! The duck (my all time favorite) cooked perfectly and in the top 3 duck dishes I have ever had. Atmosphere is intimate, perfect for a special occasion. Service was attentive although not what we would consider as professional as other high end restaurants. Overall, a definite yes for a special dinner

We have been going to the Cellar for about twenty years. However, I have never taken the opportunity to write a review for this restaurant. Nothing has changed since our first visit, the food has stayed unsurpassed, the service top notch, the wine list expansive and reasonably priced. The owners Lena and Sam, the former the host and wine expert the later the chef supreme provide a memorable experience. Also, we enjoy the atmosphere whether seated in the lower level or upstairs. I would highly recommend The Cellar to anyone who values exceptional food, wine and ambiance.

I have lived in Ormond Beach for over 25 years and over the years we would frequent The Cellar in Daytona Beach. We had not been there for quite some time and decided to surprise my mom and celebrate my mom's birthday there. As soon as we walked in, we were treated very abruptly by the hostess as well as the manager and they told us we had to wait outside until our table was ready. Mind you it was very cold out but they kept telling us to go outside. RUDE. My husband and I also bought a special cake(her favorite) for my mom and as soon as we walked in with it, they said we could not bring the cake in and that we had to leave it in the car. The rest of the dinner was very uncomfortable and they made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. We will NOT return. Very sad as it was one of our favorite places.

Both the food and service I received at the Cellar were exceptional. The wine list was full of absolute gems and I can not wait to return so that I can continue to work my way through the list. It is apparent that a lot of effort is put into all aspects of your meal and you are truly missing out if you do not make a dinner reservation here.

The service was absolutely amazing!!
Starting with the maître d we felt special immediately. The black napkin was a nice touch with my black dress!
This was not a vacation trip but we took a moment out of our busy schedule for a “real” meal as we were tired of all the American chains around where we were.
This was a much needed break! To feel special and enjoy a fine dining meal. Yes it was pricey but the quality delivered.
The presentation and quality of food was excellent and the service amazing!
The mussels appetizer special in a sambuca sauce was a nice twist on a classic - so good!
Hubby had the Caprese salad which was very good.
I had the lamb Osso Buco which was very good and enjoyed my leftovers for lunch the next day!
DH filet was also outstanding!
I had been craving chocolate cake and this was good but not great. At this point my standards were high.
We appreciated the dress code and the ambiance of the cellar.
Highly recommend for a special night out.
