Who would have thought you would find a fine dining restaurant inside a historical residence in Daytona Beach? In the basement, no less! This is where you will enjoy the charming ambiance of The Cellar restaurant. The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Sam and Lina Moggio...have built quite a following in this former winter home of President William G. Harding. You won't be disappointed with any of the entrees, prepared by Sam, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America. He also likes to get out to the dining area to briefly chat with his guests. I highly recommend making reservations for your visit hereMore

I have been to this spot many times over the last ten years. I made a reservation with the hostess for Jan. 19 for two people at 6:00 PM. I gave her the credit card to guarantee the reservation in the amount of $100.00 if...I didn’t show or cancel within 24 hours of Jan. 19. My guest contacted me indicating he was not available on the 19th, but could make it on the 14th to 16th of Jan. I called the hostess to make the change on December 17. She informed me that she did not have time for people that continually revised reservations. This used to be my favorite celebration spot for a nice meal. I guess I am now on the black list. Really poor management. I have over 490,000 readers on TripAdvisor. Hopefully future readers will reconsider booking this spot. I know I will.More

Nice dinner as always at the Cellar. Returning after a few months of vacation, my wife and I enjoyed an excellent Roman Snapper and a succulent Lamb ossubuco. High standard wines for all budgets, attentive and relaxed service. Thanks to the nice Waitress whose name...I don't remember, but the youngest I think. The evening began with a very elegant appetizers, a burratata with aubergines and peppers for two. The Carbonara bucatini to be framed, together with the Saffron Snapper. Prices adjusted to the level of the restaurant. The only note, the tiramisu 'and a fairly banal strudel, served by a waitress or cook? (older than the other) dressed as a cook, however, you can do better, both, for sweets and for the lady in question! Nice place for a romantic dinner.More

Phenomenal menu backed up by even more phenomenal flavor and presentation. Interesting choices that delivered. Worth every penny as it is expensive. We felt celebrating our 45th Wedding Anniversary was worth it.

An absolutely wonderful dining experience! Very knowledgeable staff, the service was impeccable, the wine meticulously crafted, and most importantly, the food was delicious! I will remember this meal for years to come and will go out of my way to eat at The Cellar again.

Excellent experience, but needs a few tweaks. With a 7 o’clock reservation, we stood outside for 15 minutes waiting to be seated. It was hot. Really hot. While I understand their Covid restrictions, we were wilted when we were finally seated inside. I was surprised...at the limited wine selection by the glass, although their bottle selection was superb. Our starter pasta, bucatini, was stellar, and the fish (snapper w/ shrimp) absolutely heavenly. Service was acceptable, but the young server was clearly inexperienced. A lovely evening, nonetheless. Worth a splurge.More

For our anniversary we again dined at this wonderful restaurant. The service and the atmosphere just complements the dining experience. Beside a fantastic wine list I started with Portobello Gorgonzola while my wife enjoyed her Gamgeri (shrimp) Pesto. Before I arrived I had my mind...set to have the Lamb Ossobuco, but that night they had a special of venison which was outstanding. My wife had the Duetto Verde (snapper and crab) that she thoroughly enjoyed. We topped off the evening with cappuccino, espresso and dessert. Simply awesome!More

Friday night's dinner, May 28, 2021 with friends Jane & Dave was at The Cellar in Daytona Beach. We were promptly greeted before we entered the restaurant and went to our reserved table downstairs. The house was built in 1907 and President Warren G. Harding...and family used the home as a seasonal residence to escape the cold Ohio winters. The building is now on the National Historic Registry and owned by the hosts. The food and service was excellent, one of the finest in the Daytona Beach area. I do not give many 5 star ratings on tripadvisor and this was one deserving of the selection. You must have a reservation and a credit card deposit is required if anyone is interested or has a question send me a message..Also they do have a dress code, business casual. (no beach attire or flip flops) and children 8 and older are welcome... it's a fine dining restaurant, not a bar... We had a nice and quiet evening. Also, the pasta used are made on site, rare thing in the Daytona Beach area. Descriptions on each photoMore

We went there Tuesday night and had amazing food and service! I had the lamb shank and my wife had a pasta and shrimp dish. We started with the beef carpaccio and finished with a in house made dessert. Could not have been better. Before...we left we made another reservation for Thursday night! That night we shared a special appetizer. My wife had the duck and I had the grouper. Again everything was amazing. Our favorite restaurant ever!More

I've been to The Cellar on a previous vacation at Daytona Beach and this visit did not disappoint. The food was great. The wine selection is amazing. The service is beyond compare. The ambiance perfect. The dessert, served to the table by the most talented...pastry chef was outrageous. Almost too beautiful to eat...but...I did eat it!!! Can still taste it when I think about it. You must treat yourself to this five star wonder.More

I made a reservation for 5 people for a Tuesday night and was told that I needed to provide a credit card because there was a $50 cancellation fee if not cancelled prior to 24 hours. Unfortunately, I had an emergency and we were not...able to keep the reservation. I was charged $266.25!!! I called to advise that I was told it would only be a $50 charge. To this date, they have not returned my call or credited back this insanely ridiculous charge. BEWARE of providing this restaurant with your credit card.More

It's been six months since my last visit and ... yes, this is still the best Italian restaurant in central Florida. The service is still impeccable, the refined decoration, respected anti-covid rules, spaced tables and finally ... here: "Bucatini alla Carbonara", my favorite dish but...pay attention to how you pronounce "alla" and not "ala", "Bucatini" and not "Buccatini", in short, do not make chef Sam angry by mangling the names of these wonderful Italian dishes! My travel companion chose a succulent red snapper with prawns and lobster sauce, the bill? Well ... high level too, unfortunately there are no miracles for that!More

Dress jeans might be ok. I would call and ask first. People do dress up here, it's not a bar. For a while, jackets were required for men.
