We were looking for a nice creative meal to end our trip and ended up here due to TA reviews. The atmosphere in the restaurant is delightful - after we got past the huge party outside at a nearby establishment. After a good cocktail we had delicious pupusas as an appy, and a very nice "favorite" house salad. I was tempted by the fish of the day but was put off by the $38/plate price so I had some tasty grouper instead. My wife had about the largest slice of roasted pork we have ever seen - which also became breakfast for 3 persons the next day. The "sweet plantains" on the side were pretty dry and tasteless. Service was very professional but our server was so softspoken it was a bit hard to hear him. The rest rooms are outside the restaurant, and the men's room was closed the night we were there - so I was forced to use the other option with my wife guarding the door. Overall this was a nice experience, but more reasonable portions with correspondingly lower prices would make us go back.

Take off your flip flops and T shirt and step away from the beach scene onto to main land Daytona to find this little gem if a restaurant. It's known for its Honduran menu with a nice flavorful mix ("fusion") of Spanish and Caribbean. The menu and specials include use fish, seafoods, beef, pork and chicken all cooked and presented with amazing flavors and flare. A nice selection of appetizers, salads, traditional soups add to the main course selections. They offer a selection of starches such as various rice mixes, potatoes and cassava root machuca. When the wait staff brings your plates and remove the decorative cazuelas conical lid.... you and your table guests will most certainly give a sigh or an ohhhh! Each dish was amazing with flavors that were just right. Nothing over done or sloppy. My steak was cooked perfectly, the rice and beans traditional, the chicken arroz was so good our guest cleaned her plate and our other guest had the shrimp machuca and couldn't stop raving about it. Save room for the desert selections with coffees and after dinner drinks. A full bar with fine wines, liquors and great cocktails adds to your dinning experience. Casual dress code, $$$, good for small groups, outdoor dining available, nice for romantic evenings. Make reservations. Chucherias seems to be more of a local restaurant than tourist joint We give this restaurant thumbs up

Chucherias Hondurenas is an outstanding restaurant experience start to finish. You walk through a beautiful courtyard into an intimate atmosphere with large fireplace, wood beams, white tablecloths, soft background music and candlelight. It was our first time to the restaurant and I was surprising my husband with a special birthday dinner so I wanted everything to be perfect and it was. We were promptly and warmly greeted and escorted to the perfect table. The professional and caring customer service and attention to every detail is immediately evident. The history of the restaurant, the chef and her passion for food comes through in the wine offerings, entrees and desserts. The portions are generous but not overwhelming and the presentation beautiful. I was impressed that the entrees were served on a hot plate to keep the food warm. Our charming waiter Sergio and the others taking care of us that evening took their time in explaining wine and menu selections and made us feel pampered without being intrusive. In today's world of big, loud, busy restaurants, Chucherias is a rare find and an intimate special evening that keeps you talking about it for days after.

Chucherias Hondurañas is a jewel of a find. I have eaten at French Laundry, Daniel’s and many Relais & Château in CA, NYC, New England and France. I won’t say Chucherias is on a par on all levels, but I will say that it is quite close and with respect to some of those exceptional restaurants, I have enjoyed it even more and the price is certainly more reasonable. I have always found the meals fixed by Chef Mayra wonderful and memorable, and the service by Franklin and his staff first rate. And Sergio is delightful. My advice: treat yourself. If you want an inexpensive buffet, go somewhere else. If you want a memorable dining experience at a reasonable cost, try Chucherias Hondurañas!

Chucherias Stay away from this place if you are looking merely for a good meal, you’d be disappointed because this food is superlative in every aspect of its being. The moment that my wife and I stepped through the doors and were greeted promptly, warmly and courteously we knew that we had found a gem. We were seated and our waiter introduced Himself, explained the menu and cuisine and who the chef was and where she was from, they were obviously proud of their establishment. We ordered drinks and I tried the Blackberry Mojito which was absolutely refreshing and delicious. We both had the Black Bean soup as a starter which was well executed in it’s seasoning and broth, an excellent soup. My wife then ordered the Catracho (Beef tenderloin) which came with refried black beans, plantains, caramelized onions and chimol. Her beef was delicious and perfectly cooked, which if you knew my wife is a rare occurrence, she loved the steak but raves about the refried black beans, very flavorful. I ordered the Cerdo al Horno (roast pork), tender, juicy, seasoned perfectly and a top shelf cut of pork, I loved thIs dish and will have it again before leaving Daytona. After a very pleasing meal with excellent pacing we ordered desserts. The Mrs. had the Chocolate bread pudding (after I had convinced her to try something different, she doesn’t like bread pudding in general) she was delighted with her choice. It was served with a nice scoop of peanut butter ice cream, her plate was clean. I had the house specialty Sticky Toffee Pudding on recommendation of the waiter, I was very well pleased. A delicious dessert, something that you won’t see in many places and I highly recommend it. Over all an exceptional night out, a very lovely meal in taste and painstaking preparation with no detail overlooked. Do yourself a favor, GO HERE! Bon Apetite

I have been here three times twice with friends and once with family. The service, the food, the atmosphere is first class, By far the best restaurant in this area. Everything anyone has ordered in these three trips has been amazing. I don't usually get dessert when I go out but I do here because if the appetizer and entrée have been home runs it makes it hard not to add a dessert you anticipate to be ridiculously good. Chucherias is pricy for this area but unlike other restaurants at the high end, this one is worth every penny.

Absolutely wonderful dining experience and cuisine. I was dining alone and my server, Kai, was very attentive and professional. He made my whole meal special. For an appetizer I had Beef turnovers (like empenadas) that were so delicious. Tiny little cubes of real steak in a crispy pastry and served with sauces, hot and mild. It was off set off by picked cabbage (had never had). For my entree, I had Roast Pork with black beans, white rice and sweet plantains. It was accompanied by fresh baked bread with a sweet butter spread. My Sangria was the best I've ever had. Can't praise this place enough. I'm looking forward to going back again next time I'm in Daytona.

Leaving the farm to have lunch with the family for the first time in over a year we chose Chucherias. The last time we enjoyed the food there was in October 2019. Seated in the courtyard on a beautiful Sunday was a perfect place to enjoy their menu. Just as in our last visit every dish we enjoyed was excellent. Chucherias is one of the hand full of restaurants that we can tell you that every appetizer, soup, entree, sandwich, and dessert is excellent. The service is on par with the food offering and all staff shows you they truly want you to enjoy your dining experience. We did order several entrees, soups, and sandwiches to take home which were delicious on Monday. You will be blessed if you chose Chucherias for your dining.

This restaurant may not be the easiest to find, and that would only be because of their low key signage. A GPS will take you right into their parking lot. So, I find it hard to understand what is taking the Michelin Star committee and a group from the James Beard Foundation so long to get there. My wife and I took our friends there to celebrate their wedding anniversary and it turned out to be the perfect choice. I had only relied on Trip Advisor reviews and knew it would be a good experience. We did not anticipate that it would be among the finest restaurant experiences we have ever had, but that is exactly what it turned out to be. From the welcome we received from the Maitre D', to the super friendly, professional, and attentive service at our table, this was a wonderful experience. The menu is loaded with options, making it hard to decide what to order. Everything was explained to us, making our decisions more manageable. They apparently have a very inspired and creative bartender. From the Blueberry Mojitos, to the superb Spanish Margarita, and my perfectly seasoned Bloody Mary, we started on the right track. The Salmon in Curry Sauce, and the Salmon Mediterranean (both of that evening's fish specials), the Catracho Tenderloin, and the Lobster Machuca, were all perfectly prepared, beautifully served, and tasted incredible. We shared an order of Profiterol because we could not leave without tasting one of their desserts. There was no rushing through dinner. We asked to be seated outside in their courtyard between the lighted trees, which made us feel like we were the only ones there. The atmosphere was beautiful. Do not be afraid that the food is too spicy or unusual for your taste, whatever that may be. The flavors speak for themselves and this restaurant will make you want to come back anytime you are in the Daytona area, or within a reasonable driving distance. It is worth the trip, for sure.

My husband and I went to Chuchurias for a late lunch. First of all, it hardly looks like a great restaurant location. Once you leave the parking area and enter the beautiful courtyard, things change. It was cool and rainy when we went, so we sat inside. But I can easily imagine sitting in the sun, enjoying a meal in the courtyard. It was mid afternoon, and we were offered both the lunch and dinner menus. We shared a Carribean salad; the dressing was so tasty we could have licked the plate! We settled on sandwiches. The Baleada was two tortillas filled with black beans, cheese, and avocado. The portions were generous, and I had enough to take home. We shared the sticky toffee dessert, and waddled out well satisfied. I have never had Honduran food before, but I will definitely be back to try some dinner items. The service was excellent, knowledgeable and unhurried. Definitely go to Chuchurias!

This was our fourth time visiting Chucherias. The first time we were blown away; this time not so much. For starters, a caesars salad should never cost $10. It was a small bland plate full of not so fresh lettuce and caesars dressing. There was absolutely nothing special about it. The bread was fresh but guava butter was so hard that it was difficult to spread and enjoy. My husband ordered the steak with rice and beans. The beans were a paste, and the rice tasted like the one you boil in a bag. My shrimp machuca, which I always order, was basically shrimp in a tomato sauce. Where was the machuca, which should have consisted of mashed yucca and/or cassava? My cucumber caipirosca and cappuccino were basically the only two things I enjoyed, and even the latter was not hot enough. Overall, we left less than satisfied. Even though I shared our experience with our server, nothing was done to rectify the matter. We will not be back.

Very small charming restaurant that resembles a ski lodge. Mainly stone with a huge stone fireplace. A Latin restaurant restaurant with a very nice but small menu. Rui, our server was very knowledgeable and professional. My ordered the Chicken Breast, seared chicken breast cooked with fresh herbs, finished with caramelized onions and served with white rice, black beans and plantains. Huge portion and very good. Roast Pork, slow roasted Pork marinated in a blend of orange and garlic mojo then finished with fresh rosemary and served with white rice, black beans and sweet plantains. Lots of bold flavors and also a huge portion. If you want a dining experience in Daytona beach, then you must try Chucherias.

My husband and I live beachside. I saw the great ratings here and decided to give it a try. We love Spanish food. He was stationed in Madrid for almost 5 years. We have had foreign exchange students from Spain and visited Bilbao and Barcelona in 2017. We ate a late lunch here. The house Tempranillo was delicious. I had a vegetarian dish and my hubby had the chicken and rice bowl. Soooo delicious! We splurged and each had dessert (we usually split one or have none at all). Can't wait to come back for dinner!

For the money that it cost to eat here, I was expecting some good food… at least something that was cooked correctly. The sauce that was with the meal was amazing, I was soo disappointed when I went into the lobster and the shrimp to find them way over cooked. Our server was pretty uninventive, but it wasn’t that way for the other guests. Either way, the service was okay and the food (the most important part) most definitely needs improvement!

This was our first visit to Chucherias. It was my birthday and I was intrigued by the menu posted on TA. My husband and I were absolutely and delightedly blown away! What a lovely little gem of a restaurant! Cozy and classy, with a pastoral view out into a beautiful secluded courtyard. The ambiance is purely relaxing and the linen laid tables add a welcome touch of elegance. The menu was unique and inventive, a fusion of Spanish, Honduran, and Caribbean flavors but having just a touch of French flair. Kudos to the chef! Staff were wonderful, accommodating and very patient. We never felt rushed, in fact realized after dessert how long we had taken to finish our meals. We shared a Caribbean salad to start, which was so good my hubby said it was the best salad he had ever eaten. We chose the Caribbean lobster tail and shrimp entree served over mashed casava, bathed in a light tomato and coconut milk broth. Holy cow! This place is a hidden gem and probably will not remain hidden for long. We will go back again and again. A perfect dining experience.
