Big Bear Brewing Company opened their doors in 1997. I was last here in 2018 and after revisiting I wonder what took me so long. I had a craving for chicken pot pie and based on their pictures they had a stellar one. After a day of running around and not eating I asked my girlfriend to meet me for dinner. On a Saturday night there was a wait but it was only about 20 minutes. By the time my girlfriend arrived from work we were almost ready to be seated. The restaurant is very classy with dark wood and it was decorated tastefully for the holidays. Although they brew their own award winning beer I was in a more non alcoholic mood so my friend suggested the root beer which they also make in house. It was so refreshing and hit the spot. We were contemplating the famous beer cheese soup but compromised on a shared order of pretzel sticks with cheese fondue. It was a delicious appetizer and we both loved the sweet pickles they served with it. Although everything on the menu sound appetizing and looked great as it came out of the kitchen which we were seated next to, I was set on the pot pie. It was a giant portion with a pie crust bottom and topped with puff pastry. It satisfied my craving and I had more than enough to take home for a later meal. All of the desserts are house made so we ended the night on a sweet note with a molten chocolate lava cake and ice cream. It was so rich and decadent. Our server was so attentive and friendly. He really went out of the way to make the night special for us. There are so many restaurants in this area of Coral Springs but it is easy to see why Big Bear has lasted so long with its wonderful food and atmosphere, good value, and friendly service. I can't wait to try some of the other things I saw flying out of the kitchen.

I have been to this restaurant at least once a month but the mac & cheese is additive especially when it combine with the crispy onions...yummy... besides that the cheese soup is also one of a kind. If it weren't for my small tummy i would love to eat more every time i visited this restaurant. But the services are usually inconsistent. Luckily most of the food served are pretty consistent and i hope it stays that way.

Was able to get a table on Saturday night (Valentine’s weekend). This place has been a consistent winner over the years. Service is always good - my main pet peeve with most places. Great, lively atmosphere. We ordered the chicken Madeira and Tuna entree with soba noodles, and a blueberry beer. Finished dinner with a red velvet cheesecake. We WILL be back.

Food was average--ordered the famous pretzel crusted chicken @$16, and it was so dry that I had to ask for honey mustard dressing to dip it into. Onion soup @$6 was too watery/tasteless for me, but the few crispy onion straws on top were a treat. My main complaint was the atmosphere, or should I say lack of it. Parents don't care that their kids are yelling, but other diners do. If you think you'd like eating in a zoo, try this place on a Saturday afternoon.

Have enjoyed the food and service here several times over numerous years but sadly, this time was a real miss. We were a group of 7 and orders were bungled (wrong foods on the wrong plates) and one meal was completely missed ("oops, I forgot to order that one!". 4 of the 7 had problems with our meals and consequently we ended up eating in shifts - not the idea of a family evening out. To make things more bizarre, several staff members were running around hovering around our table, taking things away and the manager finally came over and instead of apologizing - he just seemed to be overseeing the errors. In the end, was a little shocked that not even the one dessert we ordered was taken off the bill as a simple token of "we goofed". I accept that mishaps occur but this one was almost comical and while the main server did indeed acknowledge his mistake, the correct approach is to then comp at least something!

The absolute worsservice that I've had in any restaurant in over 5 years! To top it off I ordered jambalaya, thought it was a little off-beat that the served it over pasta, but I tried it. Well, it was bad; very little stuff except for the pasta and very little sauce! There were 8 of us and they tried serving the entrees before the salads, because they obviously, forgot the salads. We called over the OWNER, and we tried some cockamamy excuss and almost forgot to apologize!

We were a party of 8. After waiting for 1 hr, we sat at a nice table outside in a corner area. The main server was great and dealt with our large party with grace. After receiving our appetizers, the wind started to pick up - signaling a weather change. No action was taken. Soon after, our dinner was delivered (we had a separate server almost drop the plate on my mother in laws face) and the wind became crazy. We asked the servers if they were going to put something up to protect us from the wind and rain. The servers walked away and only came back when it started pouring. Half of our party's backs got drenched from the run off water. The wind blew rain all over our table and food. The staff responded in slow motion. The manager came and wasn't pleasant or very apologetic. He said they have no rain protection like roll down curtains outside, which is crazy! It's South Florida. Rain is typical. They ended up moving us inside. Half of us carried our own plates into the restaurant. We had to sit at three separate tables. Our food got cold. The night ended terribly. The Manager came over only once to give us new fountain drinks. Our main server was not to be responsible. The Manager should be ready for this, his patio was full, and rain was forecasted. Why agree to seat us outside? We had family in town. It was a big disappointment. Terrible!

Sent for dinner with another couple. Arrived at 8:20 waited 10 minutes to be seated they gave us a buzzer We waited 20 minutes to flag someone down to take our order. He sent over a waitress. Menu had many choices but was unsure what was really the speciality at this restaurant . We got salads. Burgers and prime rib sandwich. All were good. The prime rib sandwich was the best choice. As we were eating ( it took us time to get served so let’s sane it’s about 10 -10:15 pm. They were calling last chance to order more beers or order dessert . It was ok but certainly nowhere I would be running back to. Much better choices on Coral Springs to eat at .

We haven't been here in a while and after reading the reviews I was excited to go back. Ordered the roasted beet & goat cheese salad with grilled chicken. The beets were cold and didn't taste roasted and there wasn't as much cheese as expected. The chicken was bland. I've had similar dishes that were much better at other restaurants. My companion's steak was hard on the outside- over seared perhaps- but juicy inside. Root beer was excellent. Wait staff was very good and ambience very nice. Was just hoping for a tastier meal.

We love the the bear cafe and everyone that works there. Yesterday January 2nd we came in for lunch and had our family with us and our server Alan completely ruined any type of great experience we would have. Right from the time we sat down he was short and dismissive with his answers and in a very big rush for some reason to get us to order before we even had a chance to look at the menu. We frequent The Bear cafe regularly and love everything about it except for yesterday. My wife has Celiac Disease and he seemed to not really care about that and when you were trying to ask him a question he would just casually walk away as if he didn’t want to be bothered. We had asked some questions about some modifications on the food and if he could ask the kitchen for us which we usually do because my wife has Celiac disease and they always do everything they can to help. Not on January 2nd because of Alan. He just told us it should be fine, I’m not really sure, probably not. Listen if you don’t want to be there then go find someplace else to make everyone around you miserable. This is one of the best restaurants in the area and it’s unfortunate one person could bring it all down.

My friend Daina and I have been going to Big Bear for years now. Today, we went for lunch and Daina got the chicken tender salad, like always. I decided that I would get the same, because I can always take the rest home. Well, I was WRONG! Their chicken salad was literately half what it used to be! The chicken tenders used to be three chicken tenders cut up, now it is like one chicken tender cut up! The piece of avocado shouldn't even be called a piece! It was so small!!! When I asked the waitress if they have cut down on their portions, she said no that it has been the same for months! Well, let me tell you it hasn't! When I spoke to the manager, she said that they have the same portion and plates for 7 years. Then she said that they are getting in smaller avocados, so that is why the one small tiny piece of avocado is so small. She then said that they make their own tenders and that there are three pieces, just that they now make them smaller...like super tiny! So I then said that, so this is not the same portion...she insisted it is. She then said that she is only telling me what she is told to tell me! So Big Bear you are charging $18.00 plus tax, original price, for less than half of what you used to give. Please stop lying and being greedy and just tell the truth!!! I am surprised that they didn't say it was because of Covid!

Came back to Big Bear Brewing Company. Had the dinner feature of Pan Seared Rainbow Trout with wild rice and broccoli (subbed for asparagus). They suggested pairing with their Polar Light, which I was already drinking. They have many different types of beers and you will find them favorable. Victoria was a very professional and engaging server. She introduced me to one of the owners GS and he was very interesting. I did not know (do not live here), but they have been here 25 years. Given the quality of the food and service it is no wonder. With all the COVID stuff, they were doing a great job, masks, serious cleaning, and social distancing. Next time you are nearby, give it a try. Enjoy!

My mother-in-law, my beautiful wife and I stop by on friends recommendations started off with chicken tenders and fries as an appetizer. They were good as can be we split a wedge salad. It was huge and delicious and fresh. My mother-in-law got the biggest cheeseburger I’ve ever seen. My wife had fabulous chicken masala and I had Mojito chicken very tender couple Coca-Cola. No dessert service was a tentative fair prices for scratch made food will be back. See you soon.👏

It looked so good….to end rather poorly. First, it’s a beautiful place. Very enjoyable to be in. I think we just had an off day with them. To say our server was inattentive would be giving her credit. Sweet when she was at our table, but we literally had to stop her passing by to order more drinks. When our food was served, it was probably 15-20 minutes before she came to even see how it was. Sadly, my husband’s burger (ordered medium) was over well done and so dry he couldn’t eat it. So he basically had fries for lunch, which by the was were fantastic. Just not a fabulous choice for our vacation lunch.

On Friday, August 30, 2024, my family and I had the pleasure of visiting the Big Bear Brewing Company. As frequent patrons of this establishment, we have always been delighted with the exceptional service and warm hospitality extended to us. However, our recent visit on this date left a lasting impression on us. During our dining experience, our three-year-old daughter mentioned feeling cold, prompting us to notify our attentive waitress, Megan. Without hesitation, Megan and her team sprang into action to ensure our daughter's comfort. A kind and caring staff member named Carla promptly arrived with a cozy sweater, wrapping our daughter in loving warmth as she continued to enjoy her meal in her highchair. The genuine hospitality and attentive service we received from Megan, Carla, and the entire team at Big Bear Brewing Company truly touched our hearts. We felt compelled to commend the exceptional leadership of Manager Mark for fostering such a welcoming and family-friendly environment. We wholeheartedly recommend a visit to this Coral Springs gem located off University Drive, where not only is the food outstanding, but the warm and inviting atmosphere makes it a perfect destination for families to create lasting memories together. We encourage all visitors to indulge in the award-winning beer offerings that are truly second to none, adding to the delightful experience that awaits at Big Bear Brewing Company.
