FYI, they let you share that humongous Prime Rib! Our waitress suggested it. Food and service always excellent!!

We waited over a half hour to get a drink we were sitting at the piano and it was early it wasn't even crowded but I'm assuming all the favorites were at the bar getting there full attention. Then we asked for a particular drink...it was made wrong and the waiter said that's how she makes it... We all came in for the prime rib dinner since that's what we heard was so good it was very early and the waitress said oh they're all well done we wanted medium rare so one of the people I was with took a chance because she doesn't mind well done and it was medium rare so we all ordered something else which was more expensive and we didn't get what we wanted when it was absolutely cooked the way we liked it?? I'm not sure what's going on over there I think if you don't sit at the bar you don't get good service we were there for hours just to have a couple of drinks and dinner.. I think some restaurants unfortunately treat their regulars top notch and forget about everybody else that's my only guess and why would they say the prime rib is well done maybe because they're saving it for some of their favorites!!More

I ate there last week and sat outside. We had the French onion soup and New York strip and shared a portion of the delicious au poivre sauce. First time there since covid. It was fabulous as always, love their staff and the family who...run it. Really missed sitting at the bar with Rico but that will have to wait a bit. We need to go again and support them. Wish we had more independent restaurants like this in this area. I really hope that they survive these challenging times.More

Lobster Tail was very good and reasonable price of $49 that comes with a potato (your choice) and vegetable-broccoli and string beans. It's a 9 ounce South African Lobster Tail and it was very good. They did remove the ribeye from the menu which I...wasn't happy about because this is my favorite steak cut. The waitress said the meat prices went too high. Social distancing was adhered to. Acoustics in this restaurant make it quite noisy.More

While visiting friends in the area, they took us here and I was so amazed at the food, not only delicious but very generous portions! I had a salad that had at least half a pound of bacon in it which was delicious. Then the...salmon! The largest portion I ever had, at least double the usual, and cooked perfectly. And very efficient and friendly servers. I plan to go there every time I'm visiting the area!More

Having been to Runyons on a few occasions we booked for New Years Eve 2019 ... what a complete waste of time table booked 10.15pm we were called roughly an hour and half later to sit down , the place was jam packed , to...get a drink while we waited for table to become available the men in the party had a job to get to the bar , the management in their wisdom had got ‘dollar ‘ signs in their eyes and squashed as many people as possible into the restaurant, the staff had a nod to get between the tables. We finally got our order taken and it arrived at 11.59 , it was on the whole the most depressing NYE we’ve endured, the one bright spot of the evening if there could be one , was Esra the singer .More

New Years Eve is a big deal for celebrations and once gone. thats it for another year. We were booked in to Runyon's , having been there before and looking forward to it. A 10:15 table so we turned up early for a drink and...the place was packed out- even to get a drink at the bar. We had to sit outside outside. !0:15 came and went and so did 10:30. We were eventually seated around just past 11 and the dining room in the piano bar was a total crush with servers struggling to get past tables. After about 20 minutes we were able to give our order. No one came near us. Only a couple of starters and then in to the main meal.By this time it was 11:56. The food was both overcooked and luke warm. Quite an achievement. Basically put under hot lights for too long. My daughter's Mac'n'Cheese was solid lump which refused to leave the dish even when turned upside down and shaken. See photo. Son-in-Law's filet with fries and green beans was served without fries. They had run out. An American Restaurant running out of fries is another achievement like a pub running out of beer. My wife's chicken with pasta - again the pasta was a solid lump and my filet wellington with mashed potato was cold and had to go back. All this happening at past midnight when tables were being cleared, and no party baubles for us! This was all down to owners greed in cramming as many people in to the restaurant as possible with no thought about quality of service or comfort - like an overcrowded Indian railway train, but with people clinging on to the piano rather than the outside of a carriage. The food was comped (but was inedible anyway), but all in all, how can that compensate for abject failure on one of the special nights of the year? The till receipts would have looked good, but never again for us. A complete waste of an evening and then having to eat when we got home. On a a normal evening the food is overpriced and nothing special. Its the sort of place which thinks its special because the servers are uniformed, but its not reallyMore
